quirements (EC guideline 89/336 EEC, 92/31

EEC and 93/68/EEC) according to the norms

EN 55013 and EN 55020.

GRUNDIG environmental initiative

You have probably noticed

that we have used no plastic in the

packaging of your car radio.

All packaging components are made of

paper/cardboard and can be disposed of in

the existing paper recyling system.

Anti-theft system

The identity card, your car’s ID,

contains the type serial number and the code

number for the coding.

The serial number is the number which is

stamped in the frame of your car radio.

code und erleichtert bei Verlust des Gerätes die Schadensabwicklung.

The identity card serves as evidence of ownership with individual

security code and facilitates the settlement in the case of theft of the unit.

Keep the document safe.

The identity card helps the police to find the

radio if it is lost and speeds processing of

insurance claims by providing proof of

ownership.

íSelect a place to store the identity card

where it is safe from access by strangers.

íIf the identity card (the code number) is

lost, only the authorized dealer can cancel

the coding, and only with proof of

ownership and for a fee.

Adhesive code label

The adhesive code label, placed visibly behind

the window of the car, shows everyone:

that the car radio is worthless for thieves!

Coding

If the coding is activated and the car radio is

separated from the car battery (e.g. perma-

nent positive terminal 30) of your vehicle, it is

electronically protected.

Only you can restart it by entering the code

number.

Removing the operating panel

In addition to using the coding, you can also

remove the operating panel of the car radio.

The car radio is then worthless for the thief.

Security LED

The security LED becomes visible, if the car

radio is connected correctly (see page 17)

and switched off and the ignition key has been

removed. To deactivate the LED display, see

page 14, EXPERT 3.

ǺSo that the car radio stays where it is:

– Coding activated.

– Code adhesive label on the window.

– Operating panel removed.

– Security LED display (flashing).
