Instruction Manual for Use With
EOS-1D Mark III or EOS-1Ds Mark III
To EOS-1D Mark IV Users
This instruction manual describes the use of the transmitter when connected to the EOS-1D
Mark III or EOS-1Ds Mark III.
When using the transmitter with the EOS-1D Mark IV, refer to the PDF manual in the
EOS_1DIV folder.
Before using the WFT-E2 II with an EOS-1D Mark III or EOS-1Ds Mark III, make sure the
camera firmware is Ver. 1.3.0 or later for the EOS-1D Mark III and Ver. 1.2.0 or later for the
EOS-1Ds Mark III.
For details, contact a Canon Service Center.
To comply with local radio wave regulations, Canon offers four region-specific versions of
the transmitter (WFT-E2 IIA, E2 IIB, E2 IIC, and E2 IID) in various areas around the world
(p.6). For convenience, we refer to the product in this manual simply as “the transmitter,”
without reference to versions A, B, C, or D.

The Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E2 II is an accessory for EOS-1D Mark III and EOS-1Ds
Mark III cameras (supporting wireless and wired LAN functions and equipped with a USB port).
It enables the following operations. The WFT-E2 II is compatible with IEEE 802.11a/b/g
wireless LANs as well as 100 Base-TX Ethernet wired LANs.

settings are complete. For details on configuring these settings, refer to the documentation
provided with the respective equipment.
Camera menu screens depicted in this manual are generally those of the EOS-1D Mark III.
Terms in brackets [ ] indicate button or icon names or other software elements. Brackets
also denote camera menu items.
Page numbers in parentheses indicate where you can find additional information.
Instructions on camera operations should be followed only after you have read the Camera
Instruction Manual and are familiar with operating the camera.
