General Description
The SY89537L integrated, programmable clock
synthesizer and fanout buffer evaluation board is
designed for convenient setup and quick evaluation of
the device. The evaluation board has AC-coupled
outputs and is optimized to interface directly to 50Ω
test equipment. For increased flexibility, the
SY89537L evaluation board has both an on-board
16.6MHz series resonant crystal, and provisions to
accept an external reference input.

Evaluation Board Description
Crystal and DC-Coupled Reference Inputs
The SY89537L evaluation board is designed to
accept either a reference DC-coupled input or a
crystal, which is mounted on the evaluation board.
The DC-coupled reference input accepts any input
logic standard including single-ended and differential
TTL/CMOS, LVPECL, LVDS, HSTL, and SSTL.
External Loop Filter
The SY89537L features a user configurable external
loop filter. The evaluation board has been configured
for ultra-low total jitter and best reference spur
reduction. The evaluation board can be reconfigured
for best stability and ultra-low, cycle-to-cycle jitter by
substituting the pole capacitor C5 with a 100pF
capacitor.
AC-Coupled Output
The SY89537L is packaged in a 44-pin MLFâ„¢. The
SY89537L evaluation board is designed to operate
from a +3.3V or +2.5V source to power the output
buffers and from a +3.3V source to power the chip
core. The LVPECL and LVDS outputs are configured
in AC-coupled configuration designed to drive 50Ω
equipment.
