Operation

Approximatelyevery7to8secondstheunittestsforasmokeorheatalarmcondition.During

thissequencetheunitalsoperformsselfdiagnostics,andchecksfortampersandfaults.During

normaloperationthegreenLEDflashesevery60secondsandthesounderdoesnotsound.

SmokeAlarm

Thesmokedetectoralarmswhenthesignallevelexceedsthe“alarm”thresholdandauto-

maticallyrestoreswhenthesignallevelfallsbelowthealarm“restore”threshold.Duringan

alarmtheredLEDflashesoncepersecondandthesoundersoundstheevacuationtemporal

pattern.

AlarmSilencing

Thissmokealarmisprovidedwithanautomaticallyresettablealarmsilencingfeature.Whenthe

sensorisinalarm,presstheTest/Silence/Resetbuttontosilencethelocalannunciationofthe

alarmandtransmitanalarmrestoreeventtothecontrolpanel.TheredLEDflashesonceper

secondforupto7minutes,toindicatethealarmhasbeensilenced.

AfteranalarmtheredLEDwillflashonceevery4secondstoindicateanalarminmemory.The

alarmsilencefeaturehasafixedtimesettingthatdesensitizesthesmokealarmfor7minutes.

Alarmsilencingdoesnotdisablethesmokealarmbutratherreducesitssmokesensitivity.Fol-

lowingthesilencedperiodthesmokealarmrestoresautomaticallytoitsintendedoperation.If

smokearoundtheunitisdenseenoughtosuggestapotentiallydangeroussituation,itremains

inalarm,ormayreturntothealarmstatequickly.

DetectorTrouble

Whenthedetectorhasageneralfault,theyellowLEDblinksonceeveryfoursecondsand

thereisachirpevery48seconds.After4hours,thepanelwilldisplayafiretroublemessage.
