1. Intended Use
This product is designed to check the water content of
brake îœ uid quickly and eciently, essential for safety
checks and servicing.
Any other application beyond the conditions established
for use will be considered misuse. Draper Tools accepts no
responsibility for improper use of this product.

• ONLY trained and competent personnel may operate
this device.
• use the tester for any other purpose than which DO NOT
it is designed for.
• Keep children and unauthorised person away from the
work area.
CAUTION! Always wear safety googles and gloves
when working with brake îœ uid. If the brake îœ uid
comes into contact with skin, wash o immediately
and seek medical advice if necessary.
• clean the tester probes after every use.Always
• use this device if the tester or probe are DO NOT
damaged in any way or if there is evidence of
battery leakage.
• The battery must be replaced with one with the
same specication.
• When replacing the battery check that it is tted in the
correct +/- orientation.
• attempt to repair this device; it contains no DO NOT
user-serviceable parts.

6. Additional Functions
Press the mute button (7) to switch the alarm o
and on.
Press the screen backlight button (6) to switch
the screen light on or o.
Press the battery power check button (11) to
check the battery level. Note: the battery low
symbol will turn on, the screen will turn red and
an alarm will sound as a reminder to change
the battery.
7. Maintenance, Storage and
Disposal
• After use clean the probes to remove any brake
îœ uid residue.
• Remove the battery when storing the tester for
extended periods.
• Store the device in a cool, clean and dry environment,
out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
• Calibration - To conrm the accuracy of the tester,
carry out a test using clean water.
If the tester is working correctly the temperature
reading will be 100°C/212°F.
• At the end of its working life, dispose of the product
responsibly and in line with local regulations.
Recycle where possible. dispose of this product DO NOT
with domestic waste; most local authorities provide
appropriate recycling facilities.
• burn or mutilate batteries; this may release DO NOT
toxic or corrosive substances.

5. Operation
1 Fig.
1. Unscrew the battery compartment cover (4) and t a 9V
battery (not supplied). Check that the battery is tting in
the correct +/- orientation.
2. Press the power button (5) and a buzzer will sound – ‘ ’ OK
and ‘ ’ will be displayed on the screen. DOT3
3. Select the brake îœ uid type by pressing the (8), DOT 3
DOT 4 DOT 5.1 (9), or (10) button.
4. Then dip the tester into the brake îœ uid until the probes
are fully submerged and hold for 1 second.
The îœ uid quality will be displayed on the display screen (2)
as follows: -

• If the water ratio is greater than 3% the screen will turn
red and an alarm will sound to indicate the brake îœ uid
needs changing.
5. Press the power button (5) to switch o after use.
