Installation Information

This document provides professional installers with basic installation and safety guidelines for using the rough-in pan accessory with Bose®

EdgeMaxTM EM90 and EM180 loudspeakers. Please read this document before attempting installation.

Use the rough-in pan to install the loudspeaker in any unfinished hard-deck ceiling, such as drywall, gypsum, or plaster. Attach the rough-

in pan to furring channels or wood studs before the ceiling is completed.

To install the rough-in pan:

1. Attach rough-in pan to ceiling furring or wood studs. See Fig. 1. The rough-in pan includes multiple pre-drilled holes to accommodate

dierent stud spacing, speaker orientation, or speaker placement.

2. Finish the ceiling.

3. Cut a hole in the finished ceiling, using the rough-in pan as a guide. See Fig. 2.

4. Install the loudspeaker in the rough-in pan by following the instructions in the Bose® EdgeMaxTM EM90 and EM180 Loudspeakers
