Sécurité

• Ne pas installer pendant un orage.

• Utiliser à l’intérieur seulement.

• Ne pas installer le protecteur de surtension dans un endroit trop chaud ou humide.

• Ne pas utiliser avec l’équipement d'aquarium.

AVERTISSEMENT : n'installez pas l'appareil si le câblage électrique entre la prise électrique dans

laquelle il est branché et le panneau électrique ne mesure pas au moins 10 mètres (30 pieds).

Témoins et commutateurs

Protection assurée - Lorsque le commutateur d’alimentation est mis en position de marche, le témoin

vert de « Protection Working » s’allume pour indiquer que l’appareil est capable de protéger l’équipement

en cas de surtensions dangereuses. L’équipement sera protégé, même lorsque le commutateur

d’alimentation est en position d’arrêt. Si le témoin ne s’allume pas lorsque le commutateur est mis en

position de marche, l’appareil est endommagé et ne peut plus protéger l’équipement. Dans ce cas, on doit

le retourner conformément aux instructions données au verso.

Défaut de câblage - Le témoin rouge de « Site Wiring Fault » indique que le câblage du bâtiment présente

des risques de choc électrique. S’il s’allume, contactez un électricien qualifié afin de corriger le problème

de câblage.

Commutateur d’alimentation/disjoncteur - Le combiné commutateur d’alimentation et disjoncteur

permet de mettre les prises de l’appareil sous tension et remplit la fonction de disjoncteur, afin de protéger

l’équipement connecté contre les surcharges (>15 ampères). Si le disjoncteur a été déclenché par une

surcharge, débrancher un ou plusieurs des appareils et le réarmer en mettant le commutateur

d’alimentation en position d’arrêt (« OFF »), puis de marche (« ON »).

Voyant de détection des surintensités (« OVERCURRENT DETECTION ») (P6H) – Ce voyant jaune

s’allume quand le parasurtenseur reçoit plus de 12 ampères. Débranchez l’appareil dont le branchement a

causé l’illumination du voyant.

Installation

1. Assurez-vous que le commutateur d’alimentation est en position d’arrêt (« OFF »).

2. Branchez la fiche du protecteur de surtension sur une prise de réseau électrique à 3 broches

exclusivement.

3. Branchez la fiche d’alimentation de votre ordinateur ou d’autres pièces d’équipement électrique sur

les prises du protecteur.

Remarque: Vérifiez que l’ordinateur et l’équipement électrique fonctionnent correctement avant de

les brancher sur le protecteur de surtension.

4. Pour les modèles P7T seulement, brancher un cordon de téléphone modulaire sur une prise

téléphonique murale et sur la prise du protecteur de tension marquée « IN » (entrée). Brancher un

autre cordon de téléphone modulaire sur la prise du marquée « OUT » (sortie)protecteur de tension

et votre téléphone, modem ou télécopieur.

5. Pour le modèle P7V, branchez un câble coaxial modulaire entre la prise murale et la prise du

protecteur de surtention marquée « in ». Branchez un autre câble coaxial entre la prise du protecteur

de surtention marquée « out » et le matériel câblé ou le modem-câble à protéger.

6. Mettre le commutateur d’alimentation en position de marche (« ON ») pour alimenter l’équipement

branché.

Note

Cet appareil comporte une fonction interne qui déconnecte le dispositif de protection contre

les surtensions à la fin de sa durée utile tout en continuant à transmettre le courant à l’appareil

connecté – qui n’est alors plus pr vous satisfait pas, suivez lesotégé. Si cette situation ne

Indicators and Switches

Protection Working - When the power switch is turned on, the green ‘Protection Working’ indicator

illuminates to tell you the surge protector is capable of protecting your equipment from harmful electrical

surges. Your equipment will be protected even when the surge protector’s power switch is turned off. If

the indicator does not illuminate when the power switch is turned on, the unit has sustained damage and is

no longer capable of protecting your equipment. It should be returned according to the instructions on the

reverse side of the page.

Site Wiring Fault - The red ‘Site Wiring Fault’ indicator tells you that the building wiring presents a

potential shock hazard. If this indicator lights, contact a qualified electrician to correct the problem with

the building wiring.

Power Switch/Circuit Breaker - The combination power switch/circuit breaker turns on power to the

surge protector’s receptacles and acts as a circuit breaker to protect (>15 amps). If theagainst overloads

circuit breaker has tripped due to an overload, first unplug one or more pieces of equipment and then reset

the circuit breaker by turning the switch OFF and then ON.

Overcurrent Detection Indicator (P6H) - Illuminates (yellow) when the unit is loaded above 12 amps.

Disconnect the device that caused the indicator to illuminate.

Installation

1. Make sure the surge protector’s power switch is turned OFF.

2. Plug the surge protector’s power cord into a 3-prong, grounded outlet only.

3. Plug the power cord from your computer and/or other electrical equipment into the surge protector’s

outlets.

Note:Verify your computer and electrical equipment operate correctly before plugging them into the

surge protector.

4. For P7T, connect a modular telephone cord between the telephone wall outlet and the surge protector

jack marked “IN”. Connect another modular telephone cord between the surge protector jack marked

“OUT” and the telephone, modem or fax machine.

5. For P7V, connect a modular coaxial cable between the cable wall outlet and the surge protector jack

marked “in”. Connect another coaxial cable between the surge protector jack marked “out” and the

cable equipment or cable modem being protected.

6. Turn ON the surge protector’s power switch to supply power to the connected equipment.

Note:This device features an internal protection that will disconnect the surge protection component

at the end of its useful life but will maintain power to the load - now unprotected. If this situation is

undesirable for the application, follow the manufacturer's instructions for replacing the device.

Schneider Electric IT (SEIT) warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship

under normal use and service for the lifetime of the original purchaser. Its obligation under this warranty

is limited to repairing or replacing, at its sole option, any such defective products. To obtain service under

warranty you must obtain a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) number from SEIT or an SEIT

Service Center with transportation charges prepaid and must be accompanied by a brief description of the

problem and proof of date and place of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser.

Instalación

fournie. Tous les appareils connectés doivent porter l'approbation UL ou CSA.

2. Le produit APC by Schneider Electric doit être branché dans une prise correctement câblée et mise à la terre. Aucune rallonge électrique ni aucun

adaptateur, autre câble de mise à la terre ou connexion électrique ne doit être utilisé, à l'exception d'autres produits APC by Schneider Electric fonctionnant

sur une alimentation standard de 120 Volts. L'installation ne doit comprendre aucun produit de protection de l'alimentation fourni par un fabricant concurrent

Présentation d'une réclamation au titre de la déclaration de protection d'appareils :

1. Si toutes les conditions de couverture sont remplies, appelez le service à la clientèle d'APC by Schneider Electric au 800 800-4APC et demandez un numéro

3. Inscrivez le numéro d'autorisation de retour de matériel sur le produit APC by Schneider Electric que vous retournez.

4. Emballez le produit APC by Schneider Electric dans son emballage d'origine (ou, si vous ne l'avez plus, demandez à SEIT un nouvel emballage). Inscrivez

clairement le numéro d'autorisation de retour de matériel sur l'extérieur de la boîte.

6. SEIT examinera le produit afin de confirmer qu'il est défectueux et qu'il a été endommagé par des phénomènes transitoires transmis par une ligne

d'électricité c.a. (ligne téléphonique, de réseau ou de câblodistribution). (A) Si l'évaluation de SEIT ne fournit aucune preuve de dommage provenant de

phénomènes transitoires transmis par une ligne d'électricité c.a. (ligne téléphonique, de réseau ou de câblodistribution, le cas échéant), SEIT enverra au

client (I) un rapport décrivant les tests effectués et (II) un avis de rejet de la réclamation. (B) Si le produit APC by Schneider Electric présente des signes

d'endommagement attribuables à des phénomènes transitoires transmis par une ligne d'électricité c.a. (ligne téléphonique, de réseau ou de câblodistribution,

le cas échéant), SEIT demandera que tous les appareils connectés pour lesquels une réclamation en vertu de la déclaration de protection d'appareils a été

présentée soient envoyés pour évaluation à SEIT ou à un centre de service agréé. S'il est établi que l'appareil connecté a été endommagé par des

phénomènes transitoires transmis par une ligne d'électricité c.a. (ligne téléphonique, de réseau ou de câblodistribution, le cas échéant), SEIT, à son entière

discrétion, vous autorisera à faire réparer l'appareil ou vous remboursera l'appareil endommagé à sa juste valeur marchande, jusqu'à concurrence des

montants stipulés ci-dessus. Veuillez conserver l'appareil endommagé ou toute pièce endommagée.

7. Si SEIT vous autorise à faire réparer l'appareil connecté, la réparation doit être effectuée par un centre de service agréé par le fabricant de l'appareil

connecté. SEIT se réserve le droit de contacter le centre de service agréé pour discuter des frais de réparation, du diagnostic de réparation et du dommage

occasionné à l'appareil connecté afin de déterminer si celui-ci a été causé par des phénomènes transitoires transmis par une ligne d'électricité c.a. (ligne

téléphonique, de réseau ou de câblodistribution, le cas échéant), et de demander que le centre de service envoie l'appareil connecté ou les pièces

défectueuses à SEIT pour inspection.

8. Après avoir établi que le dommage a été causé par le manquement du produit SEIT à protéger l'appareil connecté contre les phénomènes transitoires

transmis par une ligne d'électricité c.a. (ligne téléphonique, de réseau ou de câblodistribution, le cas échéant), APC by Schneider Electric , à son entière

“Equipment Protection Policy”

’In the 50 US States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Bermuda for 120 Volt Products’

If your electronic equipment is damaged by power line transients on an AC power line (120 volt) while directly and properly connected to a

standard APC by Schneider Electric 120 volt product covered by the Equipment Protection Policy (“connected equipment”), and if all of the

remaining conditions specified below are met, Schneider Electric (SEIT) will, at SEIT’s sole option, during the period specified below, replace

the APC by Schneider Electric product and either (a) pay for the repair of the equipment or (b) reimburse you for the fair market value, as

determined by the then current price list of the Orion Blue Book (or equivalent), of the connected equipment, in an amount not to exceed the

dollar limits stated below, if SEIT determines that the damage was caused by the failure of the APC by Schneider Electric product to protect

against power line transients, (telephone line, network, or CATV transients, if applicable). Power line transients that APC by Schneider Electric

products have been designed to protect against, as recognized by industry standards, include spikes and surges on AC power lines (not

designed as protection against swells as defined by IEEE 1100-1992). Protection from telephone line transients applies only to APC by

Schneider Electric products which offer telephone line protection, and in cases in which such protection is available, telephone service

equipment must include a properly installed and operating “primary protection” device at the service entrance (such devices are normally added

during telephone installation) in order to be covered for telephone line transients. Protection of CATV (Cable Television) connected equipment

from transients applies only to APC by Schneider Electric products which offer such protection, and in such cases, the CATV service must be

properly grounded according to the codes set forth in the National Electric Code (NEC) in order to be covered for CATV transients. Protection

from network line transients applies only to APC by Schneider Electric products which offer network line protection.

This Schneider Electric policy applies to APC by Schneider Electric ProtectNet products if the power line to the equipment it is protecting is

using only APC by Schneider Electric products, with an applicable Equipment Protection Policy, to protect against power line transients. The

coverage of the ProtectNet product will then be covered under the APC by Schneider Electric power protection product Equipment Protection

Policy. This policy does not apply to APC by Schneider Electric ProtectNet products if used individually without APC by Schneider Electric

AC power protection products.

SEIT reserves the right to determine whether the damage to the connected equipment is due to APC by Schneider Electric product failure by

requesting that damaged equipment be sent to Schneider Electric for inspection. This policy is in excess of, and applies only to the extent

necessary beyond any coverage for the connected equipment provided by other sources, including, but not limited to, any manufacturer’s

warranty, and any extended warranty coverage.

Equipment Protection Policy Dollar Limits

For customers that meet the qualifications and conditions set forth in this policy, SEIT will provide reimbursement (cost of repair or fair market

value) up to the dollar amount listed at http://www.apcc.com/support/service/equipment_protection_policy.cfm. You can also call at 1-800-800-

4APC or fax us at 1-401-788-2743 to request this information.

Eligibility for coverage under the Equipment Protection Policy:

1. You must register the product by returning to the warranty card provided with the product within 10 days of purchase. AllSchneider Electric

information must be filled in, and you should retain a copy for your records. The warranty card must clearly identify the types of electronic

equipment that will be plugged into the APC by Schneider Electric product for which protection under this policy is claimed. All connected

equipment must be UL or CSA approved.

2. The APC by Schneider Electric product must be plugged into properly wired and grounded outlets; no extension cords, adapters, other

ground wires, or electrical connections may be used, with the sole exception of other standard APC by Schneider Electric 120 volt products.

The installation must not include power protection products made by any manufacturer other than Schneider Electric. The installation must

comply with all applicable electrical and safety codes set forth pursuant to the National Electrical Code (NEC).

3. Any claim under the Equipment Protection Policy must be made within 10 days of the date of alleged damage to the connected equipment.

4. The Equipment Protection Policy covers only standard APC by Schneider Electric 120 volt products used in the 50 US states, Canada, and

Bermuda.

What is not covered under the Product Policy:

1. Restoration of lost data and reinstallation of software are not covered.

2. This policy does not cover damage from a cause other than AC power line transients, except for damage due to telephone line, network or

CATV transients, which is covered only if the APC by Schneider Electric product offers such protection.

In addition, the following are expressly excluded from coverage:

3. Damage caused by failure to provide a suitable installation environment for the product (including, but not limited to, lack of a good electrical

ground).

4. Damage caused by the use of the APC by Schneider Electric product for purposes other than those for which it was designed.

5. Damage caused by accidents, or disasters such as fire, flood, or wind.

6. Damage caused by abuse, misuse, alteration, modification, or negligence.

7. This policy is null and void if, in SEIT’s view, the APC by Schneider Electric product has been tampered with or altered in any way.

8. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THIS POLICY, IN NO CASE SHALL SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC BE LIABLE UNDER THE TERMS

OF THIS POLICY FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL,

INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR MULTIPLE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THE APC BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC

PRODUCT OR DAMAGE TO THE CONNECTED EQUIPMENT, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ON WHICH SUCH CLAIM IS

BASED, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. SUCH DAMAGES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS

OF PROFITS, LOSS OF SAVINGS OR REVENUE, LOSS OF USE OF THE APC BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC PRODUCT OR THE

CONNECTED EQUIPMENT OR ANY ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, LOSS OF SOFTWARE, COST OF CAPITAL, COST OF ANY

SUBSTITUTE EQUIPMENT, FACILITIES OR SERVICES, LABOR, DOWNTIME, THE CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES, INCLUDING

CUSTOMERS, AND INJURY TO PROPERTY.

Submitting an Equipment Protection Policy Claim:

1. If all of the conditions for coverage are satisfied, call the APC by Schneider Electric customer service department at (800) 800-4APC and

obtain an EPP RMA (Equipment Protection Policy Returned Material Authorization) number. SEIT will forward to you an Equipment

Protection Policy claim form, which must be completed and filed within 30 days.

2. Mail the completed claim forms to: APC by Schneider Electric, Attention: Claims Department, 132 Fairgrounds Road, PO Box 278, West

Kingston, RI 02892

3. Mark the Equipment Protection Policy RMA number on the APC by Schneider Electric product you are returning.

4. Pack the APC by Schneider Electric product in its original packaging (or request packing materials from SEIT if the packaging has been

discarded). Mark the EPP RMA number clearly on the outside of box.

5. Ship the product (one way shipping charges paid by you) to:

APC by Schneider Electric, 1600 Division Road, Dock 25, West Warwick, RI 02893, Attn: EPP RMA#________

6. SEIT will evaluate the product to determine its level of functionality, and will examine the product for evidence of damage from AC power line

transients (telephone line, network and CATV transients, if applicable). (A) If SEIT’s evaluation provides no evidence of damage from power

line transients (telephone line, network or CATV transients, if applicable), SEIT will send to the customer (I) a report summarizing the tests

performed and (ii) a rejection of claim notice. (B) If the APC by Schneider Electric product shows evidence of damage from power line

transients (telephone line, network or CATV transients, if applicable), SEIT will request that all connected equipment for which an Equipment

Protection Policy claim has been submitted, be sent for evaluation to either SEIT or an authorized service center. If it is determined that the

connected equipment has been damaged from AC power line transients (telephone line, network or CATV transients, if applicable), SEIT will,

in its discretion, either authorize you to have the equipment repaired or reimburse you for the fair market value of the damaged equipment, up

to the dollar limits stated above. Please save the damaged connected equipment or all damaged parts.

7. If you are authorized by SEIT to have the connected equipment repaired, the repair must be performed at a service center that is authorized

by the manufacturer of the connected equipment. SEIT reserves the right to contact the authorized service center directly to discuss repair

costs and repair diagnosis, and damage to the connected equipment to determine if it was caused by AC power line transients (telephone

line, network or CATV transients, if applicable) and the right to request that the service center forward the connected equipment or

components of the connected equipment to SEIT for inspection.

8. SEIT will, after determining that the damage was caused by the failure of the APC by Schneider Electric product to protect against AC

power line transients (telephone line, network or CATV transients, if applicable), issue payment to you, in its sole discretion, for either costs of

repair or the fair market value of the connected equipment, up to the dollar limits stated above. SEIT reserves the right to require you to

transfer title and deliver the connected equipment to SEIT if it chooses to reimburse you for the fair market value of the connected equipment.

9. Unless modified in a writing signed by SEIT and you, the terms of this policy are understood to be the complete and exclusive agreement

between the parties, superseding all prior agreements, oral and written, and all other communications between the parties relating to the

subject matter of this agreement. No employee of Schneider Electric or any other party is authorized to make any representations beyond

those made in this agreement concerning the Equipment Protection Policy.

PÉRDIDA DEL USO DEL PRODUCTO APC BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC O DEL EQUIPO CONECTADO, O DE CUALQUIER EQUIPO ASOCIADO,

PÉRDIDA DE SOFTWARE, COSTO DE CAPITAL, COSTO DE CUALQUIER EQUIPO DE REEMPLAZO, INSTALACIONES O SERVICIOS, TRABAJO,

TIEMPO DE INACTIVIDAD, RECLAMOS DE TERCEROS, QUE INCLUYE A CLIENTES Y DAÑOS A LA PROPIEDAD.

Presentación de un reclamo de acuerdo a la Póliza de protección del equipo:

1. Si se cumplen todas las condiciones de cobertura, llame al departamento de servicio de atención al cliente de APC by Schneider Electric al (800) 800-4APC

y obtenga un número de EPP RMA (Equipment Protection Policy Returned Material Authorization, Autorización para la devolución de materiales de acuerdo

realizadas y (ii) una nota del rechazo del reclamo. (B) Si el producto APC by Schneider Electric muestra evidencias de daños causados por sobrecargas

momentáneas en una línea de alimentación (sobrecargas momentáneas en líneas telefónicas, redes o CATV, si corresponde), SEIT se solicitará que se

envíe a SEIT o a un centro de servicio autorizado todo el equipo conectado para el cual se presentó un reclamo de acuerdo a la Póliza de protección del

reembolsará el dinero por un valor correspondiente del mercado del equipo dañado, hasta los límites en dólares establecidos más arriba. Conserve el

equipo conectado o las partes dañadas.

7. Si SEIT lo autoriza a reparar el equipo conectado, la reparación debe realizarse en un centro de servicio autorizado por el fabricante del equipo conectado.

SEIT se reserva el derecho de contactar directamente al centro de servicio autorizado para tratar los costos de reparación, el diagnóstico y el daño al equipo

conectado para determinar si fue causado por sobrecargas momentáneas en una línea de suministro de energía de CA (sobrecargas momentáneas en

líneas telefónicas, redes o CATV, si corresponde) y el derecho de solicitar que el centro de servicio envíe el equipo conectado o los componentes del equipo

conectado a SEIT para su inspección.

8. Después de determinar que el daño fue causado por la falla del producto SEIT de proteger contra daños por sobrecargas momentáneas en una línea de

suministro de energía de CA (sobrecargas momentáneas en líneas telefónicas, redes o CATV, si corresponde), APC by Schneider Electric emitirá el pago
