Pre-use Notes
1. Make sure Pencil A8 is compatible with your iPad.
-You can find your iPad model name in iPad Settings: Settings > Tap General > Tap About >
Model name
-Metapen A8 ONLY works with models below:
iPad Pro 13-inch M4
iPad Pro 12.9-inch 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd Gen
iPad Pro 11-inch M4, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st Gen
iPad 10th, 9th, 8th, 7th, 6th Gen
iPad Air M2, 5th, 3rd, 4th Gen
iPad Mini 6th/5th Gen
Not supports iPhone, Android device, Surface, Chromebook, Kobo
2. Ensure your iPad is running iOS 12.2 or later.
3. If your iPad has previously paired with an Apple Pencil, unpair before using Metapen A8.
4. Charge A8 for 10 minutes before first use.
5. Double tap the rounded end of pencil A8 with your finger to turn it on/off. No need to
connect Bluetooth or apps.
6. Pencil A8 will auto turn of in 5 minutes of inactivity.
Quick Troubleshooting for Pencil A8
➢ My iPad is compatible with A8, why it doesn't seem to work?
Before first use, please charge A8 for 10 minutes and confirm the following settings:
① Double tap the rounded end of pencil A8 with your finger to turn it on/off.
② Loosen the pen tip a bit or replace the tip.
③ Ensure your iPad is running iOS 12.2 or later.
④ Unpair Apple Pencil (if you have) in your iPad: Go to Settings > Bluetooth > Tap i next ‘ ’
to Apple Pencil > Forget This Device."
⑤ Settings--->Apple Pencil--->Turn off "Only draw with Apple Pencil".
⑥ If your iPad's original screen has been replaced, the A8 may not work.
➢ Why can't I pair my iPad with A8 via Bluetooth?
The Pencil A8 does not have Bluetooth Function. As long as the iPad is compatible with the
A8, just double-tap the rounded end of pencil A8 with your finger to turn it on and it will
work on the iPad.
➢ Why doesn't palm rejection work?
Please go to iPad Settings >Apple Pencil--->Turn on "Only draw with Apple Pencil".---

➢ Why can't I swipe down with the pencil A8 to open the Control Center or swipe up
to enter the Task Center?
To prevent accidental touches while writing or drawing near the edges of the screen, the iPad
disables swipe gestures for iPad pencil. This behavior is the same as with the original Apple
Pencil.
➢ Why does the pen work in some areas of screen but not others?
If your iPad's original screen has been replaced, the A8 may not work properly.
➢ Why did the battery run out so quickly?
Under normal circumstances, the A8 should last for around 10 hours on a full charge. If the
battery drains quickly, you may have a defective product. Please reach out to us.
➢ Why doesn't tilt sensitivity work?
Tilt sensitivity is designed for certain brushes such as pencil, crayon, and marker brushes. You
can select any pencil brush under "Sketch" in iPad Notes or Procreate, such as "HB Pencil",
and tilt the pen at different angles to get different shading effects.
➢ Why doesn't pressure sensitivity work?
Only original Apple Pencil have this feature. However, popular apps like Procreate,
Goodnotes, and Noteshelf can simulate pressure sensitivity by adjusting brush effects, size,
flow, etc.
➢ Why can't I power on the pen after double-tapping it?
Please quickly double-tap the rounded end of pencil A8 with your finger to turn it on/off. If it
doesn't work, you may have received a defective product. Please contact us.
➢ Why doesn't the Pencil A8 support custom functions in the Wellnote APP?
The custom function in the Wellnote APP is only for the pencil A11 and D1 with Bluetooth.
The pencil A8 can only use the note-taking function in Wellnote.
