General Information and Contents

1. HD Flex LC Fiber Adapter Panel (FAP)

• Configured to accommodate pre-terminated cable assemblies.

2. HD Flex LC Preconfigured Splice Cassette – Available in 2 Configurations:

• Configured with 12 Discrete Pigtails, (12) 40mm Discrete Splice Sleeves, and 2 Pan-Ty Cable Ties.

• Configured with a 12-Fiber Ribbon Pigtail, (1) 40mm Ribbon Splice Sleeve, and 2 Pan-Ty Cable Ties.

WARNING: UNMATED CONNECTORS MAY EMIT INVISIBLE LASER RADIATION. MAINTAIN DUST CAPS ON UNMATED

CONNECTORS.

CAUTION:

Fiber optic cable is sensitive to excessive pulling, bending, and crushing forces. Consult the manufacturer’s cable specification sheet

for the specific cable in use.

Install patch cords and route cables as shown.

It is recommended to use Panduit cable assemblies.

Note: When using jacketed patch cords, use

maximum cable diameter of 2.0mm and maximum

connector length of 2.0 inches (from end of ferrule to

end of boot).

Strip incoming field cable outer jacket 20 inches.

Secure with Pan-Ty Cable Ties, and Kevlar with

screw (optional). Max cable diameter: 7.4mm

Expose all fiber ends for splicing. Slide a splice

sleeve onto either the (pigtail or field) fiber. Strip off

approximately 35mm of coating from each fiber.

Wipe the bare fiber with a lint-free tissue soaked with

isopropyl alcohol. Cleave the fiber so that 10mm

(both for 250µm and 900µm coating diameter) of

bare fiber extends past the fiber coating.

Note: Do not clean the bare fiber after it has been

cleaved, and do not let it come in contact with any

surfaces.

Splice all fibers and heat splice sleeve(s). Refer to

splicer manufacturer best practice instructions.

Route spliced fibers into cassette ensuring fibers

are located under the routing tabs. Incoming field

fibers are shown as black dashed lines.

Secure splice sleeves within splice organizer.

Re-install cover.
