Safety
General safety
1) Work area
a) Keep theîwork area clean and well illuminated. Cluttered and poorly lit areas invite accidents.
b) Do not use power tools in explosive environments, e.g. near ïŹammable liquids, gases or dust.
Powerîtoolsîgenerate sparks that can easily ignite dust orîfumes.
c) Keep children and other bystanders away from theîarea where you are using theîpower tool.
Distractionsîcan cause you to lose your concentration and control.
2) Electrical safety
a) The power toolâs plug must ïŹt correctly into theîwall socket. Neverîmodify theîplug in any way. Neverîuse
anîadaptor together with earthed power tools. UnmodiïŹed plugs and suitable wall sockets decrease theîrisk
of electric shock.
b) Avoid physical contact with earthed objects, such as pipes, radiators, ovens or refrigerators. Thereîis
anîincreased risk of receiving anîelectrical shock if your body is earthed.
c) Do not expose theîpower tool to rain or other wet conditions. Ifîwater gets inside aîpower tool it increases
theîrisk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse theîmains lead. Neverîuse theîlead to carry theîtool or pull theîplug from theîwall socket.
Keepîtheîlead away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts. Damaged or tangled leads increase
theîrisk of electric shock.
e) When using power tools outdoors, use anîextension lead that is suitable for this purpose. Theîuse of
anîextension lead designed for outdoor use decreases theîrisk of electric shocks.
f) If for some reason you must use aîpower tool in aîwet environment, always connect it to theîmains via
anîearth-fault circuit breaker such as anîRCD (residual current device). UsingîanîRCD signiïŹcantly reduces
theîchances of you receiving anîelectric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) This product must not be used by anyone (including children) suffering from physical or mental impairment.
Thisîproduct should not be used by anyone that has not read theîinstruction manual unless they have been
instructed in its use by someone who will take responsibility for their safety.
b) Pay attention to your actions and use common sense when using power tools. Neverîuse power tools if
you are tired or under theîinïŹuence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Oneîmoment of inattention while using
aîpower tool may result in serious injury.
c) Use protective equipment. Alwaysîwear safety glasses. Usingîprotective clothing such as dust masks,
non-slip safety shoes, helmets and ear defenders decreases theîrisk of injury.
d) Avoid accidental starts. Makeîsure that theîpower switch is set to OFF before plugging theîtool into aîwall
socket. Neverîcarry aîpower tool with your ïŹnger on theîtrigger and never connect theîpower tool to aîwall
socket when theîswitch is set to ON, since it may result in injury.
e) Remove all service tools/keys before switching on theîpower tool. Aîservice tool left on aîmoving part of
theîpower tool may result in injury.
f) Do not overreach. Makeîsure you stand steady and well balanced at all times. Thisîenables you to have
more control in case of unexpected events.
g) Wear suitable attire. Doînot wear loose-ïŹtting clothing or jewellery. Keepîhair, clothes and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose-ïŹtting clothes, jewellery or long hair could become caught in moving parts.
h) If equipment for dust extraction or collection is available, make sure that it is connected and used properly.
Usingîtechnical aids may decrease dust related hazards.
