HOW TO ‘LEARN-IN’THE WIRELESS ALARM CONTROLLER INTO A BLUETOOTH NETWORK:

1. Using a ballpoint pen, briey press and release the “Learn button”on the

back of the unit.

2. This activates secondary pairing mode, where the device will search for a

host device to establish pairing. The blue LED indicator will begin ashing

for three minutes. If the blue LED turns o within the three minutes, it

indicates successful pairing.

3. If the button is pressed three times consecutively, host pairing mode

is activated. In this mode, the device will actively search for available

devices to form a network. The blue LED indicator will remain continuously

illuminated, and the pairing duration is three minutes.

Your Wireless Alarm Controller counts as one unit within the network. If it

is installed retrospectively, then the existing network cannot exceed 50 units in size.

4. To complete the installation simply slide the controller onto the bracket. The unit is now part of the whole network.

The method above assumes you have already installed your alarm network, prior to installing your Wireless Alarm Controller.

If you want to install your Wireless Alarm Controller rst, you can learn your smoke, heat and CO alarms into it by following

the instructions in your alarm manual, using the Wireless Alarm Controller as alarm 1.

HOW TO REMOVE FROM A NETWORK:

Press and hold the ‘learn-in’button on the back of the device for 10 seconds

to perform a network reset. During the 10 seconds the button is pressed, the

blue LED indicator next to it will blink rapidly. Once the 10-second countdown

is completed, the light will turn o. At this point, release the button and the

device will execute the network reset and disconnect from the network.

5. MAKING THE WIRELESS ALARM

CONTROLLER TAMPER PROOF

Do not complete this action until you have wirelessly interlinked all of

your alarms.

The Wireless Alarm Controller is provided with an anti-tamper feature,

ensuring, where needed it cannot be removed from the wall.

To make use of this feature you will need to push out the two blanking plates

on the top right-hand side of the bracket, using a small screwdriver, being

careful to support the bracket fully whilst doing so.

Once the rest of the installation is complete, and the Wireless Alarm Controller

is xed to the bracket it can only be removed using the following method:

Insert a small screwdriver into the hole on the top right-hand corner of the

Wireless Alarm Controller, until it stops, this will disengage the lock, then gently ease

the control unit up to release it from the bracket.

6. TESTING THE ALARM SYSTEM

Press the Test / Silence () button to conrm that the Wireless Alarm Controller

is operating properly. This will instigate a three minute test. All networked alarms

should sound. To stop the test (earlier than 3 minutes), simply press the Test / Silence

() button again. This test should be performed on a monthly basis.

Pressing the Test button on the Wireless Alarm Controller creates a lot of trac. If you

need to use the feature more than once, please wait 40 seconds to let the network

settle down.

7. PRODUCT FUNCTIONALITY

Test button:

This allows you to test all wirelessly interlinked alarms from one centralised

location.

Silence button:

This will silence all wirelessly interlinked smoke and heat alarms and reduce the

system sensitivity.

Locate button

In an alarm event this will silence all wirelessly interlinked alarms except the

initiating alarm which has sensed carbon monoxide / smoke.

Smoke / heat alarm indicator

This indicates that a smoke / heat alarm has been activated.

Carbon monoxide indicator

This indicates that a carbon monoxide alarm has been activated.

Fault indicator

This indicates a fault with the Wireless Alarm Controller or one of the alarms

within the network.

LOCATE BUTTON

If the alarms are sounding and an alarm indicator is ashing, but there’s no obvious hazard, pressing the ‘Locate’button

() will silence all wirelessly interlinked alarms except for the initiating alarm which has sensed smoke / heat or carbon

monoxide. Within two minutes the system will return to normal operation and the alarms will continue to sound if smoke

/ heat or carbon monoxide is still present. To make locating the alarm easier, the Wireless Alarm Controller can be removed

from its bracket and carried around the property (providing the tamper proof function has not been engaged), allowing you

to press the ‘Locate’ or ‘Test’ button whilst moving from room to room.

SILENCE BUTTON

If the alarms are sounding and the smoke / heat alarm indicator is ashing, but there’s no obvious hazard, pressing the

‘Silence’button () will silence all wirelessly interlinked alarms and reduce the system sensitivity for up to 10 minutes.

However if excessive smoke is sensed the silence function will be overridden. The indicator will continue to ash unless the

smoke disappears. A CO alarm cannot be silenced using the Wireless Alarm Controller if more than 150ppm Please Note:

has been detected, however the ‘Locate’ function will allow you to nd out which of the CO alarms is the initiating alarm.

ALARM MEMORY

If an alarm indicator ashes once every 10 seconds, it indicates that a smoke, heat or carbon monoxide alarm was

previously triggered. Press and hold the Locate button () and the triggered alarm will ash accordingly (please refer

to the alarm user manual). Please note: The system only displays the most recent alarm event. If both a carbon monoxide

alarm and a smoke / heat alarm were previously triggered simultaneously, the carbon monoxide alarm will always take

priority. The Wireless Alarm Controller will return to normal status 1 minute after pressing the Locate button.

FAULT DETECTION

If the amber fault indicator light and the red alarm indicator light ash simultaneously, it indicates that an alarm in the

network has developed a fault. Press the Locate button () to identify the faulty alarm.

If all alarms are checked and found to be correctly installed on their bases and in working condition, and if all alarms are

activated, the fault indication can be cleared by quickly pressing the Locate button twice.

2. POSITIONING AND INSTALLATION

This Wireless Alarm Controller is suitable for use in domestic premises only. It should be installed at an accessible point on

the wall, in a location where it will not be accidentally operated or knocked.

•Ensure this Wireless Alarm Controller is installed by a competent person who feels able to install it according to the

instructions.

•Read all installation instructions prior to installing this product.

WARNING:To prevent injury, this Wireless Alarm Controller must be securely attached to the wall in accordance with the

installation instructions.

To mount the bracket onto a wall:

Please ensure that you use the screws provided, as they were

chosen specically for use with this product. Drill holes into

the wall and insert supplied wall plugs. Screw the bracket in

place.

ACTIVATING THE WIRELESS ALARM CONTROLLER

The Wireless Alarm Controller has a sealed-in non-replaceable

battery. To activate it, remove the disabling tab.

Upon activating, all three LED’s should simultaneously ash twice, to indicate that they are working.

Once the device is activated it can then be learnt-in to a Bluetooth network, before securing to the wall bracket.

3. INTERLINKING WITH MOBILE APP

The Angel Pro app is designed specically to meet the demands of professional installers. It

makes the installation of FireAngel’s leading devices as intuitive and ecient as possible. The

app enables you to quickly install your network of connected alarms, resolve issues, test and

even certify your installation. Scan the QR code to discover how easy it is yourself.

4. WIRELESS INTERLINK

The Wireless Alarm Controller is designed to be used as a remote

interface on a network of up to 49 other products within the

FireAngel Bluetooth range. The Wireless Alarm Controller can

be used to test, silence or locate any alarms on the Bluetooth

network. It is not designed to communicate with wireless alarms

from other ranges or manufacturers. The controller needs to be

‘learned-in’or interlinked, in order to communicate within the

network.

Bluetooth enables wireless communication with any other

product with Bluetooth technology inside. When one alarm

detects smoke / heat / carbon monoxide, the wireless module

inside sends a signal to all the connected alarms, ensuring

almost instantaneous reaction across the network.
