• Before operating, make sure that either the blower or vacuum tube assembly is
locked in place.
• The power switch must be OFF in order to depress the release button for
changing blower and vacuum tube assemblies.

during operation. As a vacuum, the tool is designed to pick up dry material such as leaves,

SERVICING OF DOUBLE INSULATED APPLIANCES
Your Blower/Vac is double-insulated to give you added safety. In a double insulated
appliance, two systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding. No grounding
means is provided on a double insulated appliance, nor should a means for grounding be
added to the appliance. Servicing a double insulated appliance requires extreme care and
knowledge of the system and should be done only by qualified service personnel.
Replacement parts for a double insulated appliance must be identical to the parts they
replace. A double insulated appliance is marked with the words double insulated or "double
insulation". The symbol (square within a square) may also be marked on the appliance.
SAFETY RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS: EXTENSION CORDS
Double insulated tools have 2-wire cords and can be used with 2-wire or 3-wire extension
cords. Only round jacketed extension cords should be used, and we recommend that they
be listed by Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) (C.S.A. in Canada). If the extension will be
used outside, the cord must be suitable for outdoor use. Any cord marked as outdoor can
also be used for indoor work.
An extension cord must have adequate wire size (AWG or American Wire Gauge) for safety,
and to prevent loss of power and overheating. The smaller the gauge number of the wire, the
greater the capacity of the cable, that is 16 gauge has more capacity than 18 gauge. When
using more than one extension to make up the total length, be sure each individual
extension contains at least the minimum wire size.
To determine the minimum wire size required, refer to the chart below. Before using an
extension cord, inspect it for loose or exposed wires, damaged insulation, and defective
fittings. Make any needed repairs or replace the cord if necessary.
SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS: POLARIZED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipment has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). This equipment must be used with a suitable polarized 2 wire or 3 wire
extension cord. Polarized connections will fit together only one way. Make sure that the
receptacle end of the extension cord has large and small blade slot widths. If the plug does
not fit fully into the extension cord, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, obtain a suitable
extension cord. If the extension cord does not fit fully into the outlet, contact a qualified
electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the tool plug or extension cord in any

BEFORE OPERATINGG
•SECURING POWER SUPPLY CORD - Secure the extension cord in the tool's built-in
cord retainer as shown in Figure 12 or secure the power supply cord and a suitable
extension cord as shown in Figure 13.
SWITCH
NOTE: The switch will not operate if the release button, shown in Figure 1, is depressed.
To turn the tool ON, slide the switch forward, as shown in Figure 1. To turn tool OFF, slide
switch to the rear.
OPERATION
USE AS A BLOWER: ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, WEAR A FILTER MASK IF
THE OPERATION IS DUSTY. USE OF RUBBER GLOVES AND SUBSTANTIAL
FOOTWEAR IS RECOMMENDED WHEN WORKING OUTDOORS. FOR HOUSEHOLD
USE ONLY.
•BLOWER MODE
Ensure that the unit is switched OFF and is disconnected from the power supply.
Assemble blow tube as shown in Figure 2. (This only needs to be done the first time you
assemble the unit.)
WARNING: When turning the tool off for tube installation or any other reason, wait 10
seconds for the fan to stop rotating before disassembly.
Attach the blower tube assembly (The assembly includes the blower tubes, the fan
chamber and the blower air speed control mechanism) to the front of the tool, as shown in
Figure 3 by inserting point A into the matching recess marked point B, also shown in
Figure 3. Swing the tube up to engage the lock, as shown in Figure 4.
NOTE: The lock will not engage if the ON/OFF switch is in the forward (ON) position.
Hold the end of the blower tube approximately 7 inches (180mm) above the ground and turn
the tool ON. Using a sweeping motion, from side to side, advance slowly keeping the
accumulated debris (leaves,grass clippings etc.) in front of you, as shown in Figure 5. Once
you have blown the debris into a pile, you can convert to vacuum mode to collect the debris
for disposal.
•BLOWER AIR SPEED CONTROL
Your Blower Vac has a variable air speed feature that allows you to select the air speed
that best fits your needs. To adjust the air speed, simply slide the collar. This will allow
movement over the full range of 1 3/4 in.(44.5mm). With the slide collar in the "A" position,
as shown in Figure 6, the maximum blower speed will be 200 mph (320 kph). When
pushed forward to position "C" ( as far from the tool housing as possible; about 1 3/4
in.{44.5mm}) the speed will be approximately 140 mph (225 kph). Position "B" (midway
between the two) permits infinite adjustment between positions "A" and "C". A little
practice will help you determine what is the best speed for your application.
USE AS A VACUUM CLEANER: ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES. WEAR A FILTER
MASK IF THE OPERATION IS DUSTY. USE OF RUBBER GLOVES AND SUBSTANTIAL
FOOTWEAR IS RECOMMENDED WHEN WORKING OUTDOORS. FOR HOUSEHOLD
USE ONLY.
•REMOVING THE BLOWER TUBE ASSEMBLY
Switch off the unit and unplug from the outlet.
To disconnect the blower tube assembly from the tool, depress the release button, shown
in Figure 1, ensuring that the tube does not fall to the ground.
NOTE: The release button will not depress if the ON/OFF switch is in the forward (ON)
position.
•VACUUMING MODE
Ensure that the unit is switched off and disconnected from the power supply. Position the
vacuum tube and extension tube as shown in Figure 7. Push the extension tube into the
vacuum tube until it snaps into place and the arrows shown in Figure 7A are covered as in
Figure 7B. If necessary, this can be made easier by wiping the end of the extension tube
with a cloth dampened with soapy water only.
Attach the vacuum tube assembly (The assembly includes the extension tube, the
vacuum tube and the fan chamber.) to the front of the tool. Insert point "A", shown in
Figure 8, into the matching recess in the front of the tool point "B", also shown in Figure 8,
and swing the tube up to engage the lock, as shown in Figure 9.
Attach the collection bag to the vacuum outlet using the bayonet fitting, as shown in
Figure 10.
Hold the vacuum as shown in Figure 11. Tilt the vacuum tube slightly and use a sweeping
action similar to the action described under Blower Mode. The light debris will flow into
and through the vacuum tube into the collection bag. Things such as leaves and small
twigs will be mulched as they pass through the fan chamber so that the collection bag will
hold a lot of debris.
When the collection bag gets full, suction will noticeably decrease. Turn off and unplug the
tool and unzip the bag to empty before continuing to operate.
CAUTION: NEVER UNZIP THE COLLECTION BAG WITHOUT FIRST TURNING OFF
AND UNPLUGGING THE VACUUM.
NOTE: If the suction decreases and the bag is not full, the vacuum tube is probably
clogged with debris. Turn off and unplug the vacuum and clear the tube before
continuing.
MAINTENANCE
•CLEANING AND STORAGE
TURN OFF AND UNPLUG TOOL! (Unplug extension cord at power source.)
Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the tool. Clean out any clippings which
may have accumulated in the Blower/Vac. When used properly with dry leaves the fan
chamber of your Blower/Vac should remain clean. If damp earth and debris are ingested
some of the particles may build up on the inside of the fan chamber. If this happens the
performance of the unit will decrease. This area can be cleaned out by gently wiping out
with a damp rag after disconnecting from the power source. Your Blower/Vac should be
stored in a dry place.
CAUTION: DO NOT POUR OR SPRAY WATER ON THE TOOL IN AN ATTEMPT
TO CLEAN.
Do not store the tool on or adjacent to fertilizers or chemicals. Such storage can cause
rapid corrosion of the metal parts.
Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get inside the
tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
IMPORTANT: To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and
adjustment should be performed by authorized service centers or other qualified service
organizations, always using identical replacement parts.

whom it was purchased (provided that the store is a participating retailer). Returns should be
made within the time period of the retailerʼs policy for exchanges (usually 30 to 90 days after
the sale). Proof of purchase may be required. Please check with the retailer for their specific
return policy regarding returns that are beyond the time set for exchanges.

•NE PAS utiliser lorsque le cordon ou la fiche sont endommagés. Confier lʼoutil à un centre
de service lorsquʼil ne fonctionne pas convenablement, lorsquʼil est tombé ou endommagé,
lorsquʼil a été laissé à lʼextérieur ou lorsquʼil est tombé à lʼeau.
•NE PAS tirer sur le cordon ni se servir du cordon pour transporter lʼoutil. Ne pas tirer sur le
cordon près dʼarêtes tranchantes ou de coins. Éloigner le cordon de toute surface chauffée.
•NE PAS débrancher lʼoutil en tirant sur le cordon. Pour le débrancher, en saisir la fiche et
non le cordon.
•NE RIEN insérer dans les ouvertures. Ne pas utiliser lʼoutil lorsquʼune ouverture est
bouchée; garder les ouvertures exemptes de poussière, de charpie, de cheveux et de tout
ce qui peut réduire le débit dʼair.
•ÉLOIGNER les cheveux, les vêtements amples, les doigts et le corps des ouvertures ainsi
que des pièces mobiles.
•METTRE TOUTES LES COMMANDES HORS FONCTION avant de débrancher lʼoutil.
•NE PAS utiliser pour aspirer de lʼeau, tout autre liquide ou des objets mouillés comme des
feuilles. Ne jamais immerger lʼoutil, au complet ou en partie.
•NE PAS manipuler la fiche ni lʼoutil avec les mains mouillées.
•S’ASSURER QUE LES ENFANTS, LES OBSERVATEURS ET LES ANIMAUX SE
TROUVENT À UNE DISTANCE minimale de 10 mètres (30 pieds) de la surface de travail
lorsquʼon démarre lʼoutil ou quʼon sʼen sert.
•EXAMINER LA ZONE avant dʼutiliser lʼoutil. Enlever tout débris ou objet dur (comme des
pierres, du verre, des fils) qui peut ricocher, être éjecté ou provoquer des blessures ou des
dommages lors de lʼutilisation de lʼoutil. Lorsquʼon se sert de lʼoutil pour aspirer, celui-ci est
conçu pour ramasser des matériaux secs (comme des feuilles, de lʼherbe, de petites
branches et des bouts de papier). Ne pas aspirer des roches, du gravier, du métal, du verre
cassé ou dʼautres objets semblables.
AVERTISSEMENT : Afin de minimiser les risques de secousses électriques, protéger
de la pluie, ne pas sʼen servir sur des surfaces mouillées et ranger à lʼintérieur.
AVERTISSEMENT : Arrêter et débrancher lʼappareil. Attendre au moins 10 secondes
ou jusquʼà ce que le ventilateur sʼarrête complètement avant de retirer lʼassemblage du
souffleur ou du tube dʼaspiration.
CONSERVER CES MESURES.
ENTRETIEN DES OUTILS À DOUBLE ISOLATION
La souffleuse-aspirateur à double isolation procure une protection supplémentaire. Dans
ce type dʼoutil, les deux systèmes dʼisolant remplacent la mise à la terre. Il nʼy a aucun
moyen de mettre lʼoutil à la terre et aucun système de mise à la terre ne doit être ajouté à
lʼoutil. Lʼentretien dʼun outil à double isolation exige beaucoup de soin et une excellente
connaissance du système; il ne devrait être confié quʼà un technicien compétent. Les
pièces de rechange de ce type dʼoutil doivent être identiques aux pièces dʼorigine. Un outil
à double isolation porte lʼinscription «DOUBLE INSULATED» ou «DOUBLE INSULATION».
Le symbole (un carré à lʼintérieur dʼun carré) peut aussi figurer sur lʼoutil.
MESURES DE SÉCURITÉ : CORDONS DE RALLONGE
Les outils à double isolation sont munis dʼun cordon bifilaire et ils peuvent être utilisés avec
un cordon de rallonge muni de 2 ou de 3 fils. Il faut seulement utiliser des cordons de
rallonge à gaine ronde et ils devraient être homologués par lʼorganisme américain
Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) ou la CSA (au Canada). Lorsque le cordon de rallonge est
utilisé à lʼextérieur, il doit être prévu à cet effet. Tout cordon extérieur peut servir
à lʼintérieur.
Les cordons de rallonge doivent être faits de conducteurs de calibre approprié (AWG ou
jauge américaine des fils) par mesure de sécurité et afin de prévenir les pertes de
puissance et les surchauffes. Le numéro de calibre du fil est inversement proportionnel à la
capacité du cordon. Ainsi, un cordon de calibre 16 a une capacité supérieure à un cordon
de calibre 18. Lorsquʼil est nécessaire dʼutiliser plus dʼun cordon de rallonge, veiller à ce
que chaque cordon ait au moins le calibre minimal.
Le tableau ci-dessous permet de déterminer le calibre minimal des cordons.Avant dʼutiliser
un cordon de rallonge, sʼassurer quʼil nʼy a pas de fils dénudés ni détachés, et que lʼisolant
et les raccords ne sont pas défectueux. Effectuer les réparations nécessaires ou remplacer
le cordon, le cas échéant.
MESURES DE SÉCURITÉ : FICHE POLARISÉE
Afin de minimiser les risques de secousses électriques, le produit comporte une fiche
polarisée (une lame plus large que l'autre). Il faut utiliser une rallonge polarisée appropriée,
bifilaire ou trifilaire, avec ce produit. Ce genre de fiche n'entre que d'une façon dans une
prise polarisée. S'assurer que la prise de la rallonge comporte des fentes de dimensions
appropriées. Lorsqu'on ne peut insérer la fiche à fond dans la prise de la rallonge, il faut
tenter de le faire après avoir inversé les lames de côté. Si la fiche n'entre toujours pas dans
la prise, il faut se procurer une rallonge appropriée. Lorsqu'on ne peut insérer la fiche de la
rallonge à fond dans la prise, il faut communiquer avec un électricien certifié. Il ne faut pas
neutraliser la fiche de l'outil ni celle de la rallonge.
AVANT DE FAIRE FONCTIONNER L’OUTIL
• FIXATION DU CORDON D’ALIMENTATION : Fixer la rallonge dans le dispositif intégré
prévu à cette fin (voir la figure 12) ou encore, fixer le cordon dʼalimentation ainsi que la
rallonge appropriée tel quʼillustré à la figure 13.
INTERRUPTEUR
REMARQUE : lʼinterrupteur ne fonctionne pas si le bouton de déclenchement, illustré à la
figure 1, est enfoncé. Pour mettre lʼoutil en MARCHE (position «ON»), glisser lʼinterrupteur
vers lʼavant, tel quʼillustré à la figure 1; le glisser vers lʼarrière pour arrêter lʼoutil.
FONCTIONNEMENT
LORSQU’ON UTILISE L’OUTIL EN MODE SOUFFLEUR, TOUJOURS PORTER DES
LUNETTES DE SÉCURITÉ, ET UN MASQUE FILTRANT EN PRÉSENCE DE
POUSSIÈRES. ON RECOMMANDE D’UTILISER DES GANTS DE CAOUTCHOUC ET
DE PORTER DES CHAUSSURES SÉCURITAIRES LORSQU’ON EFFECTUE DES
TRAVAUX À L’EXTÉRIEUR. POUR USAGE RÉSIDENTIEL SEULEMENT.
•MODE SOUFFLEUR
Sʼassurer que lʼoutil soit en position dʼarrêt et quʼil soit débranché. Assembler le tube
dʼaspiration, tel quʼillustré à la figure 2. (Lʼassemblage est requis seulement avant la
première utilisation.)
AVERTISSEMENT : Lorsque lʼoutil est mis en position dʼarrêt en vue dʼinstaller le tube
ou pour toute autre raison, toujours attendre 10 secondes pour que le ventilateur sʼarrête
avant de procéder au démontage.
Fixer lʼassemblage du tube du souffleur (soit les tubes du souffleur, lʼenceinte du ventilateur
et le mécanisme de commande de vitesse de lʼoutil) à la partie antérieure de lʼoutil, tel
quʼillustré à la figure 3. Pour ce faire, insérer le point A dans la cavité appropriée (point B
illustré également à la figure 3). Faire basculer le tube vers le haut pour engager le
dispositif de verrouillage, tel quʼillustré à la figure 4.
REMARQUE : le dispositif de verrouillage ne s’engage pas si l’interrupteur MARCHE
/ ARRÊT («ON/OFF») en placé vers l’avant, soit en position de MARCHE.
Tenir lʼextrémité du tube à environ 180 mm (7 po) au-dessus du sol et mettre lʼoutil en
MARCHE. Effectuer un mouvement de balayage latéral en avançant lentement, tout en
sʼassurant que les débris (feuillages, tontes de gazon, etc.) sʼaccumulent devant soi (figure
5). Utiliser ensuite le mode aspirateur pour ramasser lʼamoncellement de débris en vue de
la mise au rebut.
•MÉCANISME DE COMMANDE DE VITESSE DU SOUFFLEUR
Le souffleur Vac est muni dʼune commande de vitesse variable permettant de sélectionner
la vitesse qui convient le mieux aux besoins de chaque tâche. En effet, pour obtenir la
vitesse voulue, il suffit de glisser le collier coulissant le long de la plage de réglage de 44,5
mm (1-3/4 po, à la position appropriée. La position A, illustrée à la figure 6, permet dʼobtenir
