scientific studies. The standards include a substantial safety margin

designedtoassurethe safetyofallpersons,regardless ofageand

Theexposure standardforwireless mobilephones employs aunitof

measurementknownas theSpecificAbsorptionRate,orSAR.TheSARlimit set

bytheFCCis 1.6W/kg.*Tests forSARareconductedwiththephone

transmittingatits highestcertifiedpowerlevelinalltestedfrequencybands.

AlthoughtheSARis determinedatthehighestcertifiedpowerlevel,theactual

SARlevelofthephonewhileoperatingcanbewellbelowthemaximumvalue.

This is becausethephoneis designedtooperateatmultiplepowerlevels soas to

useonlythepowerrequiredtoreachthenetwork.Ingeneral,thecloseryouare

toawireless base stationantenna,thelowerthepoweroutput.Beforeaphone

modelis availablefor saletothepublic,itmustbetestedandcertifiedtothe

FCCthatitdoes notexceedthelimitestablishedbythegovernmentadopted

requirementfor safeexposure.Thetests areperformedinpositions and
