1. Beforeuse, operation.checktheclampmeterandprobefordamageorabnormal Donotusethemeter
if isprobeinsulationdamage,meter meterdisplayproblems,abnormal functioning,etc. observed.
2. Neverusethe the themeterwith batterycompartmentopen or with meterhousingdisassembledinany
way; otherwise a risk of shock will exist.
3. Whentakingmeasurements,ensurethat and theyourhand fingersarein safeareabehindthefinger
guard.Donottouchbarewireorconnectors, unused inputterminals,orthecircuitundertesttoprevent
electricalshock.
4. Beforetakingmeasurements,thefunction position.switchmustbesettothecorrect Toprevent
damagetothemeter, the function switch must not be turned while measurements are taking place.
5. Do DCnotapplyvoltage600VACor orgreater between the clamp meter terminals and ground. Failure
tofollowtheseinstructionscan cause electric shock and damage to the meter.
6. 42V Whenmeasuringsignals >DCor > 30VAC pleaserms usecaution electricalastheselevelscancause
shock.
7. Donot measure voltageorcurrenthigherthan the the allowableinput; functionswitchmustbesetto
themaximumrangepositionfirstwhen measuredthe therangeof signalisunknown.Beforemeasuring
resistance, diode, and andcontinuitypleaseremovepowertothecircuit under test dischargeall
capacitors.
8. Whenthelowbatterysymbolisdisplayed,replaced the batteries promptly to ensure measurement
precision.Removebatteriesfromthe meter if the meter is to be stored longer than 60 days.
9. Donotservice must serviceor ofmodifytheinternalcircuits themeter.Qualifiedpersonnel themeter
only.
10. Donot notusethemeterinflammableorexplosive environments (gasorvapors).Do usethemeterin
environmentsthat theexceedtheoperationaltemperatureandhumidityspecifications.Donotuse
meterinareas where a strong electromagnetic field is present.
11. Tocleanthemeter,useonly a softdampcloth(neutraldetergentsonly)towipethemeterhousing.Do
notuseabrasivesorsolvents.Donot clean the meter if it is powered on or connected to a circuit under
test;alwayspower OFFthemeter and thedisconnect test leads before cleaning.
12. Useonlythetestprobesprovided.Replacetest testprobeswith better.onesof orthesamerating The
probesaretobeusedfor ‐mains measurements CAT III or CAT IV in accordance with IEC 61010 031 and
shallhave voltage aratingof ofat theleast voltage thecircuittobemeasured.
