1.1 Zubehör
1.2 Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Der Orbsmart TR43 Computer ist ein elektronisches Gerät das Daten verarbeitet
(Datenverarbeitungsgerät). Es ist ausschließlich für diesen Zweck bestimmt und darf nur zu diesem Zweck
verwendet werden. Es darf nur in der Art und Weise benutzt werden, wie es in dieser Gebrauchsanleitung
beschrieben ist. Dieses Gerät ist nicht dafür bestimmt, durch Personen (einschließlich Kinder) mit
eingeschränkten physischen, sensorischen oder geistigen Fähigkeiten oder mangels Erfahrung und/oder
mangels Wissen benutzt zu werden, es sei denn, sie werden durch eine für ihre Sicherheit zuständige Person
beaufsichtigt oder erhielten von ihr Anweisungen, wie das Gerät zu benutzen ist. Kinder sollten beaufsichtigt
werden, um sicherzustellen, dass sie nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

1.3 Cleaning & Transport
Der Netzadapter kann mit Wechselstrom von 100 - 240 V betrieben werden. Verwenden Sie aber einen
geeigneten Steckeradapter, wenn der Stecker nicht in die Netzsteckdose passt.
1.4 Reparaturen, Aufstellung & Verpackung
- Reparaturen am Gerät sollten nur von einer autorisierten Fachwerkstatt durchgeführt werden.
- Ein Umbauen oder Verändern des Produktes beeinträchtigt die Produktsicherheit. Achtung
Verletzungsgefahr! Öffnen Sie das Produkt niemals eigenmächtig und führen Sie Reparaturen nie selber aus!
- Falscher Zusammenbau führt möglicherweise zu Fehlfunktionen oder dem Totalausfall.
- Die Steckdose muss leicht zugänglich sein, um im Notfall das Gerät schnell vom Stromkreis zu trennen.
- Installieren oder positionieren Sie dieses Gerät nicht in einem Bücherregal, Einbauschrank oder einem
sonstigen engen Raum. Stellen Sie eine gute Belüftung des Gerätes sicher.
- Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht auf Verstärker oder andere Geräte, die heiß werden können. Diese Hitze
könnte das Gerät beschädigen. Setzen Sie dieses Gerät keinem direkten Sonnenlicht, hohen Temperaturen,

Language settings
You can change the language if you wish. The standard language is English.
Home Screen > Settings > Device Preferences > Language

Time zone settings
You can set the correct time and time zone as follows:

WIFI settings
The following steps are necessary to connect the TR43 to the WIFI :
Home Screen> Settings> Network & Internet> Wi-Fi
With one click on the desired network and entering the correct password, a connection
will be established directly. We recommend in the 5GHz range channels below 100.
Alternatively, the device can also be connected using a LAN connection.
Zugriff auf im Netzwerk freigegebene Ordner oder NAS-Laufwerke (SAMBA)
Alle Geräte müssen sich zwingend in derselben Arbeitsgruppe (in der Regel
WORKGROUP) befinden. Wenn das Gerät mit dem Netzwerk verbunden ist und der
DHCP Dienst auf dem Router aktiviert ist, erfolgt die Zuweisung der IP Adresse
automatisch. Um vom Computer aus auf den Speicher bzw. die angeschlossenen
Festplatten/SD-Karten am Gerät zuzugreifen, drücken Sie die Tastenkombination
„Windows Taste+R“ und geben Sie in das Feld die IP-Adresse des Gerätes nach
folgendem Schema ein \\192.168.10.132 (zu finden unter Settings > Network) und
bestätigen Sie die Eingabe mit der „Enter“ Taste. Jetzt können Sie auf das Gerät per
SAMBA Freigabe zugreifen und Daten austauschen.

The main menu has already integrated some shortcuts, that you can customize. By click on
the "plus" sign you can add or delete app shortcuts directly. With the click on the gear
wheel below you get to the settings for language, time, Network settings, screen size and
much more. By hold and press OK on the selected app, it can be moved or completely
uninstalled.
A few apps (e.g. Disney + or Netflix) are more designed for touchscreen operations.
You can also perform these movements with the remote control, by holding down the OK
button and then "pulling" it upwards (to simulate a corresponding swiping gesture upwards).
Alternatively, a Mouse with mouse wheel can be used.

2. Installation
2.1 First Steps
2.1.1 ON/OFF & Standby
Connect the HDMI cable to your television or monitor. Connect the power supply to the
TR43 and the socket. Connect the USB receiver of the remote control (2x AAA batteries
required) to the USB port on the device. The TR43 starts automatically and the front LED
lights up.

2.1.2 Operation
Access to folders or NAS drives (SAMBA) shared in the network
All devices must be in the same workgroup (usually WORKGROUP). When the device is
connected to the network and the DHCP service is activated on the router, the IP
address is assigned automatically. To access the memory or the connected
hard drives / SD cards on the device, press the key combination"Windows key + R" and
enter the IP address of the device in the field, like „\\192.168.10.132" (to be found under
Settings> Network) and confirm the entry with the "Enter" key. Now you can use the device
to access SAMBA shares and exchange data.
Install Apps
Apps can be downloaded and installed via the Google Play Store (formerly Android Market)
downloaded and installed. To be able to access the Store, a (free) Google account is
absolutely necessary. With a click on the Google Play Store app you have the possibility
to register or to use your existing account. Home Screen -> Google Play. Please
note that in the Store generally additional costs may arise. Alternatively, you can install
manually apps on your own if not available in the Play Store (e.g. Disney+) via .apk file
(if there is a restriction on certain apps in your country). Many streaming services can
also be used alternatively via the browser (e.g. Chrome with desktop view).
2.1.3 Access external media
USB Stick or USB HDD
Connect the stick or the external hard drive via USB. Please note: Android™ does not
have any options for formatting / partitioning. The hard disk / SSD must already have a
partition (FAT32 or NTFS / GPT). To move files, copy, delete use the preinstalled "X-Plore"
file manager.
Now open the “KODI Mediacenter” or other Video Players (VLC, MX Player) to view
videos or films.
microSD
Insert the microSD card into the empty SD card slot (max. 256GB). Now open the
the “KODI Mediacenter” to view videos or films.
3. FAQ
Q: How can I shut down the device and not just go into standby?
A: Press and hold the ON / OFF button for a few seconds.
Q: Can I access my network shares or NAS?
A: Yes. You can optionally use the integrated network file manager for this purpose or
install a different one. Some are free on the Play Store available e.g. the X-Plore file
manager. This way you can e.g. also watch films from a PC or stream from a NAS.
Q: How do I get a movie wall / film poster?
A: With Android ™ as the operating system, almost all apps from Google™ can
be installed from the Play Store, including media center apps such as "KODI"
(preinstalled),"PLEX" or "Archos Video Player". Cover downloads, information, trailers
etc. are possible there.
Q: I can't see a full 64GB of free internal storage?
A: As with all Android devices, a part is permanently reserved by Android itself.
Q: I cannot log into the Google Play Store or the browser givesa security warning?
A: Make sure the time zone or date is set correctly.
Q: How can I access my USB storage media / SD card in the file manager?
A: In the preinstalled file manager, the USB hard drive / stick and the SD card
is displayed. In other file managers and apps you have to navigate through the
Android file system. Android uses a different file system like Windows, everything starts
with the root directory / and then all directories follows. The USB storage media and the
SD card are located under/ storage
Q: Apps such as Netflix/Disney+ are shown as incompatible?
A: Most apps (such as Netflix and Disney+ ) can still be used. You can download and
install the app with an installation file (.apk) manually. You can find these files for
example on apkmirror.
Q: My connected keyboard only outputs the US layout (e.g. Y instead of Z)?
A: Under Settings> Device Settings> Keyboard> Physical Keyboard you find the
Settings for different language layouts.
Q: My videos are played without sound or only in stereo instead of 5.1 DTS / Dolby?
A: These formats can be activated under Device Settings -> Sound > Decode &
Bitstream (HDMI Bitstream / SPDIF passthrough). We recommend the pre-installed KODI
Mediacenter as a video player. Pay attention to the audio settings there (important: activate
expert mode!) Depending on your own equipment (e.g. AV receiver, see also
https://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/System/Audio)
Q: The KODI Mediacenter only shows 1080p instead of 4K resolution?
A: The standard skin is limited to 1080p (for speed reasons). Videos (if available / possible)
are played in native 4K resolution.
Q: Where can I get firmware updates?
A: Only install firmware updates provided directly by Orbsmart. Use of third-party
firmware can damage the device. We do not accept any liability for damage
caused by incorrect system firmwares. Find official updates including
installation instructions on www.orbsmart.de/support/

To start an app automatically after booting, we recommend a so-called „Autostart App“.
There is a large selection in the Play Store.
Add favorite Apps to the Home screen
Further favorite apps can be created by clicking on the "plus" symbol.
Video/Audio Settings
The settings for this are under Home Screen> Settings> Device Preferences > Sound >
Decode & BitStream (multi-channel sound). The settings about the resolution & HDR are
to be found under Display > HDMI. The screen position can be changed under Display >
HDMI > Zoom.
- Do not expose this device to rain. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on this device.
- Use only the recommended accessories.
- Do not repair this device yourself. Contact qualified service personnel for service.
- Do not drop metal or heavy objects on this device.
- Ensure that the voltage of the power supply is that specified on this device corresponds.
- Insert the power plug completely into the socket.
- Do not pull on the cable, kink it or place it in a heavy position Objects on it.
- Do not handle the plug with wet hands. When pulling out the plug, grasp it by ist body.
- Do not use a damaged power plug or socket.
- Install this device so that the power cord is immediately unplugged from the wall outlet if malfunctions occur.
Verbinden Sie das beiliegende HDMI-Kabel mit Ihrem Fernseher oder Monitor.
Verbinden Sie das Netzteil mit dem TR43 und der Steckdose. Das Gerät startet
automatisch bei Stromzufuhr und das Front-Display leuchtet auf.
Um die Airmouse & Mikrofon-Funktion nutzen zu können, muss die Fernbedienung per
Bluetooth mit dem TR43 gekoppelt werden: navigieren Sie dazu zu Settings >
Fernbedienungen & Zubehör. Drücken und halten Sie gleichzeitig die OK-Taste und die
Return-Taste bis die LED anfängt zu blinken. Anschließend sollte die Fernbedienung
im Menü erscheinen. Drücken Sie OK um beide zu verbinden.
Die Oberfläche hat bereits einige Verknüpfungen integriert, die Sie je nach Wunsch
individuell anpassen können. Durch das „Plus“ Zeichen oben rechts lassen
sich Verknüpfungen von Apps direkt hinzufügen oder löschen. Mit dem Klick
auf das Zahnrad unten gelangen Sie in die Einstellungen für Sprache, Uhrzeit,
Netzwerkeinstellungen, Bildschirmgröße uvm. Durch gedrückt halten kann eine
angewählte App verschoben oder auch komplett deinstalliert werden.
Vereinzelte Apps (z.B. Disney+/Netflix) sind eher für eine Touchscreen-Bedienung ausgelegt.
Man kann diese Bewegungen mit der Fernbedienung ebenfalls ausführen, indem die
OK-Taste gedrückt gehalten und anschließend nach oben "gezogen" wird (um eine
entsprechende Wischgeste nach oben zu simulieren). Alternativ kann auch eine Maus
mit Mausrad genutzt werden. So kann generell in allen Apps auch nach unten bzw. oben
gescrollt werden.
Spracheinstellungen
Je nach Wunsch können Sie die Sprache umstellen. Die Standardsprache ist englisch.
Home Screen > Settings > Device Preferences > Language
Anschließend die gewünschte Sprache anklicken.
Zeitzoneneinstellungen
Die richtige Zeit und Zeitzone können Sie folgendermaßen einstellen:
Home Screen > Settings > Geräteeinstellungen > Datum & Uhrzeit
WLAN-Einstellungen
Um den TR43 mit dem WLAN zu verbinden sind folgende Schritte notwendig:
Home Screen > Settings > Netzwerk & Internet > WLAN > um verfügbare Netze abzurufen.
Mit einem Klick auf das gewünschte WLAN-Netz und der Eingabe des korrekten
Passwortes wird direkt eine Verbindung aufgebaut (wir empfehlen im 5GHz Bereich
Kanäle unter 100). Alternativ lässt sich das Gerät auch mittels LAN-Anschluss verbinden.

Weitere Einstellungen finden Sie unter Home Screen > Apps > Einstellungen
Apps installieren
In der Regel werden Apps über den Google Play Store heruntergeladen und installiert.
Um auf diesen zugreifen zu können, ist ein (kostenfreier) Google Account zwingend
notwendig. Mit Klick auf die Google Play Store App haben Sie die Möglichkeit sich neu zu
registrieren oder sich mit Ihrem vorhandenen Account anzumelden. Home Screen ->
Google Store. Bitte beachten Sie, dass im Store generell weitere Kosten entstehen können.
Alternativ lassen sich auch nicht im Play Store verfügbare Apps (z.B. Netflix) per .apk-Datei
manuell installieren (falls in Ihrem Land auf bestimmte Apps eine Restriktion vorliegt).
Viele Streamingdienste lassen sich auch alternativ über den Browser (z.B. Chrome mit
Desktop-Ansicht) nutzen.
Um eine App direkt automatisch nach dem Hochfahren zu starten, empfehlen wir eine sog.
Autostart-App. Im Play Store gibt es dazu eine große Auswahl.
App-Verknüpfungen auf dem Hauptbildschirm hinzufügen
Weitere Verknüpfungen lassen sich mit dem Klick auf das „Plus“-Symbol erstellen. In der
Übersicht können Sie anschließend Apps mit setzen eines Hakens (Taste OK) mit dem
Hauptbildschirm verknüpfen bzw. mit entfernen wieder lösen.
Video/Audio-Einstellungen
Die Einstellungen dazu sind unter Home Screen > Settings > Ton und Decode & Bitstream
(passthrough) zu finden.
Die Einstellungen für die Auflösung & HDR sind unter Display > HDMI > Resolution zu
finden. Der Bildschirmausschnitt kann unter Zoom verkleinert bzw. vergrößert werden.
USB Stick/Festplatte
Schließen Sie den Stick oder die externe Festplatte per USB an.
Bitte unbedingt beachten: Android™ bietet von Haus aus keine Funktion zur
Formatierung/Partitionierung. Die Festplatte/SSD muss bereits
über eine Partition/Formatierung verfügen (FAT32 oder NTFS/GPT). Die vorinstallierte
X-Plore App ist ein Datei Manager um Dateien zu verschieben,kopieren, löschen etc.
microSD-Karte
Schieben Sie die microSD-Karte in den leeren SD-Kartenslot (max. 256GB).
Öffnen Sie nun z.B. das „KODI Mediacenter“ oder andere Videoplayer (VLC, MX Player)
um Videos oder Filme abzurufen.
Q: Wie kann ich das Gerät runterfahren und nicht nur in den Standby?

Q: Wie erhalte ich eine Movie Wall/Filmposter?

zugreifen?
A: Im vorinstallierten Datei-Manager werden direkt die USB-Festplatte/Stick und die
SD-Karte angezeigt. In anderen Datei-Managern und Apps muss man durch das
Android Datei-System navigieren. Android benutzt ein anderes Datei-System wie
Windows, alles fängt beim Rootverzeichnis / an und danach folgen alle Verzeichnisse
und Laufwerke. Die USB-Speichermedien und die SD-Karte befinden sich unter
/storage
Q: Apps wie z.B. Netflix werden als nicht kompatibel angezeigt?
A: Die meisten Apps (wie z.B. Netflix) können trotzdem genutzt werden. Über z.B.
apkmirror können die Installationsdateien (.apk) manuell runtergeladen und
installiert werden.
Q: Meine angeschlossene Tastatur gibt nur das US-Layout (z.B. Y statt Z) aus?
A: Unter Einstellungen > Geräteeinstellungen > Tastatur & Autofill > Physische Tastatur
muss bei der angeschlossenen Tastatur unter "Tastaturlayout einrichten“ Deutsch
ausgewählt werden.
Q: Meine Videos werden ohne Ton oder nur Stereo statt 5.1 DTS/Dolby abgespielt?
A: Unter Geräteinstellungen -> Ton können die entsprechenden Formate aktiviert werden
(HDMI Bitstream / SPDIF passthrough). Wir empfehlen als Videoplayer das vorinstallierte
KODI Mediacenter zu nutzen. Achten Sie dort auch die entsprechenden
Audio-Einstellungen (wichtig: Expertenansicht aktivieren!) je nach eigener Ausstattung
(z.B. AV-Receiver, siehe auch https://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/System/Audio)
Q: Das KODI Mediacenter zeigt mir nur 1080p statt einer 4K Auflösung an?
A: Der Standard-Skin ist (aus Geschwindigkeitsgründen) auf 1080p limitiert.
Videos werden (wenn vorhanden/möglich) in 4K Auflösung abgespielt.
Q: Wo erhalte ich Firmwareupdates?
A: Installieren Sie nur direkt von Orbsmart bereitgestellte Firmwareupdates. Bei
Verwendung einer fremden Firmware droht eine Beschädigung des Gerätes.

To activate the Airmouse & Microphone feature, the remote control must be paired with
the TR43 via Bluetooth: navigate to Settings > Remotes & Accessories. Simultaneously
press and hold the OK button and the Return button until the LED starts flashing. Then
the remote control should appear in the menu. Press OK to connect both.
