Ifyoureceivedadamagedfreezer,youshould
immediatelycontactyourdealerorbuilder.
Skill Level –Installationofthisfreezerrequiresbasic
mechanical,carpentryandplumbingskills.Proper
installation is the responsibility of the installer. Product
failureduetoimproperinstallationisnotcoveredunder
the GE Appliance Warranty. See the Owner’s Manual
forwarrantyinformation.
Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. For
personal safety, this appliance must be properly grounded.
Thepowercordofthisapplianceisequippedwitha
3-prong(grounding)plugwhichmateswithastandard
3-prong(grounding)walloutlettominimizethe
possibilityofelectricshockhazardfromthisappliance.
Havethewalloutletandcircuitcheckedbyaqualified
electriciantomakesuretheoutletisproperly
grounded.
Whereastandard2-prongwalloutletisencountered,it
isyourpersonalresponsibilityandobligationtohaveit
replacedwithaproperlygrounded3-prongwalloutlet.
The freezer should always be plugged into its own
individualelectricaloutletwhichhasavoltagerating
thatmatchestheratingplate.
A115VoltAC,60Hz,15-or20-ampfused,grounded
electricalsupplyisrequired.Itisrecommendedthata
separatecircuitservingonlyyourfreezerbeprovided.Use
anoutletthatcannotbeturnedoffbyaswitch.Donotuse
anextensioncord.Thisprovidesthebestperformance
andalsopreventsoverloadinghousewiringcircuitswhich
couldcauseafirehazardfromoverheatedwires.
Neverunplugyourfreezerbypullingon
thepowercord.Alwaysgripplugfirmlyand
pullstraightoutfromtheoutlet.
Immediatelydiscontinueuseofa
damagedsupplycord.Ifthesupply
cordisdamaged,itmustbereplaced
byaqualifiedserviceprofessionalwith
anauthorizedservicepartfromthe
manufacturer.
Whenmovingthefreezerawayfrom
thewall,becarefulnottorolloveror
damagethepowercord.
