Taking Care of your Sink
Your CDA sink is manufactured using material developed specifically to withstand the rigours of everyday
kitchen use. However, we advise you to follow these precautions to keep the sink in pristine condition:
• Donotuseaplasticwashing-upbowlinthesinkasgritandotherparticlesmaybecomeembeddedinthebowland
scratchorerodethesinksurface.CDAspecicallyrecommendtheuseofwiresink-basketsanddrainer-rackstohelp
protectyoursink.Takecaretonotcuttheplasticcoatingontheseaccessorieswithsharpcutleryortheedgesofpans,etc.
• Donotuseneatbleachorotherharshcleaningagentsonthemetalsinkwasteasthismaycausetarnishing.Thisis
especiallyimportantifthewasteisofthebrass/brassnishtype.
• Avoiddroppingheavyorsharpobjectsintothesinkastheymayscratchordamagethesurface.
• Thesurfaceofthesinkcanbeaffectedbycertainchemicalse.g.neatbleach,nailpolishremover,paintstripper,solvents,
brushcleanerandinsecticides.Ifanyofthesesubstancescomeintocontactwiththesink,wipeoffimmediatelywithadry
cloth,washwithmilddetergentandrinsewithwater.
• Donotuseabrasiveliquids,powdersorsteelpadstocleanthesinkastheywilldamagethesinksurfaceandmakeit
moresusceptibletostaining.Thesinkmaybecleanedwithadilutebleachsolution.
• Inhard-waterareas,alimescaledepositmaybuilduponthesink.Thelimescalemaybecomestainedbycolouredfoods
suchascoffeeorredwine.Ifthisoccurs,werecommenduseofamildlimescaleremover.
• Particularlystubbornorganicstainscanberemovedeffectivelybysoakingthesinkinabiologicalwashing-powder
solution,dishwasherpowdersolutionordilutedbleach.
• Ifthesinkcomesintocontactwithacidicmaterials,rinseimmediatelywithplentyofwaterandwipewithasoftdrycloth.
• Donotleaverustyobjectsincontactwiththesink.Rustcancausestaining,crackingorevenpermanentdamageto
thesinksurface.
• Toavoidstainingofthesurfacedonotleavefoodorothermaterialswithcorrosivepropertiessuchasjuices,salt,
vinegar,mustardetc.onthesinkforalongtime.
• Afterusingthesink,rinseitcleanwithwarmsoapywaterandrinsewithclean
waterbeforewipingdry.
• Duringinstallation,protectfromscratches,scuffsandotherdamage.
• Donotovertightenorstrainplumbingttings.
• Themouldingandedgesofthesinkmustbeabsolutelylevelsowaterowsoff
thedrainer.

Althoughstainlesssteelsinksarebuilttolastalifetime,consumersarealmostalwaysconcernedaboutthreespecicnatural
occurrencesthatmayappearontheirnewsink.
Scratching
Stainlesssteelis scratchresistantandissusceptibletoscratchingthroughnormalwear.ScratchesaremostprevalentwhenNOT
thesinkisbrandnewbutthroughcontinualuse,scratcheswillbecomemoreuniformandlessapparentovertime.
Rust spots
Rustcolouredspotswhichmayappearonanewsinkdonotindicatethatthesinkitselfisrusting.Theappearanceofthesespots
isattributedtoexternalfactorsmostcommonlyrelatedtoferrousparticleswhichcomethroughthewatersupplyfollowingthe
installationofnewpipework.Theseparticlesarenotvisibletotheeyeuntiltheystarttorustandarelikelytoappearintherst
sixtotwelvemonthsofuse.Cleaningmayremovetheruststainbutnoteliminatethecause.Itishoweverimportanttoavoid
theuseofsteelwoolwhichwillexacerbatetheproblem.
Water staining
Limescaledepositsand‘rainbow’discolourationwhichmayappearonastainlesssteelsurfacearesolelyduetoenvironmental
factorsandnotinherentfaultswithintheproduct.Throughcontinuoususeandregularcleaning,theseeffectswilldisappear.

agreedrettingmaybereimbursedonreceiptonafaultysink/part,oncetheyhave
beeninspectedanddeemedfaulty.
