MANUAL
BAMFIELD 140 / 160
UK: INSTRUCTION MANUAL
IMPORTANT
Read the instruction manual before using the product.
Keep this manual for future reference.
Always carry this manual in the vehicle when using the roof tent.
WARNINGS LADDER
•Warning, fall from the ladder
•Read and follow the warnings and instructions on the ladder, as well as in the ladder section
of this manual.
WARNINGS OUTWELL LIGHT SYSTEM
•Risk of electric shock — Do not modify, disassemble, or attempt to repair the unit; internal components are
not user serviceable.
•Eye hazard — Do not stare directly into the light source. Prolonged exposure at close range may cause eye
discomfort.
Warnings roof tent (driving)
•Incorrectly mounted roof tents and roof bars can come loose during driving and cause serious accidents.
Always follow the roof tent and roof bar instructions for installation and use.
•Before driving, always ensure tent and roof bars are securely fastened. Check at regular intervals and every
2 hours when driving on rough roads.
•Make sure tent is completely closed and straps are secured before driving.
•Do not drive a vehicle while the tent is deployed.
•The speed of the vehicle must always be adjusted to the load being carried and the current driving
conditions, such as road type, road quality and wind conditions. Never exceed 120 km/h (75 mph) with the
roof tent installed on the vehicle. Always follow applicable speed limits and other trac regulations.
•Drive slowly over bumps. Max. speed 10 km/h (6 mph).
•The driving and braking performance of the vehicle change when a load is carried on the roof. The vehicle
can become more aected by side winds.
•The total permissible laden weight of the vehicle must not be exceeded. Always follow the vehicle
manufacturer's instructions regarding dynamic (driving) and static (parked) roof loads.
•Calculating total dynamic roof load: roof tent + roof bars + installation parts + other items stored on the
roof = total dynamic roof load.
•Only use roof bars that are suitable for the weight of the intended load and that are approved for the use of
your specic vehicle.
•In order to avoid generation of excessive lifting forces, the roof tent must be mounted horizontally and not
at an angle.
•No modications to the tent mounting system (e.g. drilling holes) are allowed.
•In addition to this manual, also consult the user manuals / instructions for the roof bars and the vehicle.

•The ladder must remain in place to support the tent.
•Do not retract the ladder when it is in use.
•Read and follow the warnings and instructions on the ladder.
