Cautions

the operation of the vehicle, especially the steering
wheel, shi lever or brake pedal, or the passenger-
side airbag.
 Before installing the unit, check your local traïŹƒc
laws and regulations.
 Make sure you install the unit properly according to
the installation instructions. Improper installation
may cause malfunction.
 Before installation, be sure to turn the ignition
switch to the OFF position or take out the key.
Installing the unit with the ignition on may cause
the car battery to drain or short circuit.
 For information about the polarity, battery voltage
and location of the airbag of your car, please consult
your car dealer.
 When installing the unit, use only the hardware
provided and avoid mounting to any critical
components of the vehicle.
 Take care to prevent cords or wires from getting
tangled or crimped in the moving portion of a seat
rail.
 Please consult a qualiïŹed technician or service
personnel if you cannot install this unit in the car
securely.
Attaching to a car
Before attaching
 Choose a location where no obstacle blocks GPS
satellite reception so as to achieve best reception.
 Make sure the unit does not interfere with the
operation of car equipment.
 Clean the mounting surface.
Connecting the cord 
Connect the cord to the external GPS antenna (aerial)
jack of the Sony Personal Navigation System until it
clicks.
Attaching to the roof of a car using
magnet 
Position the unit horizontally, and where GPS satellite
reception is not blocked by the roof or boot.
Note
Place the unit carefully so as not to damage the car’s body surface.
Installing the cord 

Pass the cord along the windshield (windscreen)
pillar, fender and molding, then pull it into the car.
 Roof B
Pass the cord along the center pillar, windshield
(windscreen) pillar inner side and dashboard, then
pull it into the car.
Note
If the car uses a curtain-type side airbag that spreads from the
windshield (windscreen) pillar over the center pillar, or a shock-
absorbing structure for its interior, be sure to place the cord at a
distance from it.
Note when installing the cord
Secure the cord using a commercially available cord clamps in the
form of a U-shape if necessary, to prevent rain water from entering
the car along the cord, or the cord from disturbing driving.
Notes
 Do not allow cord slack outside of the car.
 GPS signals and DC power are present in the GPS antenna (aerial)
cord. When attaching the unit, be careful that the cord is not
caught in any moving parts of the car. A damaged cord may result
in malfunction of the unit.
 When washing your car in an automatic car-wash, detach the unit
from the car. Otherwise the unit may come oïŹ€ and damage the
car’s body surface.
 Do not pull the cord when detaching the unit as the cord may
detach itself since the magnet is strong.
 Note that the magnet will not attach to an aluminum or FRP car
body.
On painting the unit
The unit can be painted to match the car’s body color. However, do
not use metallic paint, as it may cause poor reception or reception
error. Do not dismantle the unit for this purpose.

Montage am Fahrzeug
Vorbereitungen
 WĂ€hlen Sie fĂŒr einen optimalen Empfang einen
Montageort, an dem der GPS-Satellitenempfang
nicht durch Hindernisse irgendwelcher Art blockiert
wird.
 Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das GerĂ€t beim Bedienen
des Fahrzeugs nicht hinderlich ist.
 Reinigen Sie die MontageoberïŹ‚Ă€che.
Anschließen des Kabels 
Schließen Sie das Kabel an die Buchse fĂŒr die externe
GPS-Antenne am Bordnavigationssystem von Sony an,
so dass es mit einem Klicken einrastet.
Anbringen am Fahrzeugdach mithilfe
eines Magneten 
Richten Sie das GerÀt horizontal aus, und zwar an
einer Stelle, an der der GPS-Satellitenempfang nicht
durch das Dach oder den KoïŹ€erraum blockiert wird.
Hinweis
Bringen Sie das GerÀt vorsichtig an, damit der Lack der
Fahrzeugkarosserie nicht beschÀdigt wird.
Verlegen des Kabels 
îș Dachmontage A
FĂŒhren Sie das Kabel entlang der A-SĂ€ule, der
Regenrinne und der Verkleidung und fĂŒhren Sie es
dann nach innen in das Fahrzeug.
 Dachmontage B
FĂŒhren Sie das Kabel an der MittelsĂ€ule und
der Innenseite der A-SĂ€ule entlang zum
Armaturenbrett und dann ins Innere des
Fahrzeugs.
Hinweis
Wenn das Fahrzeug mit einem vorhangartigen Seitenairbag, der
sich von der A-SÀule bis zur MittelsÀule erstreckt, oder mit einer
Knautschzone fĂŒr die Fahrgastzelle ausgestattet ist, verlegen Sie
das Kabel bitte in einem gewissen Abstand davon.
Hinweis zum Verlegen des Kabels
Befestigen Sie das Kabel gegebenenfalls mit handelsĂŒblichen
Kabelklemmen in U-Form, damit entlang des Kabels kein
Regenwasser in das Fahrzeug eindringen kann und das Kabel beim
Fahren nicht hinderlich ist.
Hinweise
 Das Kabel darf außen am Fahrzeug nicht lose sein oder
durchhÀngen.
 Mit dem GPS-Antennenkabel werden GPS-Signale und
Gleichstrom ĂŒbertragen. Achten Sie beim Montieren des GerĂ€ts
darauf, dass das Kabel nicht in beweglichen Teilen des Fahrzeugs
eingeklemmt werden kann. Bei einem beschÀdigten Kabel kommt
es möglicherweise zu Fehlfunktionen am GerÀt.
 Wenn Sie das Fahrzeug in einer automatischen Autowaschanlage
waschen lassen, nehmen Sie das GerÀt vom Fahrzeug ab.
Andernfalls kann sich das GerÀt lösen und den Lack der
Fahrzeugkarosserie beschÀdigen.
 Ziehen Sie zum Abnehmen des GerĂ€ts nicht am Kabel. Der Magnet
hat eine starke Wirkung und das Kabel könnte sich lösen.
 Beachten Sie, dass der Magnet an Fahrzeugkarosserien aus
Aluminium oder Glasfaser nicht hÀlt.
Lackieren des GerÀts
Sie können das GerÀt wie die Karosserie des Fahrzeugs lackieren.
Verwenden Sie dazu jedoch keine Metallic-Lackierung. Andernfalls

Montage sur une voiture
Avant le montage
 Choisissez un endroit oĂč aucun obstacle n’entrave
la rĂ©ception du satellite GPS aïŹn d’obtenir une
réception optimale.
 VĂ©riïŹez que l’appareil ne gĂȘne pas le fonctionnement
des Ă©quipements de la voiture.
 Nettoyez la surface de montage.
Raccordement du cordon 
Raccordez le cordon à la prise d’antenne GPS externe
du systùme de navigation personnel Sony jusqu’au
déclic.
Fixation sur le toit de la voiture à l’aide
d’un aimant 
Placez l’appareil Ă  l’horizontale et Ă  un endroit oĂč la
rĂ©ception du satellite GPS n’est pas entravĂ©e par le toit
ou le coïŹ€re.
Remarque
Prenez des prĂ©cautions lorsque vous mettez l’appareil en place aïŹn
de ne pas endommager la carrosserie de la voiture.
Installation du cordon 
îș Toit A
Faites passer le cordon le long du montant du
pare-brise, de l’aile et du chñssis, puis tirez-le dans
la voiture.
 Toit B
Faites passer le cordon le long du montant central,
sur l’intĂ©rieur du montant du pare-brise et sur le
tableau de bord, puis tirez-le dans la voiture.
Remarque
Si la voiture utilise un airbag rideau latéral qui se déploie du
montant du pare-brise vers le montant central ou une structure
permettant d’absorber les chocs dans l’habitacle, veillez à
Ă©loigner le cordon de ce dispositif.
Remarque sur l’installation du cordon
Fixez le cordon Ă  l’aide de pinces en forme de U prĂ©vues Ă  cet eïŹ€et
disponibles dans le commerce, si nĂ©cessaire, aïŹn d’éviter que l’eau de
pluie ne pénÚtre dans la voiture le long du cordon ou que le cordon
ne gĂȘne la conduite.
Remarques
 Ne laissez pas le cordon pendre librement Ă  l’extĂ©rieur de la
voiture.
 Les signaux GPS et l’alimentation en courant continu traversent
le cordon de l’antenne GPS. Lorsque vous ïŹxez l’appareil, prenez
garde que le cordon ne se coince pas dans une piĂšce mobile du
vĂ©hicule. L’appareil risque de mal fonctionner si le cordon est
endommagé.
 Lorsque vous lavez votre voiture dans un centre de lavage
automatique, retirez l’appareil de celle-ci. Sinon l’appareil risque
de se dĂ©tacher et d’endommager la carrosserie de la voiture.
 Ne tirez pas sur le cordon lorsque vous retirez l’appareil sinon il
risque de se détacher car la puissance magnétique est trÚs forte.
 Notez que l’aimant ne se ïŹxera pas sur une carrosserie en
aluminium ou en polyester renforcĂ© de ïŹbres de verre.
Peinture de l’appareil
L’appareil peut ĂȘtre peint pour s’harmoniser avec la couleur de
la carrosserie. Il convient toutefois de ne pas utiliser de peinture
métallique car ceci peut entraßner une mauvaise réception ou des
erreurs de rĂ©ception. Ne dĂ©montez pas l’appareil pour le peindre.

Plaats het apparaat horizontaal en op een locatie waar
de ontvangst van de GPS-satelliet niet wordt gestoord

Wees voorzichtig wanneer u het apparaat plaatst, zodat u de
carrosserie van de auto niet beschadigt.

Leid de kabel langs de A-stijl van de voorruit, de

Opmerking

schokdempend systeem aan de binnenkant van de auto, moet u
de kabel uit de buurt van deze onderdelen plaatsen.
Opmerking bij het installeren van de kabel
Zet zo nodig de kabel vast met in de handel verkrijgbare
kabelklemmen (U-vorm) om te voorkomen dat regenwater langs de
kabel loopt en in de auto terechtkomt en om te voorkomen dat de
kabel u hindert tijdens het rijden.
Opmerkingen
 Zorg dat de kabel niet slap langs de auto hangt.
 De GPS-antennekabel transporteert GPS-signalen en gelijkstroom.
Wanneer u het apparaat bevestigt, moet u ervoor zorgen dat
de kabel niet beklemd raakt tussen bewegende delen van de
auto. Een beschadigde kabel kan een storing in het apparaat

Nota sull’installazione del cavo
