GETTING STARTED

Congratulations on taking the ﬁrst step towards ﬂawlessly clear and unblemished skin by acquiring

this FOREO device. Before you begin to enjoy all the beneﬁts of sophisticated skincare technology in

the comfort of your home, please take a few moments to look through this manual.

Please READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE. Use this product only for its intended use as

described in this manual.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR ESPADA™

Intended use: the ESPADA™ has been developed to be used as an at-home device for the treatment

of mild to moderate inﬂammatory acne on the facial area.

The ESPADA™ quickly, noninvasively and effectively eliminates acne-causing bacteria to clear

blemishes and breakouts so you see clearer, smoother and healthier-looking skin.

WHAT IS ACNE?

Acne is a skin condition that causes protrusions varying in size and appearance depending on their

category. Whiteheads remain below the skin’s surface and are white in color; blackheads emerge from

the surface and form a black bump; papules are small inﬂammations that are pink; pustules (most

commonly known as a “pimple”) are red and inﬂamed with puss on the top; and cysts/nodules are

painful inﬂammations that remain deep in the skin. Acne forms when the pores of the skin are clogged

with excess oil and dead skin cells, causing acnes bacteria to proliferate.

NOTE:

• SKIN WARMTH: The skin may feel warm during treatment, which is not any cause for concern as it is normal.

• TEMPORARY SKIN REDNESS: The skin may develop a slight redness that fades within 24 hours.

• TEMPORARY SKIN DISCOLORATION: If the skin develops a slight discoloration that lasts more than

24 hours, stop using the ESPADA™.

BEFORE YOUR 1ST TREATMENT PERFORM A SIMPLE COMPATIBILITY TEST.

Test the device on a less sensitive area, such as the inner arm, before beginning treatment on the face

following the exact HOW TO USE instructions. Wait 24 hours and check the treated area. If you don’t

notice any difference (redness or skin irritation) between the treated and untreated skin, you may

begin the Blue Light Acne Treatment.

ESPADA™ FEATURES

BLUE (LED) LIGHT

Actives when device touches the skin to kill

bacteria. Flashes 3 times to indicate the start of

the 30-second treatment in Steady Mode. If

moved from the skin the light automatically

turns off.

T-SONIC™ PULSATIONS

Stimulate blood microcirculation, facilitating the

skin’s renewal. Begins when the device is placed

on the skin and gradually increase in speed until

the treatment is ﬁnished.

TARGETING LIGHT (RED CROSS-SHAPED LIGHT)

Targets the exact spot you wish to apply

treatment. Active when device is away from the

skin and turns off when the device touches the

skin.

BUILT-IN TIMER

Pauses pulsations once every 30 seconds to

indicate the end of 1 blemish-treating routine.

After the pause is felt, the device should be

moved to the next treatment spot.

HOW TO USE YOUR ESPADA™

Cleanse your face to

remove all dirt and

makeup. The ESPADA™’s

blue light is most effective

on clean, unblocked skin.

Press the center button

once to activate the

device and point it over

the blemish using the

targeting red light. The

blue light will activate on

contact with the skin.

It's that simple. For

mild acne, apply two 30

second routines. For

more moderate acne, 3

to 4 routines are

recommended.

Hold the ESPADA™ on

the blemish for 30

seconds, at which point

it will pulse to let you

know its completed.
