Installation

1. Clean the pipe threads, and then apply pipe thread sealant to the male pipe threads. Do NOT use sealant on are tting ends as

this will prevent a good seal.

2. Form the connector into installation shape avoiding sharp or repeated bending.

3. Wrench-tighten the brass Safety+PLUS valve tting to the manual shut-off valve and the steel are union tting to appliance

pressure regulator. Use a second wrench to stabilize the shut-off valve and regulator during tightening.

WARNING

Do NOT connect the Safety+PLUS valve tting directly to the appliance pressure regulator. If installed at the appliance regulator, the Safety+ PLUS

valve tting will NOT operate properly and will NOT respond to excess gas ow.

WARNING

DO NOT TURN ON THE APPLIANCE UNTIL ALL CONNECTIONS ARE LEAK TESTED! DO NOT use a ame or another source of ignition to test for

leaks.

4. Wrench-tighten the captive connector nuts to the Safety+PLUS valve tting and steel tting. Use a second wrench to stabilize

the shut-off valve.

5. Turn on the gas supply and test all connections for leaks with the included leak detector solution. Bubbles indicate a leak. If a leak

is present, turn off the gas and tighten the connection further, then test the connections for leaks again.
