Thank you for purchasing a Mellerware product. Mellerware guarantees

that your product has been thoroughly inspected and tested before being

dispatched and is free from mechanical or electrical defects and complies

with the applicable safety standards. With every Mellerware product

purchased you will receive up to a 3 year warranty as detailed in the terms

and conditions below.

FIRST YEAR – 1 YEAR RETAIL WARRANTY

Should defects due to faulty parts or workmanship develop, under normal

domestic use, within 12 months from the original date of purchase please

return the product to the store from where it was purchased for a refund

or replacement at the discretion of the brand. Mellerware appliances are

intended for domestic use only and not for industrial or professional use.

The Warranty, if the product is used outside of domestic use or used in a

commercial environment, is reduced to 3 months with no extended war-

ranty available, all other terms and conditions applicable.

SECOND YEAR – OPTIONAL 1 YEAR ADDITIONAL EXTENDED

ONLINE WARRANTY REGISTRATION

Mellerware takes pride in its product quality and therefore offer an

extended 12 month warranty over and above the 1 Year Retail Warranty.

Should defects due to faulty material or workmanship develop, under normal

domestic use, after the initial 12 month period and within 24 months from

the original date of purchase, please return the product to Mellerware for

repair. Mellerware will assess and repair the product free of charge should

it be found to be a valid warranty claim and will return it to you directly.

Mellerware will replace a product with a similar product in the same or

better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever reason.

Should the product fall outside of the warranty, Mellerware will produce a

repair and delivery quotation for your approval.

THIRD YEAR – OPTIONAL 1 YEAR ADDITIONAL EXTENDED

COMMUNICATION OPT IN WARRANTY

Mellerware takes pride in its product quality and therefore offer an addi-

tional 12 month warranty over and above the 1 Year Retail and 1 year

online registration warranty. Should defects due to faulty material or

workmanship develop, under normal domestic use, after the initial 12 month

period, the extended online registration 12 month period and within 36

months from the original date of purchase, please return the product to

Mellerware for repair. Mellerware will assess and repair the product free of

charge should it be found to be a valid warranty claim and will return it to

you directly. Mellerware will replace a product with a similar product in the

same or better condition, if the repair cannot be conducted for whatever

reason. Should the product fall outside of the warranty, Mellerware will

produce a repair and delivery quotation for your approval.

opt-in email communication. Should you wish to qualify for the additional

third year extended warranty, you would need to have registered your

warranty within the rst 12 months from date of purchase and subscribed

to receive brand communication. The extended warranty is conditional

upon these requirements. Please note that you are however free to opt

out at any stage in accordance with the POPI act, this will however result

in you forfeiting this additional extended “communication opt in” warranty

from the recorded opt-out date.

Before returning your product, check the following:

•Your household mains supply socket is in good condition, working and

switched on.

• The mains supply circuit is not overloaded (white trip switch on your

DB board is off).

•You have read the trouble shooting guide in your Instructions for Use.

•All accessories and parts are present.

The following conditions apply:

1. Please ensure you retain your original receipt as this must be

presented when making a claim under the terms of the warranty.

It is impossible to determine the warranty period without proof of

purchase, so please keep this in a safe place. (NB. Your original receipt

can be scanned onto the Mellerware website [www.mellerware.co.za]

or Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd [www.creativehousewares.co.za]

for safe storage.)

2. If a refund or exchange is required the product must be complete

with all accessories, parts and packaging. Missing parts will render the

warranty void. Any refund or exchange remains at the brands discre-

tion beyond the implied warranty granted by the CPA.

3. Upon receipt of your appliance, check it for any transport damage to

ensure it is safe for use. Return it to the store as soon as possible for

exchange if damaged. The warranty is void if products are damaged

after use, so please do not use a damaged product.

4. Any alteration made to the appliance purchased will void the warranty.

5. Your product is designed for normal domestic household use. Failure

to read and comply with the instructions for use, cleaning and

maintenance will render your warranty void, so please read these

instructions carefully to ensure your safety, and to get the most effec-

tive use from the product (e.g. not removing limescale; water deposits;

insect infestation, and/or burnt products).

6. Any abuse, negligent, improper or accidental use or care will render

the warranty void and Creative Housewares (Pty) Ltd will not be

liable for any loss or damage.

7. Any attempted repair, or replacement of unauthorised parts will ren-

der the warranty void, so please contact an authorised service centre

or service agent for any service or repair requirements.

8. NB: The warranty on replaced products will be from the original date

of purchase and not from when the date replacement was made.

9. All repairs carry a 3 month warranty even if this falls outside of the

warranty period.

10. Mellerware will attempt to conduct repairs within reasonable time,

this in line with industry standards but cannot be held responsible or

liable for any circumstances not under the brand’s control.

11. This warranty does not apply to glass components, lters, consum-

ables, and other parts subject to fair wear and tear.

Repairs out of the warranty period:

If service or repair becomes necessary outside the warranty period, this

service is still available however all transport/postage, spares and labour

costs will be for the customers’ account. All chargeable repairs will require

the customers’ written acceptance of the quote. Once the go-ahead has

been received Mellerware will undertake to conduct the repair within a

reasonable time and maintain the condition of the product as received. All

repairs carry a warranty of 3 months from the date of the repair.

Read these instructions carefully before

switching on the kettle and keep them for future

reference. Failure to follow and observe these

instructions could lead to an accident. Clean all

the parts of the product that will be in contact

with water, as indicated in the cleaning section,

before use.

2.1. Use or working environment.

2.1.1. Keep the working area clean and well lit.

Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.

2.1.2. Use the kettle in a well ventilated area.

2.1.3. Keep children and bystanders away when

using this kettle.

2.1.4. Place the kettle on a horizontal, flat,

stable surface suitable for withstanding high

temperatures and away from other heat sources

and contact with water.

2.1.5. Keep the kettle away from flammable

material such as textiles, curtains, cardboard or

paper, etc.

2.1.6. Do not place flammable material near the

kettle.

2.1.7. Do not use the kettle if it has fallen on the

floor or if there are visible signs of damage.

2.2. Personal safety:

2.2.1. CAUTION: Do not leave the kettle unattend-

ed during use as there is a risk of an accident.

2.2.2. Do not touch the heated parts of the kettle,

as it may cause serious burns.

2.2.3. This kettle is only for domestic use, not for

industrial or professional use. It is not intended to

be used in hospitality environments such as bed

and breakfast, hotels, motels, and other types of

residential environments, even in farm houses,

areas of the kitchen staff in shops, offices and

other work environments.

2.2.4. This kettle is not intended for use by

persons (including children) with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack

of experience and knowledge, unless they have

been given supervision or instruction concerning

use of the kettle by a person responsible for their

safety.

2.2.5. This kettle is not a toy. Children should be

supervised to ensure that they do not play with

the kettle.

2.3. Use and care:

2.3.1. Do not use the kettle if the parts or acces-

sories are not properly fitted.

2.3.2. Do not use the kettle when empty.

2.3.3. Do not cover the cooking surface or food

with aluminium foil and other similar materials.

(If applicable)

2.3.4. This kettle should be stored out of reach

of children.

2.3.5. Do not store the kettle if it is still hot.

2.3.6. Never leave the kettle unattended when

in use.

2.3.7. If for some reason the kettle were to catch

fire, DO NOT USE WATER TO PUT THE FIRE OUT.

2.4. Service:

2.4.1. Make sure that the kettle is serviced only

by suitably qualified technician, and that only

original spare parts or accessories are used to

replace existing parts/accessories.

2.4.2. Any misuse or failure to follow the instruc-

tions for use renders the guarantee and the

manufacturer’s liability null and void.

3. Instructions for use:

3.1. Before use:

3.1.1. Remove the kettle’s protective film(if

applicable).

3.1.2. Before using the product for the first time,

clean the parts that will come into contact with

water in the manner described in the cleaning

section.

3.2. Use:

3.2.1. Simply remove the stainless steel lid then

fill with water (bearing in mind p1-he MAX mark on

the kettle). DO NOT fill the water over the spout

of kettle. Overfilling the kettle can cause hot

water to spill out of the spout resulting in serious

injuries. Replace the lid before heating. When

using the Kettle, always ensure that the handle is

in the upright position. In hard water areas, using

purified or filtered water is recommended to

reduce the amount of scale build up in the kettle.

3.2.2. Warning: If the kettle has just boiled it

will be full of steam that will escape if the lid is

opened.

3.2.3. IMPORTANT: Do not open the lid when

steam is coming out of the spout.

3.2.4. The kettle features an single bottom base

for quick even heating, therefore high heat is not

necessary. Use a medium to medium-high heat

setting. Always use a burner that is smaller in

diameter than the bottom of the kettle.

3.2.5. lf you are using a gas burning stove do

not let the flames rise up along the sides of the

Kettle. This can permanently discolor or damage

the kettle.

3.2.6. lt is important to monitor your Kettle while

heating water on your stove. Never leave a heat-

ing kettle unattended.

3.2.7. After heating the water, turn off the burner/

stove and let the Kettle stand for approximately

60 seconds before removing from the stove and

pouring.

3.2.8. CAUTION: The steam escaping from the

kettle will be very hot, therefore use extreme cau-

tion and point the spout away from your body.

While the nylon on the handle will resist heat, the

exposed portion of the metal handle on the kettle

will get hot when heated. We recommend using a

pot holder or oven mitt at all times.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance:

4.1. DESCALING

Scaling or furring is a common problem in hard

water areas.

4.2. Fill the kettle to MAX position and boil the

water. Remove the kettle from the stove and

place it in an empty sink or bowl.

4.3. Add 50 grams of Citric Acid (available from

chemists) or other descaler products (available

at supermarkets) to the water or as directed.

4.4. Leave it to stand for approximately 5

minutes or until the effervescence subsides, and

then empty the water. Rinse thoroughly, and wipe

after cooling.

4.5. CLEANING

The kettle is not dishwasher safe and should be

hand washed only. To clean simply use warm

water, a mild dish-washing soap and a soft

sponge or nylon pad. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

4.6. Always allow the kettle to cool completely

before cleaning. Never submerge a hot kettle in

cold water.

4.7. Do not use harsh cleansers or abrasive

cleaning pads such as steel wool.

5. Anomalies and repair:

5.1. Take the kettle to an authorised support

centre if product is damaged or other problems

arise.

6. Additional warnings for kettles:

6.1. Do not overfill. Check the water MAX level

when filling.

6.2. Ensure the lid is closed properly, to prevent

water splashing out when boiling. Do not open

the lid when boiling.

6.3. Take care when pouring. Pour slowly and do

not over-tilt.

6.4. Make sure the kettle is always used on a flat

surface.

6.5. Water will remain hot for a considerable time

after boiling and will present a scalding hazard.

Take care and keep away from children.

6.6. The outside surface of the kettle will become

hot during use. To avoid injuries only hold the

handle.

6.7. Take care to avoid contact with the steam

coming from the lid or spout.

6.8. This kettle is constructed of stainless steel

which is a heat conductor. ALL parts of the kettle

including the body, handle and cover will get hot

when heated. Use a pot holder or oven mitt AT

ALL TIMES.

6.9. The steam escaping from the Kettle is very

hot. ALWAYS use extreme caution and position

kettle away from your body.

6.10. DO NOT heat the Kettle when empty.

6.11. NEVER let your Kettle boil dry. If this

occurs do not attempt to move or remove the

Kettle from your stove-top until it has completely

cooled.

6.12. NEVER leave the Kettle unattended on a hot

stove-top.

6.13. ALWAYS empty the Kettle of excess water

after each use.

6.14. Remove the infuser from the Kettle before

you heat the water.

6.15. For stove-top use only. Do not heat in

microwave or in the oven.

7. Recycling

7.1. These products should not be mixed with

general household waste. For proper recycling,

please take these products to your nearest

Creative Housewares office where they will be

accepted for recycling free of charge.

7.2. Alternatively, please contact your local

authority or household waste disposal service

for further details of your nearest designated

collection point. Correct product disposal saves

resources and prevents negative effects on

human health and the environment.

Lees hierdie instruksies sorgvuldig voordat u die

4.4. Laat dit sowat 5 minute staan of totdat

die bruis weg is, en leeg dan die water. Spoel

deeglik af, en vee af na afkoeling.

4.5. SKOONMAAK

Die ketel is nie vaatwasmakerig nie en moet

slegs met die hand gewas word. Gebruik warm

water, ‘n sagte skottelgoedseep en ‘n sagte

spons of nylonspons om skoon te maak. Spoel

deeglik af en droog goed.

4.6. Laat altyd die ketel heeltemal afkoel voordat

u dit skoonmaak. Moet nooit ‘n warm ketel in

koue water dompel nie.

4.7. Moet nie aggressiewe skoonmaakmiddels

of skuursponsies soos staalwol gebruik nie.

5. Anomalieë en Herstel:

5.1. Neem die ketel na ‘n gemagtigde onder-

steuning sentrum as die produk beskadig is of

ander probleme ontstaan.

6. Addisionele waarskuwings vir ketels:

6.1. Moet nie oorvul nie. Kontroleer die water

MAX-vlak tydens vul.

6.2. Maak seker dat die deksel behoorlik gesluit

is om te voorkom dat water spat wanneer dit

kook. Moet nie die deksel oopmaak wanneer dit

kook nie.

6.3. Wees versigtig wanneer u giet. Giet stadig

en kantel nie te veel nie.

6.4. Maak seker dat die ketel altyd op ‘n plat

oppervlak gebruik word.

6.5. Water bly lank warm na kook en bied ‘n

brandgevaar. Wees versigtig en hou dit weg van

kinders.

6.6. Die buite-oppervlak van die ketel sal

warm word tydens gebruik. Hou slegs aan die

handvatsel.

6.7. Wees versigtig om nie met die stoom van

die deksel of tuit in kontak te kom nie.

6.8. Hierdie ketel is van roes vrye staal gemaak

wat ‘n hittegeleier is. ALLE dele van die ketel,

insluitend die liggaam, handvatsel en deksel, sal

warm word wanneer dit verhit word. Gebruik te

alle tye ‘n pot-houer of oondwant.

6.9. Die stoom wat uit die Ketel ontsnap, is

baie warm. Gebruik ALTYD uiterste sorg en

posisioneer die ketel weg van u liggaam.

6.10. MOET die Ketel nie verhit nie wanneer dit

leeg is nie.

6.11. MOET NOOIT u Ketel droog kook nie. As

dit gebeur, probeer nie die Ketel van die stoof

af beweeg of verwyder totdat dit heeltemal

afgekoel het.

6.12. LAAT NIE die Ketel onbeheerd op ‘n warm

stoof staan nie.

6.13. Maak altyd die Ketel leeg van oortollige

water na elke gebruik.

6.14. Verwyder die infuser uit die Ketel voordat

u die water verhit.

6.15. Vir gebruik op stoof alleen. Moet nie in die

mikrogolf of oond verhit word nie.

7. Herwinning

7.1. Hierdie produkte moet nie met algemene

huishoudelike afval gemeng word nie. Vir

korrekte herwinning, neem asseblief hierdie

produkte na jou naaste Creative Housewares-

kantoor waar dit gratis vir herwinning aanvaar

sal word.

7.2. Alternatiewelik, kontak asseblief jou

plaaslike owerheid of huishoudelike afval-

verwyderingsdiens vir verdere inligting oor

jou naaste aangewese insamelingspunt.

Korrekte produkverwydering spaar hulpbronne

en voorkom negatiewe uitwerkings op menslike

2.1.7. Moet die ketel nie gebruik as dit op die

2.2.4. Hierdie ketel is nie bedoel vir gebruik deur

persone (insluitend kinders) met verminderde

fisieke, sensoriese of geestelike vermoëns, of ‘n

gebrek aan ervaring en kennis, tensy hulle toesig

of onderrig oor die gebruik van die ketel deur ‘n

persoon wat verantwoordelik is vir hul veiligheid,

ontvang het.

2.2.5. Hierdie ketel is nie ‘n speelding nie.

Kinders moet onder toesig wees om te verseker

dat hulle nie met die ketel speel nie.

2.3. Gebruik en sorg:

2.3.1. Moet nie die ketel gebruik as die dele of

bykomstighede nie behoorlik pas nie.

2.3.2. Moet nie die ketel gebruik as dit leeg is

nie.

2.3.3. Moet nie die kookoppervlak of kos bedek

met aluminium foelie en ander soortgelyke

2.4. Diens:

2.4.1. Verseker dat die ketel slegs deur ‘n

toepaslik gekwalifiseerde tegnikus gedien word,

en dat slegs oorspronklike spaaronderdele of

bykomstighede gebruik word om bestaande dele/

bykomstighede te vervang.

2.4.2. Enige misbruik of die versuim om die

gebruiks instruksies te volg, maak die waarborg

en die vervaardiger se aanspreeklikheid nietig en

van geen waarde.

3. Gebruiksinstruksies:

3.1. Voor gebruik:

3.1.1. Verwyder die beskermende film van die

ketel (indien van toepassing).

3.1.2. Voordat u die produk vir die eerste keer

gebruik, skoon die dele wat met water in kontak

sal kom op die wyse beskryf in die skoon-

maakafdeling.

3.2. Gebruik:

3.2.1. Verwyder eenvoudig die roes vrye staal

deksel en vul met water (met inagneming van

die MAX-merk op die ketel). VUL NIE die water

ketel kan veroorsaak dat warm water uit die tuit

spat en ernstige beserings veroorsaak. Plaas

die deksel terug voordat u verhit. Wanneer die

Ketel gebruik word, moet u altyd seker maak dat

die handvatsel in die regop posisie is. In harde

waterareas word dit aanbeveel om gesuiwerde of

gefiltreerde water te gebruik om die opbou van

skaal in die ketel te verminder.

3.2.2. Waarskuwing: As die ketel pas gekook het,

sal dit vol stoom wees wat ontsnap as die deksel

oopgemaak word.

3.2.3. BELANGRIK: Moet nie die deksel oopmaak

wanneer stoom uit die tuit kom nie.

3.2.4. Die ketel het ‘n enkele bodem basis vir

vinnige, ewe verhitting, daarom is hoë hitte nie

nodig nie. Gebruik ‘n medium tot medium-hoë

hitte instelling. Gebruik altyd ‘n brander wat

kleiner in deursnee is as die bodem van die ketel.

3.2.5. As u ‘n gasbrandstoof gebruik, laat nie die

vlamme langs die kante van die Ketel opkom nie.

Dit kan die ketel permanent verkleur of beskadig.

3.2.6. Dit is belangrik om u Ketel dop te hou

terwyl u water op u stoof verhit. Moet nooit ‘n

verhittingsketel onbeheerd agterlaat nie.

3.2.7. Na die verhitting van die water, skakel

die brander/stoof af en laat die Ketel sowat 60

sekondes staan voordat u dit van die stoof af

verwyder en uitsit.

3.2.8. VOORSIGTIG: Die stoom wat uit die ketel

ontsnap, sal baie warm wees. Gebruik dus

uiterste sorg en wys die tuit weg van u liggaam.

Terwyl die nylongreep hittebestandig is, sal die

bloot gestelde deel van die metaalgreep aan

die ketel warm word wanneer dit verhit word.
