IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Never use this power tool in a manner that has not been speciï cally recommended by metabo HPT.

GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and speciï cations provided with this power tool.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, ï re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term âpower toolâ in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated
(cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
ï ammable liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while
operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools.
Unmodiï ed plugs and matching outlets will
reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges
and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your
body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk
of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord
for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power
tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges
or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use
an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.

f) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to ï re or
excessive temperature.
Exposure to ï re or temperature above 265 °F may
cause explosion.
g) Follow all charging instructions and do
not charge the battery pack or tool outside
the temperature range speciï ed in the
instructions.
Charging improperly or at temperatures outside
the speciï ed range may damage the battery and
increase the risk of ï re.
6) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a
qualiï ed repair person using only identical
replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is
maintained.
b) Never service damaged battery packs.
Service of battery packs should only be
performed by the manufacturer or authorized
service providers.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES AND SYMBOLS
1. Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces,
when performing an operation where the cutting
accessory may contact hidden wiring.
Cutting accessory contacting a âliveâ wire may make
exposed metal parts of the power tool âliveâ and could
give the operator an electric shock.
2. Use clamps or another practical way to secure
and support the workpiece to a stable platform.
Holding the work by hand or against your body leaves
it unstable and may lead to loss of control.
3. ALWAYS wear ear protectors when using the tool
for extended periods.
Prolonged exposure to high intensity
noise can cause hearing loss.
4. NEVER touch moving parts. NEVER place your hands, ï ngers or
other body parts near the toolâs moving
parts.
5. NEVER operate without all guards in place.
NEVER operate this tool without all guards or safety
features in place and in proper working order. If
maintenance or servicing requires the removal of a
guard or safety feature, be sure to replace the guard
or safety feature before resuming operation of the
tool.
6. Use right tool.
Donât force small tool or attachment to do the job of a
heavy-duty tool.
Donât use tool for purpose not intended âfor
exampleâ donât use circular saw for cutting tree
limbs or logs.
7. NEVER use a power tool for applications other
than those speciï ed.
NEVER use a power tool for applications other than
those speciï ed in the Instruction Manual.
8. Handle tool correctly.
Operate the tool according to the instructions
provided herein. Do not drop or throw the tool.
NEVER allow the tool to be operated by children,
individuals unfamiliar with its operation or
unauthorized personnel.
9. Keep all screws, bolts and covers tightly in
place.
Keep all screws, bolts, and plates tightly mounted.
Check their condition periodically.
10. Do not use power tools if the plastic housing or
handle is cracked.
Cracks in the toolâs housing or handle can lead to
electric shock. Such tools should not be used until
repaired.
11. Blades and accessories must be securely
mounted to the tool.
Prevent potential injuries to yourself or others.
Blades, cutting implements and accessories which
have been mounted to the tool should be secure and
tight.
12. Handle the blades very carefully.
13. Check the blade carefully for cracks or damage
before operation. Replace cracked or damaged
bit immediately.
14. Avoid cutting nails. Inspect for and remove all
nails from the workpiece before operation.
15. Hold the tool ï rmly.
16. Keep motor air vent clean.
The toolâs motor air vent must be kept clean so that
air can freely ï ow at all times. Check for dust build-up
frequently.
17. NEVER use a tool which is defective or operating
abnormally.
If the tool appears to be operating unusually, making
strange noises, or otherwise appears defective, stop
using it immediately and arrange for repairs by a
metabo HPT authorized service center.
18. NEVER leave tool running unattended. Turn
power oïŹ .
Donât leave tool until it comes to a complete stop.
19. Carefully handle power tools.
Should a power tool be dropped or struck against
hard materials inadvertently, it may be deformed,
cracked, or damaged.
