When using electrical appliances, in order to reduce

remove the rear cover from the Coffeemaker.
There are no user serviceable parts inside. Repairs
should be done by authorized personnel only.
■ Close supervision is necessary when any appli-
ance is used by or near children.
■ Unplug when Coffeemaker is not in use and
before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on
or taking off parts and before cleaning the
Coffeemaker.
■ Do not operate Coffeemaker without water in the
reservoir before brewing.
■ Do not operate the Coffeemaker with a damaged
cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions,
or has been damaged in any manner. Return the
Coffeemaker to the nearest authorized service
facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
■ To avoid an electrical overload, do not operate
another high-wattage appliance on the same
circuit with this Coffeemaker.
■ The use of an accessory not approved for oper-
ation with this Coffeemaker, may result in fire,
electric shock, or injury.
■ Do not use outdoors.
■ Do not let cord hang over the edge of table or
counter, or come in contact with hot surfaces.
■ Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric
burner or in a heated oven.
■ To reduce risk of fire, do not mount Coffeemaker
over or near any portion of a heating or cooking
appliance.
■ To reduce risk of fire or electic shock, do not
place any electric or gas heating or cooking
appliance under the Coffeemaker.
■ To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not
mount over a sink.
■ Do not store anything directly on top of the
appliance surface.
■ Keep the lid on the carafe when in use.
■ The carafe is designed for use with the
Coffeemaker. It must never be used on a range
top or in a microwave oven. Use only the “Keeps
Hot” plate.
■ Do not set a hot carafe down on a wet or cold
surface.
■ Do not use the carafe if the glass is cracked or
has a loose or weakened handle.
■ Do not clean the carafe with abrasive cleansers,
steel wool, or other abrasives.
■ Allow the filter basket to cool after brewing
before removal from the Coffeemaker.
■ Do not use this Coffeemaker for anything other
than its intended use.
■ Do not pour liquid other than water or the clean-
ing solution specified in this manual into the
water reservoir.
■ Remember to place the carafe on the “Keeps
Hot” plate before brewing and when using the
automatic timer feature on clock models.
■ Do not operate any electric appliance in the
presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
■ This product is intended for household use ONLY
and not for commercial or industrial use.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug—one blade
is wider than the other. To reduce the risk of
electric shock, this plug will fit into a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully
into the outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug
in any way.
TAMPER RESISTANT SCREW
This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resis-
tant screw to prevent removal of the outer
cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric
shock, do not attempt to remove the outer
cover. There are no consumer serviceable
parts inside. Repair should be done only by
authorized service personnel

■ El uso de accesorios no recomendados por el
fabricante, con esta cafetera, puede causar
incendio, choque eléctrico o lesiones personales.
■ No use la cafetera a la intemperie.
■ No permita que el cable cuelgue del borde de la
mesa o del mostrador o entre en contacto con
superficies calientes.
■ No coloque la cafetera sobre las hornillas de
gas o eléctricas ni dentro de un horno caliente.
■ Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, no instale la
cafetera sobre ni cerca de ningún elec-
trodoméstico que emita calor.
■ Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico, no

■ Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico, no
instale sobre un lavaplatos.
■ No almacene nada directamente sobre la super-
ficie de la cafetera.
■ Mantenga la jarra tapada cuando esté en uso.
■ No caliente la jarra sobre la estufa ni el horno
microondas; utilice únicamente la placa calefactora.
■ No coloque la jarra en una superficie fría ni mojada.
■ No utilice la jarra si el cristal está rajado o el
asa está floja o debilitada.
■ No limpie la jarra con productos abrasivos ni
fibra metálica.
■ Permita que el recipiente para el filtro se enfríe
antes de retirarlo de la cafetera.
■ Utilice la cafetera únicamente para prepapar café.
■ No vierta en el depósito ningún otro líquido que
no sea agua o la solución limpiadora especifica-
da en este manual.
■ Receuerde de colocar la jarra en la placa cale-
factora antes de preparar el café y cuando use el
dispositivo automático de tiempo en los modelos
con reloj.
■ No opere ningún aparato eléctrico en presencia
de gases explosivos y/o inflamables.
■ Este producto p3-ha sido diseñado SOLAMENTE
para uso doméstico y no para uso industrial o
comercial.

INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
ENCHUFE POLARIZADO
Se utilizan enchufes polarizados (con un contacto más
ancho que el otro) para reducir los riesgos de choque eléc-
trico. Cuando el cable tiene este tipo de enchufe, se ajus-
ta únicamente a un contacto polarizado. Si el enchufe no
se ajusta en su contacto, inviértalo. Si aún así no se ajus-
ta, busque la ayuda de un electricista calificado para que
instale un contacto polarizado apropiado. Por ningún
punto trate de modificar o hacerle cambios al enchufe.
TORNILLO DE SEGURIDAD
Esta unidad está equipada con un tornillo de seguridad
para prevenir que se le remueva la cubierta exterior. Para

ningún punto intente quitar esta cubierta. La unidad no
