This appliance should only be used for domestic cleaning, as described in this user guide. Please ensure that this guide is

fully understood before operating the appliance.

Always switch o and remove the charger from the socket before cleaning the appliance or any maintenance task.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental

capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the

appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not

play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

If the power cord is damaged stop using the appliance immediately. To avoid a safety hazard, an authorised Hoover service

engineer must replace the power cord. Use only the original charger supplied with the appliance.

WARNING: For the purposes of recharging the battery, only use the detachable supply unit (Ref.: EBS012A-2600650AG or

EBS012A-2600650AB) provided with this appliance.

If the pins of the plug parts are damaged, the plug-in power supply shall be scrapped.

Check that your supply voltage is the same as that stated on the charger. This appliance is supplied with a double

insulated battery charger which is only suitable for insertion in a 230V (UK 240V) socket outlet.

Plug the charger in to suitable socket outlet and connect the charger jack plug to the appliance.When charging the

appliance, the power switch lever must be in the o position.

Before rst use, charge your battery up to show fully charged in accordance with the instructions.

Re-connect the appliance to the charger after use to recharge the battery.

Never charge the batteries in temperatures above 37°C or below 0°C.

Do not expose the appliance or battery to excessive temperatures.

Be aware of the risk of terminals of the battery-operated appliance or battery being short circuited by metal objects.

If the appliance is to be stored unused for a long period, the batteries should be removed.

It is normal for the charger to become warm to the touch when charging.

Unplug the charger in the event of prolonged absence (holidays, etc.). Recharge appliance again before use as batteries

may self-discharge over increased periods of storage.

Use only attachments, consumables or spares recommended or supplied by Hoover.

Static electricity: some carpets can cause a small build up of static electricity. Any static discharge is not hazardous to

health.

Keep hands, feet, loose clothing and hair away from rotating brushes of product and any hand-held accessories with

rotating parts.

Do not unplug the charger by pulling on the power cord. Do not use your appliance out of doors or on any wet surface

or for wet pick up. Do not pick up hard or sharp objects, matches, hot ashes, cigarette ends or other similar items. Do not

spray with or pick up ammable liquids, cleaning uids, aerosols or their vapours. Do not run over the power cord when

using your appliance or remove the plug by pulling on the power cord. Do not continue to use your appliance or charger if

it appears faulty. Do not use the appliance to clean animals or people. Do not replace the batteries with non-rechargeable

batteries.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS RELATING TO THE BATTERY

Do not allow it to be used as a toy. Keep batteries (new and used) out of reach of children. If the battery housing cracks, do

not use the product.

If used incorrectly, the battery may lead to overheating, re or explosion and can cause serious, and even fatal, injuries.

Do not disassemble or alter the battery.

Do not install, charge or use this battery pack outdoors, on wet surface, in a bathroom or near a pool. Do not expose it to

ammable materials or sources of heat or moisture, rain, snow, splash or immerse it. Do not place it on or near a cooker or

any other hot surface.

Risk of explosion, leaking of liquid or ammable gases from the battery if it is kept at a high temperature (hot oven, re),

crushed, cut, or subjected to extremely low air pressure.

Exposure to re or temperatures above 140°F (60°C) may cause explosion. Do not incinerate the battery even if it is

severely damaged. The battery might catch re or explode.

Do not knock or drop the battery. Protect the battery against any blow or impact (e.g. falling from a high place).

If the battery must be replaced, always use approved HOOVER spare parts. See the approved battery reference provided in

the ‘ Technical data sheet ‘ section.

Do not use a battery pack that is damaged or modied. Damaged or modied batteries may exhibit unpredictable

behavior resulting in re, explosion or risk of injury. The battery pack may present a risk of re or chemical burn if

mistreated.

Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme usage or temperature conditions. If the liquid gets on skin, wash quickly
