TROUBLESHOOTING

If your rechargeable clipper does not seem

to be taking a charge, take the following

troubleshooting steps before returning it for

repair:

1. Be sure the electrical outlet is working by

plugging in another appliance to test the outlet.

2. Make sure the electrical outlet is not

connected to a switch that turns power off

when lights are turned off.

OPERATING

INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance is intended for household use. It

includes an adapter to be used with 100-240V AC,

50/60Hz.

1. Before using the clipper for the first time,

charge continuously for 12 hours. Maximum

battery capacity will only be reached after 3

charging and discharging cycles.

2. After use, turn the switch to position.OFF

Recharge battery by connecting the charging

jack into the receptacle at the end of the clipper

and plugging the adapter unit into the electrical

outlet. The charging indicator will light up to

indicate that charging has begun.

3. After recharging, store in a dry place, away

from small children.

4. Do not wrap cord around the clipper.

5. Preserving the battery: n order to maintainI

the optimum capacity of the rechargeable

battery, the clipper should be recharged for

12 hours approximately every 6 months.

FOR DIRECT PLUG-IN OPERATION

1. Connect the charging jack into the receptacle

at the end of the clipper.

2. Plug the adapter unit into the electric outlet.

3. Turn the switch to position and let theOFF

clipper charge for a few minutes.

4. Turn the switch to position.ON

5. Unplug the adapter unit after use.

6. After use, store in a dry place away from

TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME

Your new Conair® 16-Piece Number Cut®

Home Grooming Kit has everything you need

to achieve professional haircuts at home. The

powerful DC motor clipper with stainless steel

blades for long-lasting cutting precision features

a new 5-position adjustable taper control.

What ever hair length you set the lever for, the

clipper will automatically cut all hair in that

section at the same desired length.

Also included are 8 number-coded comb

attachments for different hair lengths, a barber

comb, a cleaning brush, scissors, lubricating

oil, a storage case, a blade guard for easy

maintenance of the clipper blades and

an adapter.

Please note that with the easy-to-use

number-coded combs, you can easily

remember your favorite combs once you

start to use them on a regular basis.

Before you start:

1. Inspect your clipper to make sure it is free

of hair and dirt, properly oiled and running

smoothly.

2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of the

person getting the haircut.

3. Seat the person so that his/her head is at your

eye level. This gives you greater visibility and

control.

4. Comb hair until it is tangle free. Hold the

clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re ready

to cut.

MEDIUM-TO-LONG CUT

To begin, cut only a small amount of hair until

you become used to the length each attachment

leaves the hair. Try the longest attachment on the

clipper first. If you want a shorter cut, you can

then use shorter combs.

• Short attachment comb (number 1)

cuts hair to 1/8" (3mm).

• Medium-Short attachment comb (number 2)

cuts hair to 1/4" (6mm).

• Medium-Long attachment comb (number 3)

cuts hair to 3/8" (9.5mm).

• Long attachment comb (number 4)

cuts hair to 1/2" (12.5mm).

• Long attachment comb (number 5)

cuts hair to 5/8" (16mm).

• Long attachment comb (number 6)

cuts hair to 3/4" (19mm).

• Long attachment comb (number 7)

cuts hair to 7/8" (22mm).

• Long attachment comb (number 8)

cuts hair to 1" (25mm).

clipper works most

efficiently when

used at a moderate

pace.

To remove comb attachment, place index finger

and thumb as illustrated; then pull out and up.

To begin cutting hair:

1. The hair should be combed

in its natural direction.

2. Using the longest comb

attachment, trim sides from

the bottom upward. Hold

clipper lightly against the

hair with teeth of the comb

attachment pointing up ward

yet flat against the head.

Gradually lift the clipper

upward and outward through

the hair, trimming just a little

at a time.

Repeat around sides and

back of head.

If you want hair to be even

shorter:

A) Apply more pressure to the head with the

comb attachment that is in place. This takes

a little practice, of course. B) Switch to aOR

shorter comb attachment.

Remember, it’s better to leave

too much hair than too little.

For longer hair on top, use the

barber comb and lift hair on

the top of the head, cutting

over the comb. Or hold the

hair between the fingers and

cut to desired length. Always working from the

front to the back of the head, gradually cut the

hair shorter by reducing the space between

the comb or fingers and the head. Comb often

to check for uneven strands and to get rid of

trimmed hair.

OUTLINING

Outlining requires no

attachments. Comb hair into

the desired style. Position the

clipper between the sideburns

and the ear (see illustration),

making sure the corner edge

of the blade is against the

hairline. With the outline of the

hair as your guide, slowly move

the clipper over, around and

behind the ears. For the back

of the neck and the sideburns,

hold the clipper against the skin at the length

desired, move the clipper downward.

STOP. COMB. CHECK.

For best results, do what the professionals do:

Comb hair often and check clipping results as

you comb. This way you avoid uneven sides,

bangs, neckline, etc.

SHORT CUTS TO PERFECT

FLATTOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.

Always cut from the back of the neck to the

crown, using the longest comb setting.

Hold the comb attachment flat against the head

and slowly move the clipper up through the hair.

Use the same technique for

the sides, cutting from the

bottom to the upper side of

the head.

For the front to the crown, cut

the hair against the direction

in which it grows. Then

even it up with the sides.

For a flattop, use the

flat comb, not the comb

attachment. Just cut hair

on top of the head over flat

comb (see illustration).

5-DETENT TAPER CONTROL

Just like levers on

professional clippers,

the Conair taper lever

is positioned at your

thumb so you can hold

the clipper in your hand

and adjust the lever at

the same time... while

you’re clipping. This taper lever eliminates the

need in some situations for an attachment comb

because it lets you gradually adjust the closeness

of the cut. For the closest cut and the shortest

hair, push taper lever up as far as it will go to

level #1. To increase cutting length, slowly push

lever down. If you push to the lowest position,

level #5, it will leave hair about the same length

as the short attachment comb.

Because a different cutting edge is used in each

setting, using the taper lever lengthens the life

of your blades. Packed-in hair can slow down

any clipper. To remove hair, without removing the

blades, take your cleaning brush and brush the

hair from the blades. If you do this after every

clipping, especially with heavy haircutting, the

blades should remain free of cut hair. If clipper

stops cutting and this action doesn’t help, you

might have to loosen the blades to remove the

hair.

BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION

1. This device requires one nickel metal hydride

battery.

2. Battery is not to be removed by the consumer

unless instructed by the manufacturer.

3. Since the battery is sensitive to high

temperatures, when storing the device, keep it in

a cool, dry place.

4. Never put batteries into a fire.

5. Switch off device after use.

6. Keep batteries away from children, especially

the batteries that are small enough to ingest.

7. If a battery is ingested, seek immediate

medical help.

8. Never open, crush, puncture or disassemble a

battery.

9. Dispose of battery according to any state and

local regulations.

10. Do not dispose of rechargeable battery as

solid waste.

BATTERY DISPOSAL

BATTERY REMOVAL

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove

the screws on the bottom housing at back of

the clipper.

2. Remove the top housing by hand.

3. Now the battery is exposed so you can separate

the wire connectors. Carefully hold the wires on

each side of the connector and gently cut the

wires. The connector will separate and the battery

can be removed from the inner housing.

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS

DETACHABLE BLADE SET

Your clipper is equipped with a detachable

blade set for routine maintenance, cleaning

and replacement.

To remove the blade: The

front of the clipper should

be facing you. Then push

up under the blade with

your thumb and the blade

will pop out. (See Fig 1.)

To replace the blade: Make

sure the taper control is

set to the longest position

and with the back of the

clipper facing you, insert

the bottom side of the

blade (with screws) into the

clipper and push down until

it snaps into place. (See Fig 2.)

OILING THE BLADES

(OIL INCLUDED)

1. Oil the blades once a month

2. Turn the appliance on.

3. Hold and point the blades downward.

4. Spread one drop of oil across the blades.

5. Turn the clipper off and wipe away any

excess oil.

NOTE:

1. Do not over-oil the blades, as this can

damage the motor.

2. Do not oil the motor bearing, as it is

permanently lubricated.

3. KEEP OIL AWAY FROM CHILDREN.

Any other servicing should be performed by

an authorized service representative. This

appliance has no user-serviceable parts. The

product is for household use.

STORAGE

When not in use, your clipper should be

disconnected, allowed to cool and stored in a

safe, dry location, out of reach of children.

NOTE: Never pull on the clipper cord. Never

twist or wrap the cord around the clipper. Lay it

flat with the cord coiled up when not in use.

RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

Si el aparato no se carga, siga los pasos

siguientes antes de devolverlo a un centro de

servicio:

1.. Enchufe otro aparato en la toma de corrien

para comprobar que esta funcione.

2.. Compruebe que la toma de corriente

esté conectada a un interruptor que corta el

suministro eléctrico cuando la luz está apagada.

INSTRUCCIONES

DE USO

Para uso doméstico solamente. El adaptador

provisto p2-ha sido diseñado para funcionar en

redes de 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz.

1. Cargue el aparato continuamente por 12

horas antes del primer uso. Nota: La batería

alcanzará su capacidad máxima después de

3 ciclos de carga/descarga.

2. Apague (“ ”) el aparato después deOFF

cada uso. Para recargar la batería, conecte el

adaptador directamente al aparato antes de

enchufarlo en una toma de corriente; la luz de

carga se encenderá.

3.. Una vez cargado, guarde el aparato en

lugar seco, fuera del alcance de los niños.

4.. No enrolle el cable alrededor del aparat

5.. Consejo para prolongar la vida de

batería: Para lograr un rendimiento óptimo y

conservar la energía de la batería recargable,

se recomienda cargar el aparato por aprox. 12

horas cada 6 meses.

USO CON CABLE

1.. Conecte el cable al aparat

2.. Enchufe el adaptador en una toma

corriente.

3.. Ponga el botón de encendido/apagado en

posición “ ” y deje que el aparato se cargueOFF

por unos minutos.

4.. Encienda el aparato, poniendo el botón

encendido/apagado en la posición “ON”.

cada uso.

6.. Guarde el aparato en un lugar seco, fuera d

alcance de los niños.

7.. No enrolle el cable alrededor del aparat

8.. El adaptador siempre debe usarse

posición vertical, o en una toma de corriente

de piso.

CORTAR EL CABELLO EN CASA

Su nuevo juego de peluquería de 16 piezas

Number Cut® de Conair® tiene todo lo que

necesita para lograr cortes profesionales en

casa. Incluye una potente cortadora de cabello

con motor DC, duraderas cuchillas de acero

inoxidable y una nueva palanca de ajuste de

longitud de corte con 5 posiciones para obtener

resultados precisos.

Simplemente elija la longitud deseada y el

aparato ajustará automáticamente la altura de

las cuchillas.

También incluye 8 guías con código numérico para

conseguir distintas longitudes de corte, un peine

de corte, un cepillo de limpieza, tijeras, aceite

lubricante, una caja de almacenamiento y un

protector de cuchillas para un fácil mantenimiento.

Gracias al código numérico de fácil uso,

recordará fácilmente cuál guía usar.

Antes de empezar:

1.. Compruebe que el aparato está limpi

funciona correctamente y que las cuchillas

están lubricadas.

2.. Coloque una toalla o una capa de cor

alrededor del cuello de la persona a quien le va

a cortar el cabello.

3.. Siente a la persona de manera que su cabe

esté al nivel de sus ojos, para mayor visibilidad

y control.

4.. Desenrede el cabello. Sostenga la cortado

cómodamente en su mano. Ya está listo/a para

empezar.

CORTES MEDIANOS A LARGOS

Empiece cortando poco cabello, hasta

acostumbrase a cada guía. Use la guía más

larga para empezar, y luego acorte el cabello

con guías más cortas si desea.

• Guía n.°1 – Corta el cabello a 1/8 in (3 mm).

• Guía n.° 2 – Corta el cabello a 1/4 in (6 mm).

• Guía n.° 3 – Corta el cabello a 3/8 in (9.5 mm).

• G uía n.° 4 – Corta el cabello a 1/2 in (12.5 mm).

• Guía n.° 5 – Corta el cabello a 5/8 in (16 mm).

• Guía n.° 6 – Corta el cabello a 3/4 in (19 mm).

• Guía n.° 7 – Corta el cabello a 7/8 in (22 mm).

• Guía n.° 8 – Corta el cabello a 1 in (25mm).

Para instalar la guía,

sosténgala con los

dientes hacia arriba,

deslícela por encima

de las cuchillas, y

luego enganche la

parte trasera.

NOTA: Nunca

empuje la cortadora

para que corte

más rápidamente.

Para quitar la guía, sosténgala como se indica,

y jálela hacia arriba y fuera.

Para empezar el corte

1.. Peine el cabello

dirección de su crecimiento

natural.

2. Empiece el recorte en un

lado de la cabeza, usando la

guía más larga, y cortando

desde abajo hacia arriba.

Sostenga la cortadora

ligeramente contra el cabello,

con los dientes de la guía

apuntando hacia arriba y

planos contra la cabeza. Pase

la cortadora por el cabello

gradualmente hacia arriba y

hacia fuera, cortando poco

cabello a la vez.

Haga lo mismo en el otro

lado y atrás de la cabeza.

Si quiere un corte de cabello aún más corto:

A)) Aplique más presión (esto necesita un po

de práctica). O B) Use una guía más corta.

Recuerde que es mejor dejar

el cabello demasiado largo

que demasiado corto. Si

quiere dejar el cabello más

largo encima de la cabeza,

use el peine de corte o sus

dedos para alzar el cabello

y córtelo al largo deseado. Trabaje siempre

desde la parte delantera hasta la parte trasera

de la cabeza, y corte el cabello poco a poco,

reduciendo gradualmente el espacio entre

sus dedos (o el peine) y la cabeza. Peine

con frecuencia para comprobar que no hay

CONTORNEO

El contorneo (definición

de contornos) no requiere

accesorios. Primero, peine el

cabello como desee. Coloque

la cortadora entre la patilla

y la oreja (véase la figura),

posicionando la esquina de la

cuchilla contra el nacimiento

del pelo. Mueva la cortadora

lentamente alrededor y atrás de

las orejas, siguiendo el contorno

del cabello. Para cortar el

cabello en la nuca y las sienes,

coloque las cuchillas contra la piel, al nivel

deseado, y deslice el aparato hacia abajo.

DETÉNGASE. PEINE. CHEQUEE.

Para obtener resultados óptimos, siga el ejemplo

de los profesionales: Peine el cabello con

frecuencia para chequear los resultados; esto

evitará los cortes disparejos en los costados, los

flequillos y la nuca.

PERFECTOS CORTES “TAPA

PLANA”, CORTES MILITARES, ETC.

Siempre corte el cabello

desde la nuca hasta la

coronilla, usando la guía

más larga.

Sostenga la guía plana

contra la cabeza y deslice la

cortadora lentamente hacia

arriba. Use la misma técnica

en los costados, cortando el

cabello desde abajo hasta

arriba.

Desde la frente hasta la

coronilla, corte el cabello

en dirección contraria al crecimiento del pelo.

Luego, empareje los lados.

Para obtener una “tapa plana”/tabla/mesa,

no use una guía sino un peine plano, y corte

el cabello por encima del peine (véase la

ilustración).

PALANCA DE AJUSTE DE

LONGITUD DE CORTE CON

5 POSICIONES BLOQUEABLES

Al igual que las cortadoras profesionales, esta

cortadora cuenta con una palanca de ajuste de

longitud de corte, situada a la altura del pulgar,

que permite ajustar la longitud de corte a medida

que corta el cabello.

Para conseguir el

corte más apurado y el

cabello más corto, deslice el botón hacia

arriba, hasta la posición n.° 1. Para conseguir un

corte más largo, deslice la palanca hacia abajo.

El ajuste más bajo (n.° 5) dejará el cabello tan

corto como la guía más corta.

Usar la palanca de ajuste de longitud de corte

prolonga la vida de las cuchillas, puesto que

estas nunca usan el mismo ángulo para cortar.

Su cortadora puede perder velocidad si hay

recortes de pelo trabados en las cuchillas. Para

quitar el pelo de las cuchillas sin tener que

sacarlas, use el cepillo de limpieza provisto.

Hacer esto después de cada uso, especialmente

cuando se corta mucho cabello, mantendrá las

cuchillas en condición óptima. Si la cortadora

deja de funcionar y esto no soluciona el

problema, afloje las cuchillas para limpiarlas.

INFORMACIÓN DE SEGURIDAD

ACERCA DE LA BATERÍA

1. Este aparato contiene una batería de níquel-

hidruro metálico (Ni-MH).

2. La batería no debe ser retirada por el

consumidor, a menos que lo indique el

fabricante.

3. Guarde el aparato en un lugar fresco y

seco, p2-ya que la batería es sensible a las altas

temperaturas.

4. Nunca tire pilas/baterías al fuego.

REMOCIÓN DE LA BATERÍA

1. Quite los tornillos situados en la parte trasera

del aparato con un pequeño destornillador

Phillips (de estrella).

2. Levante y quite la parte superior de la

carcasa.

3. Ahora, la batería está descubierta, lo que

permite separar los conectores que juntan los

alambres. Agarre con cuidado los alambres

situados en ambos lados de cada conector

y córtelos suavemente. Los conectores se

separarán, lo que permitirá returar la batería.

MANTENIMIENTO DE SU

CORTADORA CUCHILLAS

REMOVIBLES

Esta cortadora cuenta con cuchillas removibles

para facilitar el mantenimiento, la limpieza, y el

reemplazo de las mismas.

Para sacar el juego de

cuchillas: Sostenga la

cortadora con el interruptor

en frente. Empuje las

cuchillas hacia arriba con el

pulgar para desencajarlas

(Fig. 1).

Para instalar el juego de cuchillas: Compruebe

que el ajuste de longitud de corte esté en la

posición más larga. Sostenga la cortadora

con la parte trasera en

frente, introduzca la parte

trasera de las cuchillas (la

parte con los tornillos) en

la unidad y presione las

cuchillas hacia abajo hasta

que encajen (Fig. 2).

LUBRICACIÓN DE LAS CUCHILLAS

(ACEITE INCLUIDO)

1. Lubrique las cuchillas una vez al mes.

2. Encienda (“ON”) el aparato.

3. Sostenga el aparato de manera que las

cuchillas apunten hacia abajo.

4. Esparza una gota de aceite a lo largo de las

cuchillas.

5. Apague (“OFF”) el aparato y absorba el

exceso de aceite con un papel absorbente.

NOTA:

1. No lubrique demasiado las cuchillas; esto

puede dañar el motor.

2. No lubrique las piezas del motor, las cuales

están lubricadas de por vida.

3. MANTENGA EL ACEITE FUERA DEL

ALCANCE DE LOS NIÑOS.

Cualquier otro servicio debe ser realizado por

un técnico de servicio autorizado. Este aparato

no contiene ninguna pieza que pueda ser

reparada/reemplazada por el usuario. Para uso

doméstico solamente.

ALMACENAMIENTO

Después del uso, desenchufe el aparato,

permita que se enfríe y guárdelo en un lugar

También deberá cambiar las guías si las pierde

o se dañan. Se le hará más fácil cortar el

cabello con exactitud profesional teniendo las

herramientas adecuadas.

Conair ofrece una gran variedad de accesorios

para cortar el cabello. Si su juego de peluquería

no los incluye, los puede pedir por correo.

Las guías para la oreja izquierda y derecha

permiten cortar el cabello alrededor de las

orejas fácilmente y con precisión. Las pinzas

son muy prácticas para sostener el cabello

durante el corte. El peine de modelado

permite desvanecer o cortar el cabello en

ángulo. La capa de corte proporciona mayor

comodidad durante el corte y el estuche de

almacenamiento permite guardar la cortadora y

todos sus accesorios en un mismo lugar.
