2. Safety Instructions
WARNING
Always take the necessary safety precautions when using electric devices in order to reduce the risk of fire,
electroshock, etc. Read all instructions thoroughly and take into account the limitations of this device and the possible
risks in using it.
1. Do NOT use the device unless the wheel guards are installed.
2. Only use the wet wheel in wet condition to avoid damage.
3. Keep the work area clean. A cluttered work area invites injuries.
4. Do not expose the device to rain. Don't use it in a damp or wet environment. Keep the work area well lit. Don't
use the device in the vicinity of presence of flammable liquids or gases.
5. Do not let visitors touch the tool or the extension cord. Keep all visitors away from the device, especially
children.
6. When not in use the device should be stored in a dry environment that is inaccessible to children.
7. Do not force the device. It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was intended.
8. Use the right device. Do not use a light device for a heavy-duty job. Only use the device for its intended
purpose.
9. Wear the right clothes. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery as they can get caught in moving parts. Rubber
gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended when working outdoors. Wear protective headgear if you have
long hair.
10. Wear safety glasses and also wear a face mask when working in a dusty environment.
11. Do not overreach. Be careful not to lose your footing and don't lose your balance!
12. Maintain the device to ensure better performance. Follow the instructions with reference to lubrication and the
replacement of accessories. Inspect the cables periodically and have them replaced if they are damaged. Keep
all handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
13. Always make sure all adjusting keys and spanners have been removed before the device is switched on.
14. Don't carry the device around with your finger on the switch in order to avoid accidental starting.
15. Use common sense. Watch what you're doing and don't operate the device when you're tired.
16. If a part is damaged, you should check carefully whether the device will still operate properly. Check the
alignment of moving parts, the installation of the device and all other elements that may affect its operation.
Damaged guards should be repaired or replaced by qualified personnel. Have defective switches replaced by
authorised personnel. Do not use the device if the switch doesn't turn it on and off.

18. Replacement parts must always be identical to the original ones.

3. Additional Safety Instructions
1. The distance between the spark guard and the grinding wheel must not exceed 2mm.
2. The distance between the workpiece support and the grinding stone must not exceed 2mm.
3. Never use damaged grinding wheels.
4. Replace the grinding wheel when the wheel has worn by 40mm.
MOUNTING THE MACHINE
The machine must be screwed to a workbench. Mark the position of the mounting holes on the workbench. Drill holes
at each of the marked positions, adjusting the diameter and depth of the holes to the screws used. Place the
machine on the workbench and insert the screws into the mounting holes. Tighten the screws.
REPLACING A GRINDING WHEEL
Always unplug the grinder before replacing a grinding wheel. Never use a cracked grinding wheel. Replace a cracked
grinding wheel immediately. A cracked grinding wheel may break into pieces when used and cause injuries.
MOUNTING AND ADJUSTING THE SPARK GUARDS
Adjust the position of the spark guards frequently to compensate for the wear of the grinding wheels. Mount the spark
guard on the wheel guard with the screw. Keep the distance between the spark guard and the grinding wheel as
small as possible (max. 2mm). Tighten the spark guard screw and lower the screen. Tighten the nut.
ADJUSTING THE WORKPIECE SUPPORTS
Adjust the position of the workpiece supports frequently to compensate for the wear of the grinding wheels. Loosen
the adjusting screw. Keep the distance between the workpiece support and the grinding wheel as small as possible
(max. 2mm). Tighten the adjusting screw.

5. Assembly Instructions
Remove grinder and other parts from box.
Stand grinder on firm, level surface.
Fit eye shield assembly to dry wheel guard using bolt, flat washer and
spring washer.
Fit tool rest to dry wheel guard using flathead bolt, washer and plastic
thumb nut.
6. Operating Instructions
Secure the grinder to a stable and level surface. Positioning the grinder towards the front of the bench will facilitate
the handling of long objects. If possible, leave sufficient room to the left of the device for easy access to the wet
wheel. An alternative method consists in securing the grinder to a sheet of plywood which can then be clamped to a
bench or table to present the grinder in the most convenient position.
Before using the dry wheel make sure that the spark guard is positioned as close to the surface of the wheel as
possible. It's also a good idea to wear safety goggles when operating the grinding machine.
The dry wheel can be used for grinding profiles or bevels on virtually any cutting tool: plane irons, chisels, gouges,
turning tools, drill bits, etc. The aluminium oxide will cut cleanly and without undue heating of the tip of the tool. Take
care, however, not to grind a tool too hard or too long in order to avoid overheating. The final sharpening of the edge
should be carried out on the wet wheel.
Fill the trough with clean water to just below the edge before using the wet wheel. The wet wheel cuts more slowly
than the dry wheel, but the lower speed and the water-cooled operation produce a sharp edge with no risk of burning.
Tools can either be sharpened free-hand or, in the case of those with a long cutting face such as knives, they can be
placed on the notches on the edges of the trough in order to maintain a constant grinding angle.
