Tools Needed
• Pencil
• Drill
• 22 mm (7/8 in.) drill bit or hole saw
• 3 mm (1/8 in.) drill bit
• 4.76 mm (3/16 in.) wrench
• Phillips screwdriver
• Marine sealant (optional)
Mounting Considerations
NOTICE
This device should be mounted in a location that is not exposed
to extreme temperatures or conditions. The temperature range
for this device is listed in the product specifications. Extended
exposure to temperatures exceeding the specified temperature
range, in storage or operating conditions, may cause device
failure. Extreme-temperature-induced damage and related
consequences are not covered by the warranty.
When selecting a mounting location, observe these
considerations.
• To avoid interference with a magnetic compass, do not install
the device closer to a compass than the compass-safe
distance value listed in the product specifications.
• A 10 m (32 ft) extension cable is included to connect the
handset to the VHF radio. You must select a mounting
location for the handset that allows this extension cable to
connect to the back of the VHF radio.
• You can use the included screws to mount the extension
cable and the handset cradle mount on your boat. If the
included screws are not appropriate for the mounting surface,
you must purchase suitable hardware.
Installing the Extension Cable in the Mounting
Surface
Before drilling a hole to mount the extension cable, you must
make sure that the extension cable is long enough connect to
the back of the VHF radio from the selected mounting location.
1Using the mounting plate À as a template, trace the cable
hole in the center of the mounting plate and mark the screw
locations.
2Set the mounting plate aside.
Do not drill through the mounting plate.
3Using a 22 mm (7/8 in.) drill bit or hole saw, drill the center
cable hole Á in the mounting surface.
4Using a 3 mm (1/8 in.) drill bit, drill the pilot holes.
5Apply marine sealant between the mounting plate and the
mounting surface to help seal the holes (optional).
6Using the included screws, attach the mounting plate to the
mounting surface.
7Connect one end of the extension cable to the microphone
relocation port on the back of the VHF radio, and route the
other end of the extension cable to the mounting location.
8Feed the extension cable connector
 through the back of
the mounting surface.
9Apply marine sealant around the extension cable connector
in the mounting plate to help seal the hole (optional).
10Secure the extension cable connector to the mounting plate
using the weather cap à and the nut Ä.
11Connect the handset to the extension cable.
Installing the Cradle Mount
1Select a mounting location near the extension cable.
TIP: You can place the handset in the cradle mount, connect
the handset to the extension cable, and hold it against the
mounting surface to help determine the best location.
2Using the cradle mount as a template, mark the screw
locations.
3Set the cradle mount aside.
Do not drill through the cradle mount.
4Using a 3 mm (1/8 in.) drill bit, drill the pilot holes.
5Using the included screws, secure the cradle mount to the
mounting surface.

Considérations relatives au montage
AVIS
Installez cet appareil à un emplacement qui n'est pas exposé à
des températures ou des conditions extrêmes. La plage de
températures pour cet appareil est indiquée dans les
caractéristiques techniques du produit. Une exposition
prolongée à des températures dépassant la plage de
températures spécifiée, pendant le stockage ou en cours de
fonctionnement, peut provoquer une panne de l'appareil. Les
dommages dus aux températures extrêmes et leurs
conséquences ne sont pas couverts par la garantie.
Lorsque vous sélectionnez un emplacement de montage, tenez
compte des considérations suivantes.
• Pour éviter toute interférence avec un compas magnétique,
respectez la distance de sécurité indiquée dans les
caractéristiques techniques du produit.
• Une rallonge de 10 mètres (32 pieds) est incluse pour que
vous puissiez brancher le combiné à la radio VHF. Lorsque
vous choisissez l'emplacement de montage du combiné,
veillez à ce que vous puissiez brancher la rallonge au dos de
la radio VHF.
• Vous pouvez utiliser les vis incluses pour installer la rallonge
et le socle du combiné sur votre bateau. Si les vis fournies ne
sont pas adaptées à la surface de montage, procurez-vous le
matériel approprié.
Installation de la rallonge dans la surface de montage
Avant de percer un trou pour installer la rallonge, assurez-vous
que celle-ci est assez longue pour être branchée au dos de la
radio VHF depuis l'emplacement de montage choisi.
1Utilisez la plaque de montage À comme gabarit pour tracer
l'orifice du câble au centre de la plaque de montage et
marquer l'emplacement de la vis.
2Mettez de côté la plaque de montage.
Ne percez pas à travers la plaque de montage.
3À l'aide d'un foret de 22 mm (7/8 po) ou d'une scie en cloche,
percez l'orifice du câble Á au centre de la surface de
montage.
4A l'aide d'un foret de 3 mm (1/8 po), percez les trous
d'implantation.
5Appliquez du mastic d'étanchéité entre la plaque de montage
et la surface de montage pour sceller les trous (facultatif).
6À l'aide des vis fournies, fixez la plaque de montage à la
surface de montage.
7Branchez une extrémité de la rallonge au port de déport du
micro situé à l'arrière de la radio VHF et acheminez l'autre
jusqu'à la surface de montage.
8Faites passer le connecteur de la rallonge  au dos de la
surface de montage.
9Appliquez du mastic d'étanchéité autour du connecteur de la
rallonge dans la plaque de montage pour sceller le trou
(facultatif).
10Fixez le connecteur de la rallonge à la plaque de montage
avec le capuchon étanche à et l'écrou Ä.
11Connectez le combiné à la rallonge.
Installation du socle
1Choisissez un emplacement de montage proche de la
rallonge.
ASTUCE : vous pouvez placer le combiné dans le socle,
brancher le combiné à la rallonge et le tenir contre la surface
de montage pour trouver le meilleur emplacement.
2Servez-vous du socle pour marquer l'emplacement des vis.
3Mettez de côté de socle.
Ne percez pas à travers le socle.
4A l'aide d'un foret de 3 mm (1/8 po), percez les trous
d'implantation.
5À l'aide des vis fournies, fixez le socle à la surface de
montage.
