15. Do not allow kettle to boil dry.

16. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the

same circuit.

17. Heater may remain hot after the kettle is turned off.

18. WARNING: If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.

19. WARNING: Scalding may occur if the lid is opened during the heating cycle.

20. Be certain kettle lid is securely in place during operation and when pouring hot

water. Do not use force when placing lid on kettle.

21. The kettle outer surface is subject to residual heat after use. Allow to cool before

This appliance is intended for household use only.

WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard: This appliance is provided with

either a polarized (one wide blade) or grounded (3-prong) plug to reduce the risk of

electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized or grounded outlet. Do not

defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using

an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does

not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.

The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of

becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an

approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord

must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the

grounding type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type, 3-wire cord. Care must

be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or

tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.

To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage appliance on

the same circuit with this appliance.

If using an extension cord, it should be connected to the unit’s power cord before it

is plugged into the outlet. In the case of a power failure, the same procedure should

be followed.

How to Use

CAUTION

Burn Hazard. Do not overfill kettle. Boiling water may spit out

of the spout.

Before first use: Press Open Button to lift Lid and fill Kettle with water to MAX fill line on Water

Level Window. Press Lid down until it locks in place. Press START/STOP button to turn Kettle ON.

Kettle will bring water to a boil, then shut off automatically. Discard water and repeat 2–3 times,

rinsing out Kettle each time. Kettle is now ready for use.

1. Plug into outlet. Water Level Window will illuminate in blue for 3 minutes.

2. Press Open Button to lift Lid. Fill Kettle with required amount of water. Ensure that water level is

between 0.5 L and MAX on Water Level Window. Always keep Mesh Filter in place.

3. Press down on Lid to close. Make sure Base is on a level surface.

4. Press desired Temperature Control Button and then press START/STOP button. The selected

Temperature Control Button will illuminate in blue and flash until temperature is reached. Kettle

will beep six times when selected temperature is reached. Pressing START/STOP button

without selecting a temperature will default to Boil mode.

5. If keep warm is desired, press KEEP WARM button at any time and Kettle will keep water at

selected temperature for 30 minutes.

6. After 30 minutes, Kettle will shut off. Always unplug when not in use.

NOTES:

• When Kettle is lifted from Base, KEEP WARM function stops. To resume KEEP WARM, follow

steps 4 and 5.

• Only use Kettle to heat water. If Kettle is used to heat other liquids, such as coffee or tea,

warranty will be voided.

If Kettle Floor Discolors:

It is normal for stainless steel heating elements to discolor. This does not affect performance of

Kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners since this may damage stainless steel surface.

If Kettle Boils Dry:

The heating element is protected by two automatic safety devices. If your Kettle is accidentally

switched on without being filled with water, or is allowed to boil dry, Kettle will automatically

switch off. You should:

• Unplug Kettle and wait about 20 minutes for element to cool down.

• Refill Kettle; then use as normal and check that Kettle functions correctly.

If Kettle Does Not Work:

Make these simple checks before contacting Customer Service:

• Have you pressed START/STOP button?

• If Kettle heats but does not boil, it might need descaling (see “Care and Cleaning” section).

• Has Kettle been accidentally turned on without being filled with water or allowed to boil dry?

Press START/STOP button, wait 20 minutes, and try again.

• Is cord firmly plugged into outlet and Kettle firmly seated in Base?

Anti-Scale Mesh Filter:

Scale is caused by lime and calcium in hard water. Mesh Filter will prevent these suspended

particles from being poured out of Kettle. Filter should be cleaned periodically to ensure

optimum performance.

Tea Guide

• Bring filtered or good-tasting tap water to a boil in Kettle. Use 6 ounces (177 mL) of water per

cup of tea.

• If using loose tea instead of tea bags, measure 1 rounded teaspoon of tea per cup into an infuser

and place infuser in cup. If no infuser is available, put tea directly into cup.

• Pour heated water directly over tea. For stronger tea, add more leaves rather than infusing longer

than is recommended. Tea that is oversteeped will become bitter. NOTE:

NOTE: These temperature settings can vary depending on a number of factors, such as altitude,

impurities in water, and amount of water in Kettle.

Care and Cleaning

WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not immerse kettle, base, or plug

in water or any other liquid. DO NOT PLACE IN A DISHWASHER FOR CLEANING.

1. With Kettle unplugged, empty any remaining water and rinse. Allow Kettle to cool. Mesh Filter

may be removed by pulling up on tab which is visible through Kettle opening. To replace Filter,

line up Filter with tab towards inside of Kettle and slide down until it snaps into place.

2. To avoid scale/lime deposit buildup, empty Kettle after each use. To remove discoloration

or scale/lime deposit from heating element: Place 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) cream of tartar

(available in spice aisle of grocery store) into Kettle. Then fill Kettle 1/2 full with water. Plug

into outlet, press START/STOP button, and bring to boil. Press START/STOP button. Unplug

and let cool. Rinse several times with clean tap water.

3. Wipe exterior of Kettle with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or powders

since they may scratch smooth surface of Kettle.

Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only

express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one

(1) year from the date of original delivery in the U.S. and Canada. During this period, your exclusive

AVERTISSEMENT

Risque de choc électrique : Cet appareil est doté d’une

fiche polarisée (lame plus large) ou d’une fiche (3 lames et mise à la terre) pour réduire le risque

d’électrocution. Cette fiche s’insère d’une seule manière dans une prise polarisée ou prise avec mise

à la terre. Ne pas transformer le dispositif de sécurité de la fiche en modifiant celle-ci de quelconque

façon ou en utilisant un adaptateur. Si vous ne pouvez pas insérer complètement la fiche dans la

prise, inversez la fiche. Si elle refuse toujours de s’insérer, faire remplacer la prise par un électricien.

La longueur du cordon installé sur cet appareil a été sélectionnée afin de réduire les risques

d’enchevêtrement ou de faux pas causés par un fil trop long. L’utilisation d’une rallonge approuvée

est permise si le cordon est trop court. Les caractéristiques électriques de la rallonge doivent être

équivalentes ou supérieures aux caractéristiques de l’appareil. Prendre toutes les précautions

nécessaires pour installer la rallonge de manière à ne pas la faire courir sur le comptoir ou sur une

table pour éviter qu’un enfant ne tire sur le cordon ou trébuche accidentellement.

Pour éviter la surcharge du circuit électrique, ne pas utiliser un autre appareil à haute puissance sur

le même circuit que cet appareil.

Avec l’utilisation d’une rallonge, celle-ci doit être branchée au cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil avant

de la brancher dans la prise murale. En cas de panne de courant, la même méthode doit être suivie.

Utilisation

ATTENTION

Risque de brûlures. Ne pas trop remplit la bouilloire. L’eau

brûlante peut jaillir hors du bec.

Avant la première utilisation : Appuyer sur le bouton OPEN (d’ouverture) pour soulever le couvercle et remplir la

bouilloire avec de l’eau jusqu’à la ligne de remplissage MAX du niveau gradué. Abaisser le couvercle jusqu’à ce

que ce dernier s’enclenche en place. Appuyer sur le bouton START/STOP (marche/arrêt) pour mettre la bouilloire

en marche. La bouilloire portera l’eau à ébullition puis se mettra hors tension automatiquement. Jeter l’eau et

répéter cette étape 2 à 3 fois en rinçant chaque fois la bouilloire. La bouilloire est maintenant prête à utiliser.

1. Brancher dans une prise de courant. La fenêtre du niveau d’eau s’illumine en bleu 3 minutes.

2. Appuyer sur le bouton d’ouverture pour soulever le couvercle. Remplir la bouilloire selon la

quantité d’eau nécessaire. S’assurer que la quantité d’eau se situe entre la ligne 0,5 L et MAX

du niveau gradué. Toujours garder le filtre métallique en place.

3. Abaisser le couvercle pour fermer. S’assurer que la base se trouve sur une surface à niveau.

4. Appuyer sur le bouton correspondant à la température souhaitée, puis sur le bouton START/

STOP (marche/arrêt). Le bouton de température choisie s’illuminera en bleu et clignotera tant

que la température n’est pas atteinte. La bouilloire émettra six signaux sonores dès que la

température choisie est atteinte. La bouilloire sera en mode d’ébullition (Boil) par défaut si

aucun bouton d’intensité de température n’est enfoncé avant d’avoir appuyé sur le bouton

START/STOP (marche/arrêt).

5. Si le mode de garde au chaud est souhaité, appuyer sur le bouton KEEP WARM en tout temps

et la bouilloire maintiendra l’eau à la température choisie pendant 30 minutes

6. La bouilloire s’éteindra après 30 minutes. Toujours débrancher la bouilloire dès la fin de son utilisation.

REMARQUES :

• La fonction KEEP WARM (garde au chaud) se désactive dès que la bouilloire est retirée du socle.

Répéter les étapes 4 et 5 pour réactiver cette fonction.

• N’utiliser la bouilloire que pour faire bouillir de l’eau. La garantie est annulée si la bouilloire est

utilisée pour faire bouillir d’autres sortes de liquides comme le café ou le thé.

Si le fond de la bouilloire se décolore :

L’acier inoxydable des éléments chauffants décoloré est normal. Ceci ne nuit pas au fonctionnement

de la bouilloire. Ne pas utiliser de tampons à récurer ou nettoyants, car ils pourraient endommager la

surface en acier inoxydable.

Si la bouilloire a chauffé à vide :

L’élément chauffant est protégé par deux dispositifs de sécurité automatiques. Si la bouilloire

vide est mise sous tension accidentellement et chauffe à vide, la bouilloire se mettra

automatiquement hors tension. Quoi faire :

• Débrancher la bouilloire et laisser refroidir l’élément pendant environ 20 minutes.

• Remplir la bouilloire puis utiliser en mode normal et vérifier le bon fonctionnement des fonctions

de la bouilloire.

Si la bouilloire ne fonctionne pas :

Effectuer ces vérifications simples avant de communiquer avec le service à la clientèle :

• Le bouton START/STOP (marche/arrêt) est-il enfoncé?

• Si la bouilloire chauffe, mais sans faire bouillir l’eau, elle a peut-être besoin d’être détartrée (voir le

chapitre « Entretien et nettoyage »).
