IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

1. Please read through the following safely precautions carefully before switching on the Digital

Kettle.

2. Keep this instruction manual in a safe place for future reference. Also keep the sales receipt

and, if possible, the gift box with the inner packaging.

3. Failure to follow all the instructions listed may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal

injury.

4. Before plugging the Digital Kettle into the mains electrical supply, check that the voltage and

power supply comply with the specifications indicated on the rating plate of the appliance.

5. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been

given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if

they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be

made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and

its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Appliances can be used by

persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience

and Knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of

the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not

play with the appliance.

6. Do not immerse the Digital Kettle in water or any other liquid.

7. Always place the Digital Kettle on a stable, flat heat-resistant surface. Also ensure that the

surface can take the weight of the unit during use.

8. The Digital Kettle is intended for DOMESTIC USE ONLY and should not be used for

commercial purposes. The Digital Kettle should only be used for its intended purpose.

9. Do not leave the unit unattended when in use.

10. Do not move or lift the Digital Kettle while it is operating or while it is connected to the mains

electrical supply.

11. The use of attachments, not specifically recommended by the manufacturer, must not be

used as they may cause personal injury or damage to the appliance.

12. Before cleaning the Digital kettle, allow it to cool down

13. Make sure that the Digital Kettle is switched 'OFF' and remove the plug from the mains

electrical supply when it is not in use, before it is cleaned and while it is being repaired.

14. To unplug the appliance, grasp the plug firmly and remove it from the mains electrical supply.

DO NOT PULL ON THE CORD.

15. Check the Digital Kettle's power cord carefully regularly for damage. If the power cord is

damaged in any way, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a

similarly qualified person in order to avoid an electrical hazard.

16. Do not overfill the kettle. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water will be ejected.

17. Do not allow the power cord to hang over sharp table edges or come into contact with hot

surfaces.

18. To prevent the risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the power cord, plug, or any non-

removable parts of this Digital Kettle in water or any other liquid.

19. Never use the Digital Kettle if it is damaged in any way.

20. All repairs should be done by a qualified electrician. Improper repairs may place the user

at risk.

21. When handing this product over to a third party, ensure that this instruction manual is

supplied with the appliance.

22. The Kettle must not be submerged in water as any contact with the electrical parts will

create the risk of malfunction and electric shock. Do not use the appliance with damp

or wet hands.

BEFORE FIRST USE

NOTE:

• The Digital Kettle must only be used with the supplied power base.

• Remove all the packaging material.

• Place the power base on a dry level surface.

• It is recommended that the Digital Kettle be washed and rinsed thoroughly before first use.

USING THE DIGITAL KETTLE

1. Ensure that the Digital Kettle is unplugged.

2. Open the lid by pressing the automatic lid button

3. Never fill the Digital Kettle when it is on its base.

4. Do not use the Digital Kettle without water.

5. Fill the Digital Kettle with the desired amount of fresh water. You may fill the Digital Kettle

through the spout as this will ensure good maintenance of the filter.

6. Ensure that the water level is filled to at least the MIN water level and do not exceed the

MAX level.

7. When the Digital Kettle has been filled, place it firmly on its base.

8. Ensure that the lid is properly closed by pressing it down firmly so as to close properly.

9. Connect the mains plug to the mains electrical supply making sure that the voltage and

frequency is the same as detailed on the rating plate found on the base of the Digital Kettle.

10. All the pre-set buttons on the handle will illuminate momentarily to indicate that there is

power.

11. To start the Digital Kettle, press the desired water temperature pre-set button once. The

Digital Kettle will 'beep' once and the selected temperature button will flash until the water

has reached the pre-set temperature at which point the Digital Kettle will 'beep' 3 times

indicating that the cycle is complete.

12. You may change your selection at any stage during a pre-set cycle by simply pressing

another pre-set button once. The digital Kettle will 'beep' once indicating that a new pre-set

temperature has been selected and the new pre-set button will start flashing.

13. Please note that the surface of the heating element will maintain residual heat after heating.

BOIL MODE (STARTING WITH COLD WATER)

Select and press the pre-set 100°C button once. The Digital Kettle will 'beep' once and the 100°C

button will flash. It will continue flashing until the water temperature reaches the pre-set temperature

of 100°C/boiling point.

1. When the water starts heating up, the water colour illumination will be green, indicating that

the water temperature is below 70°C and is heating up.

2. When the water temperature reaches 70°C, the 70°C button will illuminate and the water

colour illumination will become blue (70-79°C).

3. When the water temperature reaches 80°C, both the 70°C and 80°C buttons will illuminate

and the water colour illumination will become orange (80-94°C).

4. When the water temperature reaches 95°C, the 70°C; 80°C and 95°C buttons will illuminate

and the water colour illumination will become red (95-100°C).

5. At 100°C/boiling point the Digital Kettle will 'beep' 3 times indicating that the boiling cycle is

complete. The 70°C; 80°C and 95°C buttons will switch off and the 100°C button will stop

flashing and become a steady light for 2 minutes and then it will switch off.

6. The red water colour illumination will continue for 2 minutes and then it will switch off.

7. Should you wish to change your pre-set temperature selection at any time during the boiling

cycle, simply press the new pre-set temperature button once (e.g. 80°C button) and the

Digital Kettle will beep once, indicating that a new pre-set water temperature has been

selected. The 80°C button will start flashing.

8. THE DIGITAL KETTLE WILL SWITCH OFF AUTOMATICALLY as soon as the water reaches

boiling point or any other selected pre-set temperature. The Digital Kettle will automatically

switch off and 'beep' 3 times. The selected pre-set button will stop flashing and become a

steady light for 2 minutes and the colour illumination will continue for 2 minutes after which

both lights will switch off.

9. To switch off the Digital Kettle manually, press the selected pre-set button once and the

Digital Kettle will 'beep' once. The selected pre-set button will switch off, the water colour

illumination will switch off and the Digital Kettle will switch off. This can be done at any point

during the 'Heat Up' or 'Keep Warm' cycles.

KEEP WARM MODE

The Digital Kettle offers a unique KEEP WARM MODE that can be used before, during or on

completion of the pre-set cycle. When the water temperature reaches 70°C the KEEP WARM

function will hold the temperature constant for 30 minutes.

KEEP WARM MODE starting with hot water

Once the pre-set cycle is complete, you may activate the 'Keep Warm' function by pressing any

of the pre-set buttons for 3 seconds until the Digital Kettle 'beeps' twice. The selected pre-set

temperature button will flash until the water reaches the new pre-set temperature and then the

Digital Kettle will 'beep' 3 times. The selected pre-set temperature button will become a steady

light and the selected temperature will be maintained in 'Keep Warm' mode tor 30 minutes. After

30 minutes, the selected pre-set button and the water colour illumination will switch off and the

Digital Kettle will switch off automatically. If a different temperature is required, change the selection

at any time by simply pressing a different pre-set button for 3 seconds until the Digital Kettle 'beeps'

twice and the new pre-set button starts flashing.

KEEP WARM MODE starting with cold water

Press the pre-set button for 3 seconds until the Digital Kettle beeps twice. The selected pre-set

button will flash as the water goes through its temperature and water colour illumination cycles

until it reaches the pre-set temperature at which point the Digital Kettle will beep 3 times. The

selected pre-set button will become a steady light; the water colour illumination will remain on and

the selected temperature will be maintained in 'Keep Warm' mode for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes,

the selected pre-set button and the water colour illumination will switch off and the Digital Kettle will

switch off automatically.

The Digital Kettle offers 3 pre-set temperature settings for optimal tea and coffee brewing: 80°C,

NOTE:

This table is a recommended guide only and may vary depending on personal preference, brand

and age of tea/coffee used. Experiment with your favourite tea/coffee and select a temperature

setting option to suit your personal taste.

DESCALING

Furring up is a common problem in hard water areas, and it is recommended that you descale the

Digital Kettle regularly.

1. To descale, fill the Digital Kettle with 1 L cold water and add approximately 75ml vinegar.

2. Boil the water and allow it to stand overnight.

3. Re-boil the water the next day.

4. Discard the re-boiled water and refill the Digital Kettle with fresh water.

5. Boil the fresh water. This boiled water must also be discarded.

NOTE: Normal commercial descalers for kettles may also be used. Follow the instructions carefully

for the given descaler.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

6. Remove the mains plug from the mains electrical supply before cleaning.

7. Do not immerse the Digital Kettle in water or any other liquid.

8. Avoid the use of solvents, polish, abrasive or aerosol cleaners as they may damage the

surface of the Digital Kettle.

9. Clean the exterior by wiping with a slightly dampened soft cloth.

10. The inside of the Digital Kettle may be cleaned using a mild detergent. It must be thoroughly

rinsed before re-use.

11. The removable mesh filter prevents scale from falling into your cup when pouring. This filter

neither treats nor removes the hardness of the water. Never remove the filter when the

appliance is full of hot water.

12. It is important to clean the filter regularly.

13. Remove the filter and place it under a running tap whilst wet, then dry it and brush it gently

before re-inserting it into the spout.

14. NOTE: Make sure that the Digital Kettle is thoroughly dried before reconnecting it to the

mains electrical supply.

WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

The warranty will not be valid if:

1. The product has not been installed, operated or maintained in accordance with the

manufacturer's operating instructions provided with the product

2. The product has been used for any purpose other than its intended function.

3. The damage or malfunction of the product is caused by any of the following:

• Incorrect voltage

• Accidents (including liquid or moisture damage)

• Misuse or abuse of the product

• Faulty or improper installation

• Mains supply problems, including power spikes or lightning damage

• Infestation by insects

• Tampering or modification of the product by persons other than authorised service personnel

• Exposure to abnormally corrosive materials

• Insertion of foreign objects into the unit

• Used with accessories not pre-approved by Brabantia

BELANGRIJKE VEILIGHEIDSMAATREGELEN

1. Lees de volgende veiligheidsmaatregelen grondig door voordat u de digitale waterkoker

inschakelt.

2. Bewaar deze handleiding op een veilige plek voor toekomstige referentie. Bewaar ook de

verkoopbon en indien mogelijk, de doos met binnenverpakking.

3. Als u onderstaande instructies niet opvolgt, kan dit leiden tot elektrische schokken, vuur of

ernstig persoonlijk letsel.

4. Voordat u de digitale waterkoker op de stroomvoorziening aansluit, controleert u of de

spanning en de stroomvoorziening overeenkomen met de specificaties weergegeven op het

typeplaatje van het apparaat.

5. Dit apparaat kan worden gebruikt door kinderen vanaf 8 jaar mits zij begeleiding

of instructies krijgen met betrekking tot het gebruik van het apparaat zodat zij

het apparaat veilig kunnen gebruiken en de eventuele risico's hiervan begrijpen.

Reinigings- en gebruikersonderhoud mag niet door kinderen worden gedaan tenzij

ze ouder dan 8 zijn en hierin worden begeleid. Houd het apparaat en het snoer

buiten bereik van kinderen jonger dan 8 jaar. Dit apparaat kan worden gebruikt door

personen met fysieke, zintuiglijke of mentale beperkingen, of mensen met gebrek

aan ervaring en kennis mits zij begeleiding of instructies krijgen met betrekking tot

het gebruik van het apparaat zodat zij het apparaat veilig kunnen gebruiken en de

eventuele risico's hiervan begrijpen. Kinderen mogen niet met het apparaat spelen.

6. Dompel de digitale waterkoker niet in water of andere vloeistoffen.

7. Plaats de digitale waterkoker altijd op een stabiel, vlak, hitte-bestendig oppervlak. Zorg er

ook voor dat het oppervlak het gewicht van de eenheid kan houden tijdens gebruik.

8. De digitale waterkoker is ALLEEN bedoeld voor HUISHOUDELIJK GEBRUIK en mag niet

gebruikt worden voor commerciële doeleinden. De digitale waterkoker mag alleen gebruikt

worden voor de beoogde doelstelling.

9. Laat het apparaat niet onbeheerd tijdens gebruik.

10. Verplaats de digitale waterkoker niet of til deze niet op tijdens gebruik of wanneer de

waterkoker is aangesloten op de stroomvoorziening.

11. Het gebruik van hulpstukken die niet zijn aanbevolen door de fabrikant, moeten niet worden

gebruikt omdat dit persoonlijk letsel of schade aan het apparaat kan veroorzaken.

12. Laat de digitale waterkoker afkoelen voor het reinigen

13. Controleer of de digitale waterkoker is uitgeschakeld en verwijder de stekker uit de

stroomvoorziening als de waterkoker niet in gebruik is, voor het reinigen of als de waterkoker

wordt gerepareerd.

14. Houd de stekker stevig vast en verwijder het uit de stroomvoorziening als u het apparaat los

wilt koppelen. TREK NIET AAN HET SNOER.

15. Controleer het snoer van de digitale waterkoker regelmatig op schade. Als het snoer is

beschadigd, moet dit worden vervangen door de fabrikant of een onderhoudsmonteur om

elektrische risico's te voorkomen.

16. Voeg niet teveel water in de waterkoker. Als de waterkoker overvuld is, kan er kokend water

uit de waterkoker komen.

17. Laat het snoer niet over scherpe randen komen of in contact komen met hete oppervlaktes.

18. Dompel het snoer, de stekker of andere niet-verwijderbare onderdelen van de digitale

waterkoker niet in water of andere vloeistoffen, om risico op elektrische schokken te

voorkomen.

19. Gebruik de digitale waterkoker nooit als deze beschadigd is.

20. Alle reparaties moeten worden uitgevoerd door een gekwalificeerd elektricien. Onjuiste

reparaties kunnen de gebruiker in gevaar brengen.

21. Als u het product overdraagt aan een derde, zorg er dan voor dat de handleiding is

meegeleverd met het apparaat.

22. De waterkoker en de elektrische onderdelen mogen niet worden ondergedompeld

in water, dit kan risico's op defecten en elektrische schokken creëren. Gebruik het

apparaat niet met vochtige of natte handen.

VOOR HET EERSTE GEBRUIK

OPMERKING:

• De digitale waterkoker kan alleen worden gebruikt met de meegeleverde stroombasis.

• Verwijder al het verpakkingsmateriaal.

• Plaats de stroombasis op een droog, vlak oppervlak.

• Het wordt aanbevolen de digitale waterkoker goed te wassen en af te spoelen voor het

eerste gebruik.

DE DIGITALE WATERKOKER GEBRUIKEN

1. Zorg ervoor dat de digitale waterkoker ontkoppeld is.

2. Open het deksel door op de automatische dekselknop te drukken

3. Vul de digitale waterkoker nooit als deze op zijn basis staat.

4. Gebruik de digitale waterkoker niet zonder water.

5. Vul de digitale waterkoker met de gewenste hoeveelheid kraanwater. U kunt de digitale

waterkoker vullen door tuit om een goede instandhouding van de filter te garanderen.

6. Zorg ervoor dat het waterniveau op zijn minst tot het MIN waterniveau is gevuld en niet

verder dan het MAX niveau.

7. Plaats de digitale waterkoker op stevig op de basis wanneer deze is gevuld.

8. Zorg ervoor dat het deksel goed is gesloten door er stevig op te drukken.

9. Verbind de stekker met de stroomvoorziening en zorg ervoor dat de spanning en de

frequentie hetzelfde is als wordt aangegeven op het typeplaatje dat u kunt vinden op de

basis van de digitale waterkoker.

10. Al de vooraf ingestelde knoppen op de hendel zullen tijdelijk licht geven om aan te geven dat

er stroom is.

11. Druk een keer op de gewenste vooraf ingestelde knop voor watertemperatuur om de digitale

waterkoker te starten. De digitale waterkoker zal een keer 'piepen' en de geselecteerde knop

voor watertemperatuur zal knipperen tot de vooraf ingestelde temperatuur is bereikt. Op dit

moment zal de digitale waterkoker 3 keer 'piepen' om aan te geven dat de cyclus is voltooid.

12. U kunt uw selectie op elk gewenst moment tijdens de vooraf ingestelde cyclus wijzigen

door simpelweg op een andere vooraf ingestelde knop te drukken. De digitale waterkoker

zal een keer 'piepen' om aan te geven dat er een nieuwe vooraf ingestelde temperatuur is

geselecteerd en de nieuwe vooraf ingestelde knop zal gaan knipperen.

13. Let erop dat het oppervlak van het verwarmingselement restwarmte behoudt na de verhitting.

KOOKMODUS (BEGINNEN MET KOUD WATER)

Selecteer en druk een keer op de knop vooraf ingesteld 100°C. De digitale waterkoker zal een keer

'piepen' en de knop 100°C zal gaan knipperen. De knop blijft knipperen tot het water de vooraf

ingestelde temperatuur van 100°C/kookpunt heeft bereikt.

1. Als het water warm begint te worden, is de waterverlichting groen, dit geeft aan dat de

watertemperatuur onder 70°C is en dat het aan het opwarmen is.

2. Als de watertemperatuur 70°C heeft bereikt, gaat de knop 70°C licht geven en wordt de

waterverlichting blauw (70-79°C).

3. Als de watertemperatuur 80°C heeft bereikt, gaan zowel de knop 70°C als de knop 80°C

licht geven en wordt de waterverlichting oranje (80-94°C).

4. Als de watertemperatuur 95°C heeft bereikt, gaan de knoppen 70°C, 80°C en 95°C

lichtgeven en wordt de waterverlichting rood (95-100°C).

5. Bij 100°C/kookpunt 'piept' de digitale waterkoker 3 keer om aan te geven dat de kookcyclus

is voltooid. De knoppen 70°C, 80°C en 95°C gaan uit en de knop 100°C begint te knipperen

en wordt een continu licht voor 2 minuten en wordt daarna uitgeschakeld.

6. De rode waterkleurverlichting staat nog 2 minuten aan en wordt daarna uitgeschakeld.

7. Mocht u de vooraf ingestelde temperatuurselectie op elk gewenst moment willen wijzigen

tijdens de kookcyclus, drukt u simpelweg op de nieuwe vooraf ingestelde temperatuur (b.v.

de knop 80°C) en de digitale waterkoker piept eenmaal om aan te geven dat er een nieuwe

vooraf ingestelde watertemperatuur is geselecteerd. De knop 80°C gaat knipperen.

8. DE DIGITALE WATERKOKER SCHAKELT AUTOMATISCH UIT zodra het water het

kookpunt heeft bereikt of een andere vooraf ingestelde temperatuur. De digitale waterkoker

wordt automatisch uitgeschakeld en 'piept' 3 keer. De geselecteerde vooraf ingestelde knop

stopt met knipperen en wordt een continu licht gedurende 2 minuten en de kleurverlichting

blijft nog 2 minuten aan waarna beide lichten uitgaan.

9. Druk op de geselecteerde vooraf ingestelde knop om de digitale waterkoker uit te schakelen.

De digitale waterkoker 'piept' een keer. De geselecteerde vooraf ingestelde knop wordt

uitgeschakeld, de waterkleurverlichting wordt uitgeschakeld en de digitale waterkoker

wordt uitgeschakeld. Dit kan op elk gewenst moment tijdens de cycli 'Verwarmen' en 'Warm

houden'.

WARMHOUDMODUS

De digitale waterkoker beidt een unieke WARMHOUDMODUS die kan worden gebruikt voor,

tijdens of na de vooraf ingestelde cyclus. Als het water 70°C heeft bereikt, houdt de WARMHOUD-

functie de temperatuur constant voor 30 minuten.

WARMHOUDMODUS met heet water

Zodra de vooraf ingestelde cyclus is voltooid, kunt u de Warmhoud-functie activeren door

3 seconden op een van de vooraf ingestelde knopen te drukken tot de digitale waterkoker twee

keer 'piept'. De geselecteerde vooraf ingestelde temperatuurknop knippert tot het water de nieuwe

vooraf ingestelde temperatuur heeft bereikt en daarna 'piept' de digitale waterkoker 3 keer. De

geselecteerde vooraf ingestelde temperatuurknop geeft een continu licht en de geselecteerde

temperatuur wordt 30 minuten behouden in de Warmhoud-modus. Na 30 minuten, worden de

geselecteerde vooraf ingestelde knop en de waterkleurverlichting uitgeschakeld en de digitale

waterkoker wordt automatisch uitgeschakeld. Als een andere temperatuur vereist is, kunt u de

selectie op elk gewenst moment wijzigen door simpelweg voor 3 seconden op een andere vooraf

ingestelde knop te drukken tot de digitale waterkoker twee keer 'piept' en de nieuwe vooraf

ingestelde knop gaat knipperen.

WARMHOUDMODUS met koud water

Druk 3 seconden op de vooraf ingestelde knop tot de digitale waterkoker twee keer piept.

De geselecteerde vooraf ingestelde knop knippert terwijl het water door de temperatuur en

waterkleurverlichting cycli gaat tot het de vooraf ingestelde temperatuur bereikt, op dit punt piept

de digitale waterkoker 3 keer. De geselecteerde vooraf ingestelde knop geeft een continu licht,
