1. Intended Use
This product is designed to check the water content of
brake uid quickly and eciently, essential for safety
checks and servicing.
Any other application beyond the conditions established
for use will be considered misuse. Draper Tools accepts no
responsibility for improper use of this product.

when working with brake uid. If the brake uid
comes into contact with skin, wash o immediately

battery leakage.
• The battery must be replaced with one with the
same specication.
• When replacing the battery check that it is tted in the

6. Additional Functions
Press the mute button (7) to switch the alarm o
and on.
Press the screen backlight button (6) to switch
the screen light on or o.
Press the battery power check button (11) to
check the battery level. Note: the battery low
symbol will turn on, the screen will turn red and
an alarm will sound as a reminder to change
the battery.
7. Maintenance, Storage and
Disposal
• After use clean the probes to remove any brake
uid residue.
• Remove the battery when storing the tester for
• Store the device in a cool, clean and dry environment,
out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
• Calibration - To conrm the accuracy of the tester,
carry out a test using clean water.
If the tester is working correctly the temperature
reading will be 100°C/212°F.
• At the end of its working life, dispose of the product
responsibly and in line with local regulations.
Recycle where possible. dispose of this product DO NOT
with domestic waste; most local authorities provide
appropriate recycling facilities.

5. Operation
1 Fig.
1. Unscrew the battery compartment cover (4) and t a 9V
battery (not supplied). Check that the battery is tting in
the correct +/- orientation.
2. Press the power button (5) and a buzzer will sound – ‘ ’ OK
and ‘ ’ will be displayed on the screen. DOT3
3. Select the brake uid type by pressing the (8), DOT 3
DOT 4 DOT 5.1 (9), or (10) button.
4. Then dip the tester into the brake uid until the probes
are fully submerged and hold for 1 second.
The uid quality will be displayed on the display screen (2)
as follows: -

• If the water ratio is greater than 3% the screen will turn
red and an alarm will sound to indicate the brake uid
needs changing.
5. Press the power button (5) to switch o after use.
