IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

appliance.

sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•Do not touch hot surfaces.
•Do not operate the appliance under or near flammable materials, including
curtains, drapes, cabinets, or other combustible materials.
•Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated
oven, or near any other heat source.
•Do not use oil, butter, margarine, seasoning, or any other liquid in the popping
chamber.
•Do not operate the appliance without popcorn kernels in the popping chamber.
•Do not exceed the maximum kernel capacity.
•Do not remove the top cover while the appliance is operating.
•Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is plugged in or in use.
•Unplug the appliance from the outlet when not in use, before cleaning, before
storage, and before attaching or removing parts.
•Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning, moving, or storing.
•Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, after the appliance
malfunctions, or after it has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
•Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces.
•Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
•Do not use the appliance outdoors.
•During the first few minutes of initial use, a slight odor or smoke may occur.
This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not affect the performance
of the appliance.

•Use only accessories supplied by the manufacturer or an authorized service
provider.
•Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.
•Do not attempt to service, repair, or disassemble the appliance yourself. Refer
servicing to qualified service personnel.

POWER CORD SAFETY
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used:
•The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance.
•The cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled by children or tripped over unintentionally.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug, meaning one blade is wider than the other. To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.
If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug
in any way.
INTENDED USE
This appliance is intended for household use only. It is designed to pop dry popcorn
kernels using hot air.
The appliance is not intended for commercial or industrial use, outdoor use, heating
liquids, cooking food other than popcorn kernels, or use with oil, butter, margarine,
seasoning, or any other ingredients inside the popping chamber. Do not use the
appliance for anything other than its intended use.
