Locking the Casters
Important! Attach the casters before using the stand.
When mounting a light xture, rst lower the stand to its minimum height.
Both risers are equipped with gear boxes with an auto-lock system and
locking slots that span the length of the risers. As you raise a riser, a
security pin clicks into each slot to prevent it from accidentally descending.
The risers are individually driven, so each riser height is manually adjusted
from the gear boxes with the ratchet handle.
Note: When properly tightened,
the caster stud should not rotate.
Important! For large light xtures,
two people should lift and mount
the light into the junior receiver.
1. Place the stand on its side.
2. Lock the caster so it won’t
rotate during installation.
3. Slide the wheel stud into the
caster receiver.
4. Tighten the hex nut with the
included M6 hex key.
1. Loosen the junior receiver’s
locking knob. Unscrew
it enough so the locking
knob’s bolt does not obstruct
the receiver.
2. Lift the light xture and
insert the junior pin into the
stand’s junior receiver.
1. Step on the left side to On
lock the wheels.
1. Make sure you have
adequate space to
accommodate the stand’s
footprint diameter.
2. Place the stand upright on
its casters and make sure
the casters are unlocked.
3. Loosen the spider locking
knob.
4. Press down on the lower
spider handle to spread the
legs a few inches. When the
legs are spread, the casters
will roll outward and the
base spider will drop until
it hits the blue stop and the
leg struts are parallel to
the oor.
5. Tighten the spider locking
knob until secure.
3. Make sure the light is fully seated in the junior receiver and tighten
the locking knob until secure.
2. Step on the right side to Off
unlock the wheels.
3
Important! When lowering the stand, make sure hands and ngers are clear
of the risers and gear boxes. There should be no need to physically hold onto
the stand while it’s being lowered.
Important! The casters are
geared so they constantly remain
on the oor as the stand is
opening or closing. When moving
the stand in its closed position,
make sure to hold onto it at all
times. Be sure to maintain the
stand’s balance and to keep
it upright and standing on the
casters while it’s rolling.
Securing the stand with a tie-down kit (available separately) is
recommended when using the stand in windy conditions or on an uneven
surface.
The ratchet handle holder keeps the handle close by for quick height
adjustments and for safekeeping on a busy set.
To store, press the ratchet handle into the holder until it snaps into place.
To remove, press the brass release button and pull the handle out of the holder.
1. Loosen the riser lock.
2. Attach the ratchet handle
and set the selector to
DOWN.
1. Loosen the lower spider
locking knob.
2. Grip the lower spider handle
and lift it up. The casters
will roll inward as the spider
folds up.
3. When the legs and struts
are parallel to the main
(vertical) column, tighten the
spider lock.
1. Attach cables or ropes to the stand’s 3-hole tie-down collar.
2. Secure the ropes or straps to the ground with anchor points or stakes.
Lowering the Stand
Raising the Stand
Note: When raising the stand, start with the uppermost riser.
1. Attach the ratchet handle to
the appropriate gear box by
pressing it onto the square
hole in the gear drive.
2. Loosen the 2nd riser lock.
3. Set the ratchet selector
to .UP
4. Turn the ratchet handle
clockwise. When you raise
the riser, the release lever
will click as the auto-lock
pin engages into each
slot and prevents it from
descending.
5. Tighten the 2nd riser lock.
3. Press down and hold the
release lever.
4. Turn the ratchet handle
clockwise.
5. Tighten the riser lock.
