UV Canon™ Introduction
Introduction: Thank you for purchasing the UV Canon™ by Ameri-
can DJ
®. The UV Canon™ is ready to be plugged in right out of the
box and does not require any type of controller to operate. The UV
Canon™ has been designed to function as a ultra-violet light projector.
The reflector focuses a tight ultra-violet beam of light on wall or other
surface. This unit was designed to fit the needs of theatrical groups
and other arenas that require strong ultra-violet lighting focused on a
specific location, rather than using other types of ultra-violet lighting
that washes an entire area.

Unpacking:
Every UV Canon™ has been thoroughly tested and has
been shipped in perfect operating condition. Carefully check the ship-
ping carton for damage that may have occurred during shipping. If the
carton appears to be damaged, carefully inspect your unit for damage
and be sure all accessories necessary to operate the unit have arrived
intact. In the event damage has been found or parts are missing, please
contact our toll free customer support number for further instructions.

Warning! To prevent or reduce the risk of electrical shock or fire, do
not expose this unit to rain or moisture.
Caution! There are no user serviceable parts inside this unit. Do not
attempt any repairs yourself, doing so will void your manufactures
warranty. In the unlikely event your unit may require service please
contact your nearest American DJ
® dealer.

® UV Canon™ before attempting operation.
General Operation: This fixture is designed to operate as a stand
alone unit. It has been tested and the lamp has been installed at the
factory there is no assembly necessary. The UV Canon™ is ready to
be plugged in, out of the box. There is no power switch, after plug-
ging the unit in the lamp will immediately begin to glow.
Please carefully read and understand the instructions in this manual
thoroughly before attempting to operate this unit. These instructions
contain important safety information regarding the use and mainte-
nance of this unit. Please keep this manual with the unit, for future
reference.
UV Canon™ General Instructions
Fixture Cleaning: Due to fog residue, smoke, and dust cleaning the
internal and external lenses should be carried out periodically to opti-
mize lig outp t. Cleani freque depend the envi onmen ht u ng ncy s on r t
in whic fixtu operate (I e. e, fog residue, dust, dew) h the re s . smok .
In heavy use we recommend cleaning on a monthly basis. Periodic
cleaning will ensure longevity, and crisp beam output.
1. Use normal glass cleaner and a soft cloth to wipe down the out-
side casing.
2. Use a soft brush to clean t the air ventsou
3. Clean the external optics with glass cleaner and a soft cloth every
20 days.
4. Clean the internal optics with glass cleaner and a soft cloth every
30-60 days.
5. Always be sure to dry all parts completely before plugging the unit
back in.

Caution: Always replace with the exact same type lamp and fuse,

cian. Replace with anything other than the specified part can damage
your unit and will void your manufactures warranty.
Warning: If you continue to blow either the lamp or fuse after either
one s rha al eady been eplaced, TOP using the unit. Contact cu r S s-
tomer support for further instructions, you may have to return the unit
for servicing. Continuing to use the unit may cause serious damage.
Fuse Replacement: The fuse is located on the rear of the unit next
to the p er cord. O asionally this fuse may blow when the unit ow cc
be mes to hot. To replace the fuse; di nnect the unit from the main co sco
p er su y and u crew the fuse holder frow ppl ns

ing. Rem e the old fuse and discard it, replace the fuse with an exact ov
same type. Insert the new fuse into it’s holder and return the holder to
the fuse housing.
Lamp Re la en p cem t: Caution! . Never open the unit when in use
Always disconnect the main power and allow the fixture ample time
to cool before attempting to replace the lamp. Lamp replacement has
been made simple by incorporating a remove tray that is retained by
a re . se r m r e single thumb sc ws Again, plea eme ber to always eplac
with the exact same type lamp.
1. Be sure to follow the proper procedures when handling halogen
lamps. Never touch the new lamp with your bare fingers.
2. Located the two Phillips screws that secu the re front lamp protec-

rewdrivesc r to acces s h t e lamp socket.
3. Once the screws have been removed, remove the grill to expose
the lamp.
4. Remove and replace the lamp with an exact match.
5. Reassemble in reverse order.
UV Canon™ Safety Hook
The UV Ca built-i safet ook on ea of the non has a n y h the r r unit
located near the power cord. This hook allows a safety cable to be
securely fastened to the unit when mounting or suspending the unit
from th n a y the yoke. Always use is hook in combi ation with safet
cable for safe and secure mounting.
