1. MASK
Intended use:
This Category 1 personal protective equipment (PPE) was
produced in order to protect the user's eyes from direct water
contact. This article the and necessary
safety requirements of EC Directive 89/686 for personal protec-
tive equipment.
The mask serves as a visual aid while diving or snorkelling.
In case of visual contact your optician who can attach
your prescription glasses with adhesive, or use contact lenses.
Please be aware that under water, objects appear about 30 %
larger and distances about 25 % less than they actually are.
Handling and use:
s Inspect all component parts of the mask to ensure they are
free of defects. Replace any damaged parts before use.
s Check the and leak-tightness of the mask by pressing it
to your face with your hand and create a negative pressure
by lightly inhaling through your nose. The mask must remain
on your face of its own accord while you hold your breath.
Hair and beards beneath the sealing rim of the mask may
affect the leak-tightness.
s Before each use, evenly apply an anti-fogging agent to the
inside of the dry glass. Then rinse out the mask with
water. This prevents the mask from fogging up under water.
s Put the mask on by placing it over your face with one hand
and with the other hand, pull the mask band towards the
back horizontally over your head. The mask band should
hold the mask to your face with a slight pressure. Your
mask is with quick release clasps on both sides. To
tighten the band, simply pull on the outermost end of the
mask band. loosen it, press the orange clips forward with To
your thumbs.
s Alternatively, you can also use the quick release to remove
the mask completely. do so, simply press To the round
black button on the clip and pull out the band. put the To
band back, re-insert it until the button clicks into place.
Please note:
A mask band that is too tight will deform the mask and does
not provide better leak-tightness or Also make sure that
you can easily pinch the nose pocket to provide a potentially
necessary pressure equalisation.
Warning:
A defective mask can endanger the user. Before using for the
time, familiarise yourself with the use of the mask in a safe
environment, e.g. a swimming pool. Safe use requires practice
with snorkelling.
Safety advice:
To increase its impact resistance, the mask glass consists of
tempered glass (safety glass) which, if broken, shatters into
small crumbs.
Nonetheless, if subject to excessive forces or shock, even
impact-resistant masks may break or splinter and so cause
injury to the user. Therefore in order to prevent excessive
stresses on the mask glass, do not dive into the water with
your face downwards. When diving into the water, always hold
the mask with one hand.
2. SNORKEL
Intended use:
The snorkel allows the diver, snorkeler,
or swimmer to breathe on the surface of the water. The snorkel
makes it possible to keep the head below water while swim-
ming on the surface and to breathe at the same time.
These snorkels comply with all provisions of the EU Standard
EN1972 and accordingly divided into: are
s Typ1: Snorkel for persons shorter than 150 cm
(EN1972 < 150 cm)
s Typ2: Snorkel for persons taller than 150 cm
(EN1972 > 150 cm)
You will these entered on the snorkel tube
as they are entered within the parentheses above.
